Following the departure of the band's vocalist, Vale Of Pnath has gone through another lineup change, this time swapping out guitarists. The group comments:
"Due to personal reasons, Vale of Pnath has parted ways with guitarist Harrison Patuto. Although his time in the band was short lived, he was an outstanding member of this band and is a fantastic guitar player. Moving on from this is always difficult but we have so much in store for you, we can't just give up.
"Having said that, we are very excited to announce that Eloy Montes of Flub will be taking over guitar duties! We are currently in the process of finishing the writing of our full length, and his contributions thus far are more than we could have asked for.
"If you aren't familiar with his playing, check out his band or even better - check out this clip of him playing the first solo in 'Sightless.'"
Earlier this month Hecate Enthroned parted ways with the band's vocalist, but now a new member has been found. The U.K. group comments:
"We are very pleased to announce the addition of Joe Stamps as Hecate Enthroned’s new vocalist!
Joe has been a friend of the band for many years and has stood in on live vocals for us in the past; some of you may remember our U.K. mini tour in 2006 when Joe did the Southampton and Nottingham shows with us.
"We have always been fans of his incredible power and impressive range which is currently on display wih his band Lacrota (Sheffield) and in his past work with Ethereal (Liverpool).
"Joe’s great attitude, commitment and passion for what he does made him the natural choice and we are excited to start working with him live and in the studio. We are sure you will join us in welcoming Joe to the family." More...
Peruvian symphonic power metal act Ancestral Dawn has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the first Rock Metal Opera made in Perú and the first in the world mixing ancient South American instruments, international world class guests and an Inca culture based storytelling. The project features ex-Nautiluz members Jorge Higginson on bass and Jorge Segersbol on main vocals along with a cast of guest appearances. The campaign page can be accessed at this location.
Confirmed guest appearances include: Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire/Angra/Vision Divine) and Jonas Heidgert (Dragonland/Destiny). Guests will lend their voices to different characters in the story.
As for the album's conceptual story, the band reports: "The album's story takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in a fictional city inspired in Lima-Perú, known as 'The grey City,' a place always covered by a strange deep haze.
"There, catholic medical student, Sebastián Vendrel (Bastian), analyses several cases of unusual coma as the rate of suicides strangely increases in the city.
"Soon, his beloved fiancée, Jessica Isern, will fall in this rare state too, forcing him to twist his principles and search for alternative methods of ancient shamanic medicine.
"Thus, Bastian finds Andean Warlock 'Sairi Tupaj' (Fabio Lione), who knows that the answer of the disease is way more related to the dark force controlling the strange haze of the city, than just finding some natural herbs as medication. Instead he offers him the opportunity to see the real problem with his own eyes, by taking a spiritual trip with the divine beverage of Ayahuasca.
"Drinking from it will unleash the real adventure: Dark forces, ancient shamans and primordial Inca gods will guide Bastian trough an old world far beyond his beliefs." More...
