sleepmakeswaves Posts Band Update

Sydney post rock/metal band sleepmakeswaves has posted a band update online:

“It’s about time we give you all another update on the goings on with sleepmakeswaves…

“May brought us down through Canberra, Sydney and Wollongong to play the Prog Fest 2009 tour and a show in the ‘Gong which was a first for us. June also gave us the chance to finally play with friends from across the border These Hands Could Separate The Sky, along with our favourites Space Project and our first time sharing the stage with locals Bare Arms.

“In recent news, sleepmakeswaves were graciously invited to provide works for the BBC for their latest Empire of Cricket: Australia series. At present the doco has only been aired in England and Ireland and can be viewed by fans in those countries at this link. It may also be around elsewhere so keep an eye out.

“Tour wise, we have had a lot of demand to get across to Western Australia which we are in the process of planning at the moment and will hopefully (pending the state of the smw wallets) have an announcement regarding this within the next couple of months. Visits to Melbourne, Brisbane and potentially a tour of New Zealand are also on the horizon so watch this space! (if anyone in NZ can help us out, let us know!)

“We have also begun early pre-production for our next release(s). No details on this as yet as it’s all a seeeeecret at this stage!“

You can check out some of the band's music on their MySpace page.

Leng Tch'e Begins Work On New Album

Belgian death metal/ grindcore outfit Leng Tch'e has announced that they have begun work on their next studio album. A message from the band reads as follows:

"So it's been a while since our last update but that's because we've been crazy busy playing shows (UK Deathfest, Neurotic Deathfest, Gore Galore Fest, Suffering Life Fest - they all kicked ass) and writing songs for the next album. That's right, I said it! We currently have 14 songs ready for a total playing time of 35 minutes. The plan is to record drums at the end of this month, guitars and bass next month and vocals in September. Then it's off to England to mix and master that sucker with grindcore producer extraordinaire Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, BRUJERIA, VENOMOUS CONCEPT)! We couldn't be more stoked. The new material is fast, brutal and with that extra touch of Leng Tch'e special sauce that made "Marasmus" a heavy metal landmark, ha! Expect a release somewhere late 2009 / early 2010."
