Leverage Issues New Album Recording Update

Finnish metallers Leverage have issued the following update about recording new material:

"Howdy hoo!

"A few words on the keyboard sessions...

"Once again I played and recorded things in the basement of our home. There's a place which I call "studio"/personal playground of mine...in other words 'RyhäPaja'.

"Just like with the Blind Fire-sessions, a huge thanks to Jari Mikkola who spent 'some' time to extract recorded audio files from Studio Audio's ProTools-sessions, one track for each instrument...including vocs and backing vocs. Once you have those files, it's quite easy to "search and find" a pleasant balance to work with. And for me, this is pretty important because it's not just about recording stuff, but also about arranging things at the same time.

"Anyway, the whole thing started at the beginning of my vacation (June 29th or something). This time I did not work non-stop like I did with Blind Fire-sessions (spending all of my vacation in the basement in the process). I took several days off between recordings to relax and 'charge batteries'. Thanks to those relaxing days everything rolled smoother and painlessly straight forward. And of course another excellent thing was that our 'cassette-guy' visited on some days to keep company and record some evidence with his video camera...thanks to Tommi, the sessions were hilarious on those days :-D

"My equipment is mostly the same as in 2007 with a Motif XS7 offering the most of the sounds and a Nova II used for solos. A couple of extra software synths have been added to my studio 'library'. I used those mostly in some 'relaxed spots' of the songs (beautiful pads and choirs and stuff like that). And this time I also had to go for a Piano plugin to get some real sounding pianos too.

"Once again, the songs are going to be awesome. Keyboards are in my opinion going to be in a bit bigger role this time and most of the songs are a bit more progressive.

"I hope You'll like it...I love it ;-)"
