Today, Khold has teamed up with Pitchfork.com to launch the album's title track in the latest installment of the "Hell Awaits" column. Check out the song at this location.
"Til Endes" explores the dark foreboding corners of the metal spectrum with eerie riffs, grim vocals courtesy of mysterious frontman Gard, and catchy hooks which are so often ignored in the genre.
The album was recorded at Studio Fredman (Amon Amarth, At the Gates, Opeth) in Sweden in June 2014 with the line-up of Gard (vocals/guitar), Sarke (drums), Rinn on guitar and Crowbel on bass. "Til Endes" also notably includes a cover of the Sepultura track "Troops of Doom," given the full Khold treatment and titled "Dommens Arme." More...

After the success of our DevilDriver giveaway in June, we’re inviting South Florida residents (or any able/willing to attend) to see The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin, and Alterbeast on Monday, October 13th. If interested, email email@example.com with subject heading “Black Dahlia Murder,” and submit your full name matching your ID.
Even if you can’t make it, lend us a hand and share our giveaway far and wide on social media; the more popular it gets, the more we can spread this experiment nationwide and to a venue near you.
Next, co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) weighs in with a rather prickly and pessimistic insight on the longterm effects of Internet culture on the music/metal scene, specifically the downsides (and there are always downsides).
The downloading issue has been talked to death, but Mike sees some mass psychological implications at work here as well, and they do not bode well for the future. His hypothesis: due to the increased platform the Web offers to egoistic, insecure, and often talent-starved amateurs, there will never again emerge a tremendously popular, universally loved rock ’n’ roll band, much less a metal band. Listen in to hear his full thoughts on the matter.
Finally, Kevin offers a detailed review of the new self-titled album from Darkest Hour, which boasts a new rhythm section and a potentially divisive new direction in style - although Kevin puts up a passionate and justified defense on the album’s behalf. Do you agree?
Unsacred Seed has issued the following announcement about parting ways with bassist Eric Gallivan and canceling tonight's show:
"Unfortunately we have some bad news. Our bassist, Eric, will no longer be playing with us. He got a last minute teaching job over-seas and had to leave immediately to get ready for the September semester. We wish him the best of luck and hope he comes back to visit ASAP!
"However, because of this short notice, we won't be able to get a replacement for the show tonight, so we had to pull of the bill. At the last minute, Nihility were able to take our place, and we can't thank them enough!
"We are currently trying to find a permanent replacement, and have some great bassists in mind. But if your interested in the gig, don't hesitate to message us!
"So come on out to the Richmond tonight and support the scene! The rest of the band will still be there tonight if you wanna say hi." More...

The blog Doomed & Stoned has put together an extensive compilation of underground heavy bands in Portland, Oregon, which features Ape Machine's "Angry Man," Blackwitch Pudding's "Swamp Gas Of The Nevermizer," and a whole lot more. The site's founder, Billy Goat, comments:
"Portland, Oregon is known for many things--it's the 'Rose City,' clustered around the mighty Willamette River and nearby Mt. Hood, the home of Nike and the Trail Blazers, even a major network television show called Portlandia.
"But to the hard working locals, Portland is home two the two big things that really matter: brews and bad-ass rock 'n' roll. Doomed & Stoned in Portland is a snapshot of the heavy music scene right now in Portland--from the ever-popular Red Fang, Lord Dying, and Toxic Holocaust, to rising stars such as Sons of Huns, Ape Machine, and Drunk Dad.
"Most of all, here is a collection of bands with a strong DIY ethic--everything from experimental metal to a distinct brand of Northwest punk to the ultra-heavy metal doom giants like Graves at Sea, Usnea, and Stoneburner. Not to mention the bands that just like to "Keep Portland Weird" (Blackwitch Pudding, Pinkzilla, Big Black Cloud). Over 65 bands waiting for you to lend them your ears--and a free download, to boot. You may just discover your next favorite bands."

Baltimore’s salty hardcore heroes in Old Lines have revealed plans to release their full-length album, "No Child Left Behind," on October 14th via No Sleep Records.
“This record in general is about somewhat taking the focus away from corporations and the lawmakers that support them, and instead taking responsibility for our own part in letting them do it,” says vocalist Matt Taylor. “As long as people remain silent and apathetic to what's happening around them, these issues will multiply, and the repercussions will become more severe for the earth and everything on it. In 2014, we don't have the luxury of ignorance anymore.”
Apathetic behavior is a theme that runs throughout the new record, including on the band’s new track “Traps.” The song puts society on blast for turning a blind eye for so long to the destruction of our planet and the resulting changes in climate.
“Traps is a song about how we all are responsible for the state our environment is in, and (more specifically) our collective regret that these issues have reached such a catastrophic degree,” Taylor adds. “We've ignored countless warnings from scientists all over the world for the sake of our own personal convenience. Only now, as the damage is becoming more visceral and the earth as we know it is in a tailspin, are people starting to admit that issues such as global climate change have real consequences and demand attention. However it's all just a little too late. We set the traps ourselves, and now we're crying that we're caught in them.” More...

Loudwire.com is celebrating the announcement with an exclusive North American stream of the album’s first single, "The Devil’s Whip." Stream the track right here.
Vocalist Ben Ward says: “this song is a real old-school banger stuffed full of riffs, sleaze, filth, and speed… just like the best metal should be! It’s Motorhead-style, outlaw-biker rock in all its glory, destined to get heads banging, fists pumping, drinks flowing and asses shaking. If you don’t find yourself breaking the speed limit to this song, desperate to find the roughest bar in town, start a fight and spending the night in a cell, then you are quite clearly already dead. Let’s ride, let loose, let’s rip… that’s right, you can’t escape The Devil’s Whip.” More...

Mesopotamian black/thrash metal act Melechesh is currently in Athens, Greece recording a 6th full-length album to be released worldwide via Nuclear Blast on a as-yet undisclosed date.
The band spent one month in a rehearsal room in Germany tweaking all the details and will spend the next six weeks in Athens recording the new album, tentatively entitled "Enki." Commented band leader Ashmedi:
"Again we chose to record in a Mediterranean area to capture the Melechesh essence. We have many good friends here and have toured with some Greek bands over the years and everyone here is being very helpful to this work. In keeping with our tradition all songs are diverse and tell different stories both lyrically and musically, from the black thrash to the ritualistic tribal tunes to the more in your face rocking and neck breaking songs.
"Last couple of years where extremely challenging for me and this rubbed on the album for the better, abstract moods such as post-enlightenment depth, sonic magick, anger and retribution. Metaphorically speaking, it is a Sumerian sonic deluge to cleanse us from drones, parasites and insects interpret that as you see fit." More...
