The symphonic metal band Delain is one of those few studio experiments that worked, and worked well. What originated as a group of musicians working on a special project with Martijn Westerholt is now a full-fledged five member band that has released their own album, “April Rain,” and toured throughout Europe with female singer Charlotte Wessels at the forefront. Austrian metallers Mastic Scum have issued the following announcement about completing the recording of their upcoming album:
"After intense weeks in the studio we ended up recording 12 songs for our upcoming album. Everything went well in the recording-process, the result is fucking exciting and will be a blast for your speakers!

Norway's Pica Fierce has posted a cover of Cynic's "How Could I" on their MySpace page. The band comments on their final recording:
"Check out our cover-version of Cynic's 'How Could I.' We recorded this song late last year at Eiriks home studio and it's the last recording we did as a band."
"You may notice that the tempo is faster than the original but it still got the groove. New on this is that Øystein plays all the rhythm while Kjetil plays all the solos, it's the first time we did it like that."
Virginia melodic/technical death metal band ARSIS has announced that "Starve For The Devil" will be the name of the fourth studio album.
This release will mark the return of founding member/drummer Michael Van Dyne, who states:
"The new ARSIS record is coming along great - we have eleven new original songs nearly completed, as well as a cover song which will probably be used as a bonus track. Trinity Records has issued the following announcement about the line-up for the upcoming Asian Death Metal Festival:
"We, here at Trinity Music, with our desire to unify and to push the Asian Metal scene to worldwide recognition will be organizing an ASIAN DEATH METAL FESTIVAL (Tomahawk Metal Fest 4) this coming August 29, 2009 in Hong Kong.
