Whitechapel Joins Forces With Trivium
Whitechapel will spend this fall bringing their energetic live show to fans across the US with metal heavy weights, Trivium, on their headlining tour. The band has been opening the festivities on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem fest as the opening act on the Hot Topic stage alongside label mates Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, and more.
Whitechapel comments: "Mayhem is going amazing so far, we couldn't have asked for a better line up of bands to be touring with and better crowd responses. Fans are going off across the U.S. in every city and we are loving it. It's definitely the best tour we have ever done and are going to be super bummed when it's over!
When we got the offer for these dates with Trivium we were really excited. We've been hanging out with the Trivium dudes on Mayhem and have been having a blast, so naturally the good times will continue on with this upcoming tour. It's a perfect opportunity for us to deliver the same pummeling live show we gave these fans at Mayhem in a smaller more intimate club setting."

Delain Issues New Road Report
Dutch female fronted band Delain has issued the following road report and announcement about shooting a music video:
"With the recordings of a new videoclip on saturday, and a performance on Hollands biggest festival (and also western Europes biggest motorcross) on sunday, this weekend has been very exciting for Delain.
"The weekend started very early on saturday to look around on the location for the video. The owner of the place is an artist who makes his art out of old vinyl records. We all quite liked it accept for Ronald who was upset with the cut up metallica records. At 8.30, our make-up artist Nadia carefully brushed away the evidence of the early morning under our eyes and made us look like rockstars again. From 9 in the morning untill midnight we've been working on the video. All went very smooth and, without even having seen the result yet, we want to thank our video crew for making this awesome day possible. Here are some pictures of the day, not too much though, we don't want to spoil the surprise! ;)
"At the end of the day we all went home very satisfied and tired. the band crashed at Martijn's and Charlottes place to be closer to the location of the festival of the next day. The Zwarte Cross Festival! More...
Every Time I Die Selling Off Old Equipment
Every Time I Die has issued the following update about shooting a new music video and having a garage sale for old equipment:
"just a brief update on some upcoming events related to the worlds smallest colossus that is every time i die. first off, we just wrapped up shooting our video for 'wanderlust' with our good friend and acclaimed director chris sims (jimmy eat world, lamb of god). it was a sweaty and arduous process in a warehouse in los angeles but we were able to hang out on the set of roseanne so it was all worth it. however, being the bunch of polaks that we are, what we're REALLY excited is the garage sale we're having of all old equipment and other etid related paraphernalia. after mike left the band, we cleaned out his garage and came across some real gems. there are road cases out the wazoo as well as old banners, scrims, merch and some weird painting of a fat ladys boobs. the dates of the garage sale are SATURDAY, AUGUST 15th and SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th and it will be held at a yet to be announced location in western new york.
"we will all be there playing yard games, chuggin beers and root beers and just generally loitering. we will be publishing a list of exactly what it is that is for sale so if you're coming from out of town, you know the trip wont be a total waste of time. and on AUGUST 21st, a variety of Dj's will be playing a party in buffalo new york including pete wentz and myself. well, i dont really know how to dj so i may just have my ipod on shuffle. but whatever, itll be a great time. find all information on facebook or go to here if you dont have a facebook account.
"dont forget, NEW JUNK AESTHETIC comes out on sept 15th thru EPITAPH RECORDS with all artwork done by our very own jordan buckley and our tour with bring me the horizon, oh, sleeper and the architects begins SEPT 9th. check our website for dates. love some of you, like you all."
Infernal Seeking New Drummer
Swedish metallers Infernal have issued the following update about seeking a new drummer for recording new material:
"We, INFERNAL, or rather I, David Parland (vocalist/guitarist/main writer and manager of the band) is seeking a drummer for immediate recordings.
"This because of that Tomas Asklund is not longer involved in the band, which unfortunately was mutually agreed about 2 weeks ago, since he simply hadn't much time. We wish him well in his future projects anyway, and as said earlier we hope this is for the best for both of us.
"We originally had talked about starting further recordings now in August, but now it won't happen with Tomas, who now is a full member of GORGOROTH.
"Anyway, I don't know if the message has come across that we are DESPERATELY in need of a drummer, since we, or rather I am sitting here with loads of material waiting to be recorded, and without a drummer, no further progress of the band can be made.
"To clarify what we exactly are in need of, is a guy who can play extreme metal, meaning high speed (around 120 bpm at least), who is tight as hell, etc, but are 100 percent familiar working with the music program Cubase (SX or another version). This is a must. This means to play along to a click track, so that tapes (rather files, since 'tapes' now belong to the last century) can be exchanged over the Net.
"To further clarify things, is that we need someone very good, but who we only need to play on a couple of tracks, that will later be sent out as a very professional 'demo' to record companies etc. More...

Cannibal Corpse Bassist Posts New Road Report
Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster has posted a series of road reports from the Rockstar Mayhem Fest on swrsound.com. An excerpt from the latest report can be found below.
We’re about halfway through the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest, and so far everything has been awesome. The crowds at the shows have continued to be killer with more huge pits day after day.
Since this is an open-air festival tour, we’ve dealt with all sorts of different weather—including 116° heat in Phoenix (reduced slightly late in the day by the shade created from a small dust storm); an impressive display of lightning in Albuquerque, which thankfully stayed miles away from the festival site; a “dust pit” in Denver that left us, the audience and our gear covered with a layer of dirt by the end of the show; wet and (relatively) cool conditions in the Midwest; and all the sweat-inducing heat and humidity you’d expect from the Southeast at the Atlanta show.
One of our favorite things we do on this tour is a daily signing at the Hot Topic tent. This starts at 3 p.m. and usually lasts about an hour. We’ve been having a great time meeting our fans at these signings—it’s a perfect way to get fired up for the upcoming performance.More...

"Yo!! Couple new things in the ATR world that we wanted to let you in on.
"First, thanks to everyone who uploaded videos for the Pepsi/Rock Band Promotion. You've still got a couple days left if you want to upload a vid. We wanted to call out a couple of our favorite videos - so go check 'em out and give them good reviews and comments n shit. If they're picked for voting they have a chance to win a trip to the MTV video awards!
"Second, we're releasing a 2 song digital 'EP' of FOREVER IN YOUR HANDS on August 4 on iTunes, Amazon, etc. It'll have the radio edit of the song, plus an acoustic version that Oli, Mike and I laid down in the studio a couple weeks ago. If you follow me on myspace, twitter, or facebook, you may remember in the spring I had mentioned that we were doing something in the studio on day. Well the acoustic stuff is what it was. On radio station visits we have to be able to perform stuff acoustically, and we thought you guys might like to check out this alternate version of the song. You can call into your local station to request the song.
"Finally, we're shooting a video for FOREVER IN YOUR HANDS that features tons of footage of us on tour, behind the scenes, and other stuff. We're shooting a lot of the footage at the August 9 MAYHEM date at the Nissan Pavilion - so if you're thinking of coming, you just might make it into the video! More...

Evile Posts New Song, "Now Demolition," Online
UK thrash metal band, Evile, has posted a second track, entitled "Now Demolition," from their upcoming album, "Infected Nations," on their MySpace page.
Lead Guitarist OL DRAKE comments:
"Next up is 'Now Demolition.' For the second track we previewed, we wanted it to show a whole other different end of the spectrum of feels on 'Infected Nations'. This track is one on it's own on the album, a much more 'heavy' orientated track designed to get fists in the air and heads going upward, then downward, and hopefully back up again. We hope you can check the entire CD out when it's released, do its Russ Russell production justice, and play it through a good sound system, as the best albums in the world can sound like shite through crappy speakers (especially if they're MP3s; excuse my language)."

The Rockstar Ramblings: Rock Tavern Edition
This week announced the official open of Feelgood’s Rock Bar & Grill, the new venture from Vince Neil (Motley Crue), in Las Vegas. Neil is by no means the first rock star to open a bar. For many years Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, as well as others have made the connection of booze to rock fans. However, what makes this particular opening special is the expectations set for decadence in a true rock and roll atmosphere. With a sound system fit for a stadium you will find live rock (including a house band), privacy in the V-rooms, and hosting after-parties for the bands Whitesnake and Judas Priest (already booked) Neil is introducing the future of rock bars. The question is who will be the next to follow this trend? I’ve broken down some of the potential favorites: More...

Zakk Wylde Furious With Ozzy Osbourne
Black Label Society mainman Zakk Wylde was recently interviewed by Eugene, Oregon's, KFLY Radio, during which he came clean about how certain his place in Ozzy Osbourne's band. He proceeded to rant for three minutes, stating:
"I’ve gotta be honest with you. The boss hasn’t even given me a phone call, so I mean… I’m just like… I don’t know what’s going on over there. Are we doing this thing or are we not doing it? When I keep getting asked these questions, I go, ‘Call the boss. When he tells you, then he can call me back.’ I mean, it’s just like… I love you, man. Whatever you want, that’s cool.
"But if we’re doing this, let’s do it, and let’s whoop some ass. But if you don’t wanna do it, then just give me a heads-up. Call me, man. Tell me what the hell’s going on. I don’t know what the hell’s going on over there. We’re working on the new record, we’ll be back in September, we’ll work on finishing the record. And then we’re supposed to do the tour.
"I mean, it’s like, dude, you don’t wanna play with me anymore? Fine. Play with whoever the hell you wanna play with. I couldn’t give a rat’s ass. Like I’m gonna get all jealous or whatever."

Halloween II Soundtrack To Feature New Recordings
Following the success of Rob Zombie’s initial reinvention of John Carpenter’s smash cult horror film HALLOWEEN, which premiered number one at the box office breaking all Labor Day Weekend 2007 records, comes the sequel, HALLOWEEN II, hitting theatres nationwide on August 28, 2009 from Dimension Films.
With the enormously popular horror movie series back, writer-producer-director Rob Zombie, once again puts his own twisted twist on the soundtrack. "Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" (Hip-O/UMe), set for release on August 25, 2009, and co-produced by Zombie, manages to bring together dialogue from the film as well as music from Motorhead, The Moody Blues, Scream (sans future member Dave Grohl), Rod Stewart, the MC5 and Foghat, alongside new psychobilly band Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures.
Zombie helmed 2007’s ninth installment in the HALLOWEEN franchise that began in 1978. HALLOWEEN II, which debuts August 28, picks up where HALLOWEEN left off, and focuses on the struggles of Laurie Strode (played by Scout Taylor-Compton) and killer Michael Myers (played by Tyler Mane).
The new recordings on "Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" include “Transylvania Terror Train” and “Honky Tonk Halloween” from Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures, who appear in the film. The band’s leader, Jesse Dayton, an Austin, Texas-based singer-guitarist who has played with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, was part of the duo Banjo & Sullivan that performed in Zombie’s 2005 flick The Devil’s Rejects and simultaneously released an album. Similarly, Rob Zombie Presents Captain Clegg And The Night Creatures (Stag/Zombie A Go Go) will be issued August 28.
Also new are “Laurie’s Theme” from John 5 produced by Bob Marlette, (Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne); “Nurse Killa” from score composer Tyler Bates (Watchmen, 300, Halloween, The Devil’s Rejects); and a cover of Nazareth’s 1976 hit “Love Hurts” from singer Nan Vernon, who covered “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Mr. Sandman” for HALLOWEEN.
