At War Streaming New Song "At War" Online
Heavy Artillery has issued the following announcement about At War streaming a new song on their MySpace page:
"With their new studio album, Infidel, hitting streets on August 18th 2009, US war metal legends AT WAR are pleased to give fans a taste of what they can expect with the unveiling of the eponymous track 'At War'. Their first new studio album in over 20 years, Infidel is certain to rank amongst AT WAR’s esteemed discography as the band’s most brutal and uncompromising work to date. The previewed track 'At War' is one of nine tracks featured on Infidel- nine tracks of pure war metal the likes of which can only be delivered by AT WAR.
"Formed in 1983 by guitarist Shawn Helsel, bassist and vocalist Paul Arnold and drummer Dave Stone AT WAR went on to solidify themselves as one premier metal bands in the American underground. After the reviews and college radio play of their 1985 demo Eat Lead, AT WAR went on to release their albums Ordered to Kill (1986) and Retaliatory Strike (1987) for New Renaissance Records. A follow up to Retaliatory Strike was recorded in 1994 but ultimately scrapped which prompted AT WAR to go on an indefinite hiatus only to have the beast awaken from its slumber in 2006 to begin working the material that would become Infidel. Throughout 2007 and 2008, a series of triumphant US shows and festival appearances in Europe and Mexico showed AT WAR at the top of their game and unphased by the passage of time or musical trends. Earlier this year AT WAR once again entered Pyramid Sound to record Infidel with Alex Perialas known for not only has work on AT WAR’S seminal 1987 album Retaliatory Stike but for genre defining albums by such bands as ANTHRAX, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, NUCLEAR ASSUALT, ETC. Infidel’s stunning cover artwork comes courtesy of legendary illustrator and photographer Claudio Bergamin."
Upcoming At War shows:
7/22 @ Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC with Mobile Death Camp, Kiff, and Armored Uprising
7/25 @ Alley Katz in Richmond VA with Beyond Fallen and guests.

"Until The Light Takes Us" Houston Screening Info
Screening information for the documentary film "UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US" in Houston is as follows:
"UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US" Film Synopsis: In 1991, Norwegian churches started to burn down, just after an underground circle of metal musicians had formed. While reporters and police scrambled for answers, more and more churches went up in flames. They had no leads until Varg Vikernes, one of the architects of an underground music-art-political scene known as BLACK METAL took credit and was quickly arrested. While in police custody, the media ran with a largely fabricated story of satanic rituals, abductions and sacrifices. Soon, other young men took those media cues, creating an escalating cycle of fiction-fueled reality. This film reveals the true story behind the music, murders and church burnings, and shows what happened when these young men, who tried to change the world using music, art and violence, found that they could not control what they created.

"If you been reading KISSOnline, it's no surprise to you now. We ARE done recording our new album.
"What might well be a surprise is that at the least, the album is right up there with our best. As much as we may have tried at some other times to achieve this, the chemistry, line-up or lack of total commitment from everyone might have been cause for it being impossible. Not now. Not this time.
"I know that when you hear it you will agree.

Machine Head Pulls Out Of Sonisphere U.K.
California based metal outfit Machine Head has announced that due to an arguement with the events organizers over their billing, they will not be performing at Sonisphere U.K. on August 2nd. A message from the band reads as follows:
"It is with the utmost disappointment that we must announce that Machine Head will not be playing the Sonisphere date at Knebworth in the UK on August 2nd.
"In a turn of events that has left us absolutely baffled, the promoter of the UK Sonisphere festival recently placed, unbeknownst to us, LIMP BIZKIT in our 3rd slot on the festival. Seeing as the running order was a significant part of the negotiation and agreement between us and the promoter, and the fact that we had been advertised in that slot since the festival's announcement, you can imagine our surprise when we were "told" that we would now be playing in the 4th slot, under Limp Bizkit, and bizarrely, it was actually expected that we would quietly move down the bill without issue. We will not.
"Machine Head turned down the U.K.'s Download Festival, a festival we are very fond of - which incidentally, had us above Limp Bizkit - to commit to the Knebworth festival, as we felt a closer kinship to the bands performing this year. In an effort to make this situation in Knebworth work, we have spent more than a week striving to resolve this issue in a proper manner. Unfortunately, that did not happen. More...

Ritual Comments On Metalunderground Interview
In a recent interview with Metalunderground, bassist Robert Nusslein of black metal band Ritual mentioned online personality Metal Sanaz. Ritual has now issued the following statement about that portion of the interview:
"Metal Sanaz vs Ritual
"I did an interview with http://www.metalunderground.com/ and somehow she got wind of it and has been messaging me silly comments about how I must be in love with her to show her so much attention.
"This is my thought on the matter. Apparently some people believe that Underground Metal bands are living the Rockstar life and can be made money off of so they send this succubus in to suck whatever blood she can off them destroying whatever credibility they have in the process. Some of these guys may be drunk enough to believe she will sleep with them if they give her the time of day.
"Ritual exists for the true underground Black Metal diehards who remember when these people wouldn't even look at a band like Gorgoroth or Mayhem. Now all of the sudden these bands are everybodies favorites and you can expect intelligent questions like 'How much groupie action have you been getting on this tour' instead of questions about your art, beliefs.
"Support all true fanzines, record labels, and bands that don't compromise their dignity for mainstream exposure. Cheers"
