Site Update

More DNS Issues

I've had a number of reports from Metalunderground.com readers that they cannot access the site today. Metalunderground.com has been up all day, but unfortunately our registrar's DNS server apparently changed IP addresses, which means that many people who do not already have our DNS cached cannot access the site for an unknown period while these name server changes propagate around the 'Net. This can take anywhere from an hour or two to 48 or even 72 hours. Apologies to those of you who were affected and could not access the site, but the issue is out of our control at this time. Thanks for your patience, as always.

Trigger The Bloodshed Parts Ways With Drummer

Trigger the Bloodshed has issued the following update about replacing their drummer Max Blunos with Dan Wilding of Aborted:

"Some of you may of heard rumors flying around over the recent weeks about Max leaving the band, We can now confirm that these rumors ARE true. For a little while Max has felt he has not been fulfilling the genre of music he wanted to persue with a band, although he has enjoyed every moment with trigger he just felt his heart was not in the music and has gone on to fill this void playing and creating music in a genre he is more passionate about.

"There are no hard feelings between Max and the band, he is still one of our best friends and we wish him all the luck and success in the world with his future projects.

"Now comes the question of who is to replace him. After speaking to a few people and trying out a few promising musicians we were contacting drummer Dan Wilding of legendary death metal band Aborted who offered his services to fill in for us during our upcoming Dominatour, after e-mails back and forth Dan expressed interest in taking over the drums full time and its as simple as that really.

"Dan learnt the songs, came to practice and he was the drummer for Trigger from the time the stick hit the skin for the first blast beat of the great depression. We are stoked to have Dan join the band and he has fitted in straight away and we can't wait to hit the road with him and play some fucking heavy riffs.

"Make sure you come check us out with Dan over the next month on the Dominatour along side Annotations of an Autopsy, Burning Skies and Viatrophy. And for those of you who don't know Dan or his skills on a kit hears a little video to wet your appetite. More updates coming soon."

Trivium’s Matt Heafy has this to comment about the tour: “North American headline tour... we meet again. It's been far too long since we've toured North America as a headliner and we're back with a vengeance. It's our time to come in for the final waves of 'Shogun' touring and party with our friends in the USA and Canada. Our live show, without a doubt in my mind, is now the strongest it has ever been; our sets are more diverse, tighter than ever and we've got some of the sickest current metal bands out with us to bring you one hell of a tour. This very well could be the last one for a while, so let's do this in style... we'll see you soon."

Crowbar Gets the Sludge Out in New Orleans

COG presents Crowbar.

It’s been a while since the sludge gods have played. Yes, they’ve been around town at other shows and have played with their other bands, but Crowbar is something that cannot be forsaken. For twenty years, they have been covering metalheads with a thick layer of Louisiana swamp muck that you’ll be hard-pressed to wash off. But with all of the rough past, drugs, bands, records and line-up changes (and, believe me, they’ve had a lot of line-up changes), Crowbar is still the king of sludge metal. On July 25th, they graced the stage of One Eyed Jacks in the heart of the historic French Quarter and killed. More...
