C.T.T.T.O.A.F.F. Issues Tour Recap
Colorado based metallers Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire have issued the following recap after their recent east coast tour:
"Hi kids! We would like to thank everyone that came out to see us during this last East Coast tour. Thanks to all of the bands/people that helped us out with shows as well. If I could sum up the tour I would say that it was a series of extreme up's and down's. If you were there for one of the 'up' nights, you probably know it, if you were there for one of the 'down' nights you probably didn't talk to us because no one did on those nights. Also, if you took pictures or video of us please send it to us! We can't fit a merch guy into our van so we always end up at the end of our tours with absolutely no footage or pictures unless someone else takes it. We will send you a special surprise if you hook us up. I guess that's about all for now.
"I might post a tour journal in the next few weeks if I have time. We're all in the process of getting new jobs/going back to old jobs, saving money, AND writing material/getting ready to record for our next full length. I will definitely keep everyone posted on those happenings. West Coasters, we plan on coming out your way in March/April so look for that. I'll post the tour dates on here as well as on the myspace and every where else I can.
"Thanks for the support!"

Arch Enemy Streaming New Song Online
Guitarist Michael Ammot of Arch Enemy has issued the following update about streaming the re-recorded song "Beast of Man" from their upcoming album "The Root of All Evil" on their MySpace page:
"So the time has arrived for a first taste of ‘The Root Of All Evil’! The song ‘Beast Of Man’ was originally written as a last minute addition to the ‘Stigmata’ album back in 1998. Daniel (Erlandsson) had just returned to the ARCH ENEMY drum throne and I wrote this one and another song called ‘Diva Satanica’ in a day or two. Christopher (Amott) had the cool harmonized mid section part and that was that, we went into the studio and rehearsed, recorded and mixed them in a marathon 24 hour session. It was OK at the time, but I always thought the songs deserved a little more love and attention.
"The 2009 version of this song is really heads and shoulders above the original in my opinion. The song was always cool, but the production on the original was quite poor, more like a demo really. I am very pleased that we did this ‘Root Of All Evil’ project and that we can give these songs a 'new life'… Enjoy the ‘Beast Of Man’!”
"The Root Of All Evil" will be released on September 28th and contains re-recorded tracks from the bands first three albums “Black Earth," “Stigmata,"and “Burning Bridges."

These are also the first songs that i have produced and engineered my self.
"Lyrically the songs deal with perceptions of god and spirituality, attacking organized religion and opting for the pantheist, pagan side of spirituality, as i am sure you might have guessed i would. Lyrics and explanations will be included with the actual releases.more on that soon.

Forbidden Completes Work On New Material
American thrash metal veterans Forbidden has confirmed that they have finished writing new material for their first new studio album in thirteen years. A message from guitarist Craig Locicero reads as follows:
"Hey Everyone. As some of you may already know, my blogs can get a bit long winded. So I'll do my best to keep it short here. Ughhhh!!!
"The last few months have been filled with music like no other time in my life. No longer will I feel that I have to put all of the eggs in one basket. There are too many talented people and too much creativity out there to sit around and wait for anything. But the hardest part is holding it back. You want to let people hear it when you know how cool the stuff is. But that's just the business part of things.
"Let's see, Forbidden finished recording and mixing our first new stuff in 13 years, we can't wait to unleash that!!! This is a huge monkey off of our backs and we feel great about it. I'll only say this for now, these are exactly the songs that needed to springboard us into the future. We will be posting 'Adapt Or Die' up on our MySpace page before our show at Slim's in San Francisco on August 22nd. That's next week. We promise!!! Much more on that as this week progresses."

Agent Steel Checks In From Finland
Los Angeles metal band Agent Steel, has checked in from their tour, ending today in Finland with the following update:
“We just arrived into beautiful Oulu, Finland for the Jalometalli Festival that starts tonite with headliners VOI VOD. AGENT STEEL performs tomorrow nite with DEATH ANGEL, ARTILLERY and our new east coast friends WHIPLASH, among other kick ass bands. The last few days have been a bit rough with lots of traveling. We performed in Hamburg a few days ago with support coming from the Belgium band AFTER ALL. We traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark, and last nite we rocked Oslo, Norway at the venue SMUGET along with WHIPLASH; Oslo is an amazing city and we were treated very kind by the promoters, frends, and fans alike. It was great to see legend Metal Producer Harris Johns, and also members of DARKTHRONE in Norway! We drank a few beers with WHIPLASH who also had a very good crushin' live set. We were up by 6AM this morning to take two flights into Oulu; the last flight was jammed packed with the majority of travelers being metalheads on board. We look forward to our upcoming live performance tomorrow at the JALOMETALLI FESTIVAL. This is gonna be lots of fun; we still need to finalize the set list, so if there's an A.S. song you wanna here live, send us a message! Also there's some sort of meet-and-greet tomorrow as well at the event, so stop by if attending. This is the last show of our European tour. We get back next week and will immediately start working on finalizing the songs for the upcoming record; we plan on posting a song up once we decide which song off the 4-song rough demo that is in pre-production.”

In This Moment Blogs About Warped Tour
Chris from In This Moment blogged about their experience on the Warped Tour.
"As I write this update we are 11 days away from the end of Warped Tour 2009 - I am in a hotel room in Boise, ID on one of our last days off for the tour. We went into Warped Tour thinking we knew what to expect (we've done 2 Ozzfest's and numerous other festivals) but we quickly realized that Warped Tour is a completely different animal.
"It’s a huge mix of people from all walks of life. Most of them are kids under 18, it has been an amazing opportunity for us to reach a brand new audience that have never heard of us before (Thanks Kevin Lyman). We started the tour thinking its an alternative music fest and we have lots of new songs that aren't just metal that would probably appeal to the "Warped Tour audience" and yet again we came to realize we had no idea what the "Warped Tour audience" was."
"One of the best things we came up with was to go out into the crowd on the last song and try and get a circle pit going around us, and even better than that....an all girl circle pit...turns out Warped Tour is the perfect place to get a huge all girl circle pit going.....and I gotta say its a pretty cool feeling to stand in the middle of a bunch of girls who are circle pitting around you..." The Rockstar Ramblings: Side A Song 1

Today we look at the glam heavy metal scene (late seventies to early nineties) and review the best first tracks.
