I, Omega Streaming Full New Album
I, Omega is excited to release debut album album "Transients," available everywhere today on Bullet Tooth. You can stream the entire release below.
I, Omega is a metal quintet from the Los Angeles area, dead set on creating a sound that is bold and unique, as well as easily digestible. Bullet Tooth comments:
"Shredding guitars with fast, upbeat drumming, beefy bass lines, and vocals ranging from angelic to devilish, all with a punk rock attitude. Their sound is heavy and complex, but also leaves room for rhythmic grooves and catchy choruses. I, Omega's music conjures up emotions crossing the spectrum of the listener's scope, from menacing and technical wizardry, to tasteful and subtle harmony that's sure to sway even the harshest of listeners. I, Omega is here to make a difference and defend the right to be different."
The band tracked debut album "Transients" in Southern California with producer Daniel Castleman, who has done recent albums for As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, Trivium, and many more. He comments: “I am grateful to be a part of the latest work 'Transients,' by I, Omega. I feel that the band has challenged themselves as musicians and artists to bring something fresh to their fans and reach out to some new ones.”
Singer and lyricist Clay Nevels commented on the new album: "Transients just seemed like the appropriate title for an album describing the past two years of our lives. We don't have any misconceived notions about who we are nor do we think what we're doing is important in the grand scheme of the world. We're not doctors, firemen, scientists, etc.... We make music, we scrap by, we struggle for everything we have, but it's a deliberate struggle and we appreciate the opportunities this life affords us." More...
Periphery Announces "Escape From The Studio" Tour
Progressive metal outfit Periphery will be emerging from the studio to hit the road this fall. For fans new and old this is the final tour supporting 2012’s sophomore release, "Periphery II," or as it’s known to die-hard fans, "This Time it’s Personal." The bill also features The Contortionist, Intervals, and Toothgrinder.
Sponsored by D’Addario and its family of musical instrument brands used specifically by Periphery (guitar/bass strings, Evans Drumheads and Promark Drumsticks) in conjunction with Bandhappy (founded by Periphery drummer Matt Halpern), the Escape From the Studio Tour begins September 18th.
The trek kicks off just as Periphery finishes up a third full-length, entitled "Juggernaut." Jeffrey Kaye, Global Director of Artist Relations at D’Addario states, “In our quest to find musicians that best represent our brands, occasionally we stumble upon an entire band who not only blow our minds as musicians, but who share our passion to push performances beyond the four walls of the stage. We’re delighted to be working with Periphery on this extraordinary tour."
Guitarist Misha Mansoor states, “We’ve all been in intense writing mode all year and are already itching to tour again. Drum tracking has wrapped and today the rest of us officially enter the studio for Juggernaut, so are excited to give the album cycle for Periphery II a proper send-off. With our good friends in The Contortionist, Intervals, and Toothgrinder, it is going to be a special swan song for the album.” More...

Winnipeg, MB death/doom metal band Psychotic Gardening is proud to announce an Eastern Canadian tour that will see the band perform dates in Ontario and Quebec in promotion of the new album "Hymnosis" (reviewed here). Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments:
"We're really excited about getting to play in Ontario and Quebec. It's going to be the first time at a lot of these places for us and so far the new album Hymnosis has been awesome to take out on the road. For us, we grew up listening to Voivod and Sacrifice, bands that we felt represented Montreal and Toronto extremely well, so we respect the history, and hard work that bands have done here, shaping the landscape we're about to march on. We're old school ourselves, and we want to bring our own dark sounds to old fans and new."

Mortuus Announces New Album
Mortuus is returning with a second full length album, "Grape of the Vine," reeking of the same despair and hopelessness of the first album, "De contemplanda Morte: De Reverencie laboribus ac Adorationis."
"Grape of the Vine" is set for international release on September 16th via The Afna Offensive. The label comments:
"The band’s previous work was exalted for a feeling of being 'lightless' and 'dreary as Hell' and characterized by the ubiquitous references to "atmosphere"- being a bleak, hopeless, mid-paced exaltation of Death. It might sound trite given the dearth of bands touting their authenticity and grimness within the realms of death and black metal, but a simple reading of the lyrical content here simply belies the fact that there is an egregore that penetrates deeper than that of skin and mortality.
"This new material finds the band exploring the dark tunnels and empty shells that lurk beyond the shallow grave previously mined on the first full-length, De contemplanda Morte: De Reverencie laboribus ac Adorationis. And, as with the previous material, the sound is clear and organic and chillingly eerie.
"Grape of the Vine offers a panorama of Death’s landscape slightly more dimensional than that of the first album - not so much so that people will question the fleshing out of the implements deployed, but enough that people will not accuse the band of repeating the past."
The new album's track listing is as follows:
1. Layil
2. Grape of the Vine
3. Torches
4. Sulphur
5. Disobedience
6. Nemesis
7. Tzel Maveth More...

SupreMa Announces New Lineup
Brazilian act SupreMa announced changes in their lineup as lead vocalist Pedro Nascimento and drummer Fernando Castanha have departed the band due to musical differences. In order to continue the tour in support of the 2012 debut album "Traumatic Scenes" tour, the band announced the return of the experienced drummer Helmut Quacken, who had been in the band from 2008 to 2011 and who performed on the debut release, as well as three tours with the band in the North/Northeast of Brazil Quacken has also worked with Glory Opera and Dominus Praelli.
To take over as the new voice of SupreMa, newcomer Diogo Noleto was recruited.
Guitarist Douglas Jen (ex-Dark Avenger) commented on the lineup changes: "I can only thank the former members for the good moments and wish them good luck in their career. Many times our lives point at different paths and basically that's what happened. For the past few months SupreMa has been working day and night for this second leg of the tour in support of the album and I'm extremely happy and motivated with this new lineup. We took new breath, new energies, people with 'blood in the eyes,' willing to lift SupreMa's name and also Brazilian metal even higher all over the world, and that's what I can say SupreMa is today, a team that's totally focused on work and with a lot of fuel for the next steps.
"I'm thrilled to have Helmut back in the band, last year he played a show with us in Manaus without one rehearsal whatsoever and it was amazing, the chemistry that we have when we're playing is scary! I'm also happy with Diogo Noleto joining us, a simple and charismatic guy who will surely enchant every fan of the band right away. He's an amazing singer that got me and the whole band and crew amazed even before his first audition with us. His voice is HUGE and I have no doubts it will surprise all fans of the band. Be it in the heavy parts, be it with his clean voice or even the feeling progressive metal needs, he surprises during each second of the song. He has an unique voice and I wish for every fan enjoying with us this new Brazilian talent. With these guys full of fire we will climb the next steps we are aiming for."
The new lineup will have its debut performance scheduled soon and will announce the date and location in the next few days.
Bassist Fabio Carito commented: "We are super excited about this new stage and new cycle, this year when SupreMa has its 10th anniversary is a very special year and we are preparing a few releases with this new lineup, we can't wait to be able to announce the news and show the fans the new sound that's coming ahead."
In addition, SupreMa will announce other news as the band celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. More...
