It Dies Today Sets "Lividity" Release Date

It Dies Today's new studio album "Lividity" is now officially set for a September 15, 2009 release date via Trustkill Records.

Singer Jason Wood checked in to say, "We're really pumped about this new record and finally releasing it for our fans! This week Mike Hatalak (producer/guitarist) is in final mix sessions for the album and we have also finished several cover songs including a cover of Duran Duran's "Come Undone" as well as Alice In Chains "Them Bones". We know alot of fans are curious about the delays with this new album, but we assure you, if we could have gotten it to you sooner we would have! We have had so many problems with the studio we build to record this album. After spending close to $12,000 on building a completely enclosed soundproofed studio in the house that Mike (Hatalak) and I lived in and spending over 2 months finishing pre-production and tracking, our efforts were thwarted with a forced move out of the house. That move forced us to tear down our entire studio (salvaging about $2,000 of materials) within a holiday weekend. So we moved to a new house and rebuilt the studio and are now finally finishing all mixes. I'm looking forward to hearing reactions from our fans and foes and hopefully this album will make up for the long wait!"

Look for the band to announce a US headline tour kicking off in September, and a European/UK tour to kick off in November.

Pre-Order packages and new merch will be available at the band's new webstore.

It's going to happen anyway, so they might as well enjoy it!"

Celtic Legacy Breaks Up

Irish metal band, Celtic Legacy, has announced that the band is to be put on hold indefinitely with immediate effect.

The band comments on their decision with the following statement, "We had already begun the process of following up 'Guardian Of Eternity', but financial woes have put paid to the prospect of a new album. The band is in heavy debt following the recording of the previous CD. It was hoped that sales of the last release would finance new recordings but subsequent heavy downloading massively outstripped actual album sales, effectively putting paid to any chance we had of financing new projects. Putting it simply - we're broke. We put everything we had into the last album, but the music scene has changed to the point where we simply can't afford any further band activity, especially with the recession adding to the money squeeze. We've made back only a fraction of the money it cost us to record the last album and we can't afford to do another one. It's as simple as that." More...

Virus Comments On Upcoming Vinyl Release

Norway's Virus has issued the following announcement about an upcoming vinyl release that they do not support:

"It has come to our attention that Season Of Mist has granted a vinyl license for The Black Flux to a Greek label named Zyklon-B Productions.

"We wish to clarify that we DO NOT support this release. The cover /design has been altered without our knowing or approval whatsoever. Furthermore, the label represents views that we have no desire to be associated with. Virus is not a political or religious band but we are certainly not against people based on their religious or political views nor their sexual orientation.

"The very name of the label is one we do not wish to see on Virus releases, being the name of a chemical weapon used by the Nazis during WWII.

"We ask you, the fans to not buy this release - a product we don't approve - and supporting people whose views are totally against what we believe in - individual freedom and music as an artform rather than propaganda.

"We do not force our views upon anyone, but we hope you have the brains to think for yourselves."

Arch Enemy Adds Extra Mexican Tour Date

Arch Enemy has issued the following announcement about adding an additional Mexican tour date:

"Arch Enemy are delighted to announce a 2nd show in Mexico D.F. after the (rescheduled) first Mexico D.F. show has been sold out for months: 20-August - Mexico City, Mexico @ Circo Volador. The added 2nd Mexico D.F. show will take place: 23-August - Mexico City, Mexico @ Circo Volador.

"This event will see Arch Enemy playing a different ‘old school’ set, inspired by their upcoming studio release ‘The Root Of All Evil’ due in late September 2009. 'The Root Of All Evil' is a special release featuring a selection of completely re-recorded songs from the first three ARCH ENEMY albums, 'Black Earth', 'Stigmata' and 'Burning Bridges'. Note: The Monterrey, Mexico show has been moved up to a bigger venue: 22-August - Monterrey, Mexico @ UMA.

“Mexico, we are moving in, armed with a huge arsenal of heavy metal ammunition! It’s going to be a real challenge to add lots of new ‘old’ songs to our setlist – We have actually blocked more than 2 weeks for rehearsals for these 3 shows… We will go straight from the EU festivals into the rehearsal room, then headline Bloodstock Open Air, UK and fly straight on to Mexico. No rest, just the usual insanity!"

Impious Announces New Album Title

Impious has issued the following announcement about the title of their upcoming album:

"We have chosen DEATH DOMINATION as the title for our new album! The album will be released this winter through Metal Blade Records!

"The title symbolizes how death rules over all, and how man seeks to religion as a feeble comfort against what will happen when death takes us. Without death, religion is powerless. And only in death will religion fill it's purpose.

"It was extremely important to us that the title would fit our new songs and artwork perfectly. We needed a short yet powerful title that would show just how confident we are about our new material. This album will by far be the most crushingly brutal album we've ever made and we believe this title says it all!

"Drums and guitars are all recorded and Erik is right now finishing up the bass tracks. Meanwhile, Martin and Valle are finishing the lyrics for the album that Martin will begin recording in a couple of days. More...
