Finnish metal band, OMNIUM GATHERUM, has announced their new bassist as Toni 'zygä' Mäki.

The band comments, "We're glad to finally inform and make it public that mr. Toni 'zygä' Mäki is the official member of OG crew and fully responsible about the low-frequencies & bass duties of the gang."

"It was about time to officialize this as Toni have already been playing and touring with us one year and things are rocking and rolling like never before - glad to have u on board dude!"

Toni 'zygä' Mäki comments, "I joined the band at the end of the summer 2008, when the previous bass maestro Eerik Purdon had decided to leave and Jukka asked me to audition for the slot. After the audition and two weeks of intense practising I played my first gig in the ranks of Omnium Gatherum at the bands hometown festival, the Dark River, scared shitless and on a brink of a nervous breakdown... Despite of years of playing and countless gigs it felt like being on stage for the first time. The gig was followed up by consumption of a ridiculous amount of alcohol, a horrible hangover and an European tour with Nile and Grave. Which was nice. Soon after the tour I was offered a full membership in the band, which I gladly accepted. Since then we've been busy gigging, working on new material and making future plans. At the moment things look very promising for OG, we're constantly moving forward and ready for new challenges!"

OMNIUM GATHERUM has also announced another European tour in support of their latest album, "The Redshift," for November/December. Joining the band will be Swallow The Sun and Insomnium. Tour dates are as follows:
