Life Of Agony Cancels Remaining Tour Dates
New York alternative metal/hardcore veterans Life Of Agony has announced that they have decided to cancel the remainder of their tour dates across the North East United States, after vocalist Mina Caputo and drummer Veronica Bellino tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. A statement from the band reads as follows:
"We have unfortunate news to share: Both Mina and Veronica have tested positive for COVID and sadly we must cancel the rest of the Northeast run. We are terribly sorry. These are crazy times and we're all doing our best to navigate through it together. To all our fans, we plan to make up the shows as soon as we can.
"We'd especially like to thank Dog Eat Dog, Kings Never Die, the opening bands, the venues, promoters, and all of the crew for everything."
Sabaton Replaces Aerosmith At Graspop 2022
As previously announced, American hard rock legends Aerosmith has announced that they have cancelled their tour of Europe this Spring/Summer. One of the dates affected was their scheduled headlining slot at Graspop Metal Meeting, Belgium's most popular metal festival. The organisers of the event have now confirmed that taking their place will be Swedish power metal stars Sabaton. A statement from the organisers reads as follows:
"Unfortunately Aerosmith have been forced to cancel their headlining show at GMM 2022. As soon as the news reached us we set out on the daunting task of finding a worthy replacement and our efforts have been rewarded. We’ve been able to snare one of the most popular metal bands around because this summer ‘The Swedish War Machine’ will once again be campaigning in Dessel. That’s right, Sabaton are our new headliners for Sunday 19 June!
"Sabaton’s tenth album, ‘The War to End All Wars’, will be released on March 4, 2022 (Nuclear Blast). Written and recorded in 2021 during the global COVID pandemic, the band has crafted a concept album of 11 brand-new songs that dive deep into previously unexplored atrocities, miracles and events tied to the early 20th century's World War I.
"Get ready for another glorious performance by the Swedish panzer battalion. We can’t wait to see what dazzling new manoeuvres they’ve come up with this time. Come to Graspop Metal Meeting 2022 and find out!"
Thraw Releases New Single
Slovenian thrashers Thraw, feat. Tilen Hudrap (U.D.O, Dirkschneider, ex- Pestilence, ex-Paradox, Testament (live), ex-Vicious Rumors) has released an official music video for their new single, "Century Of Enslavement." You can check it out below.
Formed by Domen Hudrap (younger brother of the iconic Slovenian bassist Tilen Hudrap in 2006, Thraw immediately rose to the forefront of the 00's resurrected thrash movement at the very beginning of their existence. Throughout the following three years the band played numerous shows across the country as well as abroad and landed spots at some of the most famous open air festivals, including the legendary MetalCamp, where the band shared the stage with Helloween, Blind Guardian, Opeth, Morbid Angel, Tankard and many more, as well as many other festivals i.e Metal Mania Open Air (with Exodus, Pro-Pain…). The band directly supported one of their biggest early influences, the bay area thrash gods Heathen shortly after that and released highly acclaimed EP's Injecting Hate and Encephalic Opressions, which cemented their place among the best newer thrash acts of the new millennium.
Thraw always had a unique sound and take on thrash, adding a plethora of musical elements with absolutely no limits, which was clearly shown on their debut full length album, "Decoding The Past," mastered and co-produced by the world renowned American producer Juan Urteaga (Exodus, Machine Head, Testament, Sadus), released in 2013 to international acclaim and distributed globally via Metal Tank Records.
Thraw continued putting out selected released through the years ("Doomsday Code," "Transforming Reality" and "Gunshot Treatment," to name a few) and remained artistically active, yet 2021 (which marked the 15th anniversary of the band) brought a lineup change: Thraw was joined by Lenart Mlinar, lifelong friend of the band, who joined the Hudrap brothers and O. Paternus on drums. With the new found energy, resulting from many ideas comprised during the corona virus pandemic the band hit the studio and recorded an offering that easily competes with the high standard of their past releases and quite possibly surpasses them: "Century Of Enslavement." Draconian Cancels European Tour With Nightfall
Swedish doom metal veterans Draconian has announced that, due to ongoing COVID restrictions, they have been forced to cancel their headlining tour of Europe. A message from vocalist Anders Jacobsson reads as follows:
"Dearest friends,
"We hope you are all doing well out there in a world that is still holding its breath, a world that has become so strange and withdrawn. We kept our aspirations and held our beliefs for 2022, and it felt as if the light was finally within reach. Then, we started seeing other bands cancelling- or postponing yet another time. And now, here we are.
"So, dear friends, we are very saddened to announce that, due to these ongoing COVID restrictions, we're canceling the European tour with Nightfall, Inno, and Shores of Null, scheduled for March.
We are not going to reschedule right away. Instead, we feel it's better to start anew for next year, with less worries and brighter prospects as we're getting everything back on track... And better.
In the meantime, apart from keeping up with rehearsals and the shows still scheduled, there will be a focus on our next album. The songwriting process has started, as Johan and I are working on new songs and lyrics, putting some demos together.
"Anyone that has a ticket should inquire for a refund at the website that the purchase was made. And again, all of the other announced shows are expected to happen.
It's beyond regretful at this point having to share these kind of news, but there will be better ones coming up soon.
"We Thank You, deeply and humbly for your understanding and your unwavering support.
It means the world to us!"
Nightfall adds: "We've been informed the tour is no more. We are very sorry for the last minute bad news. We are in shock as we were looking forward to it and got our vaccines done to be 100% sure we will meet you all and celebrate a small break from the long lockdown routine. Our agency District 19 is looking for alternatives with immediate effect."
Persefone Unveils New Lyric Video
Extreme progressive metal maestros Persefone have returned with the next single from their upcoming album, "metanoia," entering the last round before its long-awaited release this Friday. The third single, "Architecture Of The I," features grim growling, sharp screams and technically precise riffing – creating dark sound walls that alternate with calmer atmospheric parts underlined with electronic elements – once again showcasing the band’s variety in just one epic song! Underlining this opus of sound is a mesmerizing visualizer video that enters another universe – just a sneak peak of what’s to come with their new album "metanoia."
Persefone on "Architecture Of The I":
"‘Architecture of the I’ represents one of the most progressive songs on 'metanoia.' On this track, we really let the song come alive as we were writing, and because of that, the listener will find in there a huge dynamic range from one of the most fast and heavy riffs in the whole album, to some of the most introspective passages.
"This song has been a challenge for us to write and perform, and we are sure that it will also present a challenge for the listener to keep track with its particular pace and structure. Now it's up to you to find the purpose of all those notes within the album. The stunning video was created by our guitar player Filipe and his partner K (DeadFlag Studios and Gráfica de Ferro)." Sausion Signs With Atomic Fire Records
Atomic Fire Records is incredibly excited to announce that Suasion, the rising cinematic/electronic metalcore fusion from Bruxelles, Belgium, have inked a worldwide deal with the label and confirmed that their new album will drop later in 2022!
“Murphy’s Law” features Florent Salfati (LANDMVRKS) as Suasion's first song and music video, blending the raw fury of metalcore with the dramatic atmospherics of modern metal. The band cultivates a cinematic moody sound that owes as much to Bring Me The Horizon as it does to the Landmvrks in their first single. In the video for “Murphy’s Law” the band tells the first part of many more videos to be released as part of a cinematic experience where they take part in a secret mission, get cryogenized, and get sent to outer space. The story pinpoints the energy during the excitement of a new start and the chaos that forced Suasion to start this journey.
Steven Rassart, vocalist, explains how this journey began: “’Murphy's Law’ is a reaction to complications we faced. We wanted to reaffirm our will to pursue our goal to make progress as a band, no matter what is against us. The song is also the first chapter, the album's introduction.”
“Flo is a great singer and musician all around! Working with him was great, and the energy he added to the song surpassed our expectations. He managed to make it something unique. The mix between rap, high and low screams is just awesome. I sincerely think he is one of the only singers capable of such versatility at the moment.” More...
