Vardan Releasing 21st Album
His album "Between the Fog and Shadows" isn't even due out until August 21st, but somehow Vardan has already recorded another album now slated for release this year. The solo black metal project's 21st album "From The Pale Moonlight" is now set to drop on September 18th via Moribund Records. The label comments:
"'From the Pale Moonlight' is perhaps Vardan's most emotive recording to date. Exhibiting Vardan's characteristically grim 'n' forsaken brand of Burzumic black metal, 'From the Pale Moonlight' shows many somber shades of melody, miserable and mesmerizing to the bitter end, with bouts of well-timed (and very emotive) speed dragging the melancholy to hysteric, horrific ends. From the Pale Moonlight, Vardan consumes all hope..." More...
One Machine Details "The Final Cull"
One Machine, the brainchild of acclaimed guitarist/songwriter Steve Smyth (Testament, Nevermore, Forbidden, Dragonlord, Vicious Rumors), have posted details for the new album "The Final Cull," the sophomore effort. The album is set for release on September 18th via Scarlet Records.
Commented Smyth: "We are very excited to release The Final Cull to you all on September 18th! This is the album I’ve been wanting to write for years, and we’ve done it now, with One Machine. The perfect storm of a bit of careful planning, a lot of spontaneity in the songwriting department, and jamming as a band together with Jamie (Hunt, guitar), Chris (Hawkins, vocals), Stefano (Selvatico, bass), and Michi (Sanna, drums) live in the studio, we have come out the other side of this with what I feel is a really heavy, living, breathing, live metal album! Did I mention it’s heavy, and it’s metal?! We tracked live at Death Island Studios, with Marco Angioni and Tue Madsen helming. Tue came in and set up the studio, and off we went for 9 days solid, 15-18 hour days, eat, sleep, and right back in, it was awesome! Tue mixed, mastered and produced Chris’ vocals (I leaned in a little), and I produced the music. It was so refreshing to work in this way again! Music is meant to be heard live, especially metal, that’s why I wanted to do it this way, and we couldn’t be happier with this album. I hope you’ll join us down the dark futuristic path that is 'The Final Cull'!”
The track list for the album is:
1. Forewarning
2. The Final Cull
3. Summoning Of The Soul
4. Screaming For Light
5. The Grand Design
6. New Motive Power
7. Ashes In The Sky
