"We are extremely excited to announce that we have entered Tommy Vetterli's renowned New Sound Studio in Switzerland!
"Not only are we recording some of the new material we've been working on for months now, but we have decided to break with current conventions (and restrictions!) and deliver the results to our fans mere weeks after recording - FOR FREE.
"Rather than waiting years to produce a new album, we have chosen to pick two favorites out of all the material we've written and to record them with Tommy Vetterli (Eluveitie, 69 Chambers) - one of the genre's best producers today, less than a year after the release of our debut album. We are doing so independently and on our own terms!
"A first song will be released later this Summer and we can't wait to share it with you. In the meantime, follow us on Facebook for more updates, including another pretty exciting announcement within the next 24 hours!"

As the kick-off date for San Bernardino, CA was ramping up and the fans were lining up, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival main stage closing artist Rob Zombie was doing a bit of heavy metal double tasking: filming behind-the-scenes for History's “Counting Cars” latest episode, in which the Count’s Kustoms crew delivers a custom macabre-style overhaul on Rob’s 1967 Ford F-100.
The premiere episode, partially filmed on location at the Mayhem Festival kick-off date, will air on Tuesday, July 16th at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central Time. The following press release was also issued:
"Although the crew at Las Vegas based Count’s Kustoms are not new to the game, the finished product was no small feat. History's 'Counting Cars' star Danny 'The Count' Koker and his crew had just seven days to work on the truck and deliver it to Rob at the San Bernardino, CA kick-off— a turnaround faster than they’ve ever experienced on any project. Starting on July 19th in Camden, NJ, Rob Zombie’s 1967 Ford F-100 will be touring with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. More...

Check out the pulverizing "All Revealing Eye" in the player below. You can also pick up a digital copy of "Second Circle" when it releases July 23rd via Monolithic Records. The EP's track listing is as follows:
1. All Revealing Eye
2. Ever Devourer
3. Circle to Feed
4. I Receiving All
Gyre comments on the track: "We want to put out 'All Revealing Eye' first because we feel it really showcases the full dynamics of the band. The song moves from groove metal to rock metal to tech metal and is built with bridges along the way. The structure and build-up of the song is something we focus on all the time in this band. The song lyrics deal with the idea that our senses are filters and not receptors. Image yourself hearing all the frequencies that are buzzing around you constantly, usually imperceptible to the human ear. Image all the spectrums of color indistinguishable from the next because your eyes couldn't filter and make sense of them. Your known world would crumble into senselessness. Our senses have one purpose: to give us a better chance to survive in this world. Not to tell the whole truth of what is actually around you, but to keep you alive."

Irish post black metal act Altar Of Plagues is to end this year. The band's final release "Teethed Glory and Injury," out now via Profound Lore Records, will be its last. Multi-musician James Kelly (Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals, Drums) made the following announcement about the band's ceasing of activities on Facebook:
"Altar of Plagues will conclude this year.
"I decided before writing 'Teethed Glory and Injury' that it would be our final album. It was executed with this fact in mind. I can state it no more simply than this; it is time to move on.
"We considered whether or not we would say anything at all regarding this. But at the very least, we would like to give people an opportunity to see us perform again should they care to. And so, these upcoming shows will be our final.
"Our very final performance will be on October 19th, at Unsound Festival Poland. As a festival that celebrates the eclectic and the eccentric, I can think of no other place that would be more appropriate for this occasion. It is exactly the type of environment in which I have always aspired to share our work, and it will be a celebratory occasion to conclude at what I believe will be the peak of our existence as a group.
