Therapy? To Release "Crooked Timber" in March

Therapy? will release "Crooked Timber," their follow-up to 2006's "One Cure Fits All" in March.

"We’re really excited about getting these tracks heard and can't wait to play them live," says frontman Andy Cairns." We’ve spent enough time away now - it’s time to get involved. There’s always the risk of getting lazy and simply churning out what’s 'expected' or a 'safe bet' but that was never an option for Crooked Timber. Making the album was a great experience and now it's time to get back in peoples faces."

The album - produced by Gang of Four's Andy Gill - features the following tracks:

The Head That Tried To Strangle Itself
Enjoy The Struggle
Clowns Galore
Exiles
Crooked Timber
I Told You I Was Ill
Somnambulist
Blacken The Page
Magic Mountain
Bad Excuse For Daylight

"Crooked Timber" will be released on March 23 through Global.

Guitar Hero: Metallica w/ Bonus Drum Pedal

Joystiq.com reports that Gamestop pre-orders of Guitar Hero: Metallica will come with a bonus drum pedal and input splitter. Their announcement was pretty entertaining though:

"There's a thick cloud of fear hanging over fans of faux-drumming in games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero: World Tour -- fear inspired by the near-impossible rhythms which will need to be kept when Guitar Hero: Metallica hits store shelves. We're not sure how familiar you guys are with the speed with which Mr. Ulrich is capable of producing percussion, but we assure you, his work will be most unpleasant to attempt to mimic.

"Thankfully, an uncharacteristically useful pre-order bonus from GameStop will give the game's quick-to-act reservers an extra bass drum pedal and input splitter. This will allow the player to use both pedals to tackle the game's more heel-punishing tracks. It's certainly a better option than splitting your foot down the middle, and training yourself to control both halves independently, which, now that we think about it, would be pretty rock-and-roll."

The Project Hate Issues Recording Studio Update

Swedish death metal band The Project Hate has issued the following recording update:

"Things are progressing nicely in the Hate camp, to say the least. K finished up the bass a few days ago and it seems like everything is definitely in order with that one. Some additional guitars have been added as well by K, adding even more intensity to this masterpiece (yeah, that’s what it fucken is). The drums are all put down and checked and we have absolutely nothing to complain about with those either.

Thomas has done a fucken excellent job, which you will hear. Ms. Jo will come to K’s flat tomorrow (Wednesday) and start preparing for her 4 days recording session with Robban at Rat Productions (the same guy we have used for her vocals over the last 2 albums). Jörgen, the almighty J, nailed a tune last week and then got himself blessed with a cold that has put him on hold for a few more days before he can enter the studio again and continue recording his monstrous growls. He’ll try his best to get some work done this week. More...

Denial Fiend Announces New Members

While busy working on the follow up to 2007's horror metal masterpiece, "They Live," DENIAL FIEND bassist Terry Butler (SIX FEET UNDER, ex-MASSACRE, ex-DEATH) and guitarist Sam Williams (DOWN BY LAW, PSEUDO HEROES) are pleased to welcome two new additions into the line-up.

Taking over the recently vacanted drum throne is D.R.I skinsman, Rob Rampy. Known for his percussive intensity, Rampy will be joining the band as a permanent member. Joining forces with the trio, as they pound out tunes for their forthcoming EP, is none other than Blaine Cook (THE ACCUSED, TOE TAG) as a guest lead vocalist.

Williams had this to say about the recent roster developments, "We're really happy to be working with Rob, as we're huge fans of his work with D.R.I. The guy is old-school, fast and tight. And although Blaine won't be a permanent member of the band, we're extremely pleased to have him with us on this EP. Of course THE ACCUSED has always been a major influence on DENIAL FIEND. Both of these guys fit our current direction perfectly - a little faster, a little more technical, and more thrashy all the way around."

The as of yet untitled EP will be released sometime in 2009 on Ibex Moon Records, followed by a number of live dates across the US.

Megadeth Frontman Posts Another Album Update

Megadeth are currently hard at work on a brand new studio album and they've made sure everyone knows about it. Frontman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message online:

"Droogies!

"I have just determined whilst listenening down to the songs that I have miscounted and we don't have the 13 that I thought we had, and that we only have 12 songs. I guess we had one song written down under two different names, and what a let-down. Either way, I was thrashing to this new stuff, and except the songs that are intentionally slower in certain parts, this is a rather jaunty little record.

"We are just about ready to send Shawn home from doing his drum tracks, which means in real fuzzy math, that we are almost 25% done with the recordings. Now we just need to continue to structure the songs for lyrics, and solos and we are done! More...
