Internal Bleeding Gets Aroused By Disasters
NYC death metal squadron Internal Bleeding is pleased to unveil the official new video for "Fabricating Bliss."
The crushing hymn comes by way of the band's "Imperium" full-length released last year via Unique Leader Records. To hear more from the album, check out the song "Placate The Ancients" at this location.
Filmed by director Kirk Farrington and adapted from a concept developed by bassist Jay Liff and vocalist Keith DeVito, the video for "Fabricating Bliss" was shot in a chaotic style to match the frenzied mind of the video's protagonist. The theme behind "Fabricating Bliss" revolves itself around the chaotic decent into the mind of someone who suffers from symphorophilia, a mental disorder in which sexual arousal is achieved by watching disasters and catastrophes. In this case, the disaster is a traffic accident.
"'Fabricating Bliss' is a great opening song for our 'Imperium' album," notes DeVito, "and we're really glad that we got the chance to do a video for it. Kirk really helped our vision come to life. We hope our fans dig it."
In related news, Internal Bleeding will be breaking the stage of the Hartford Deathfest next month as fest headliners:

In celebration of the official release of "Only The Ruthless Remain," today New York's death metal marauders from Skinless untether the fiery new album art video for closing number, "Barbaric Proclivity."
Bedecked in the sadistic grooves and flawless musicianship for which the band has become notorious and adorned in the harrowing cover illustration of Ken Sarafin, "Only The Ruthless Remain" features Skinless' now-classic, late '90s lineup of founding guitarist Noah Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac, with the addition of second guitarist, Dave Matthews. Mutilation Rites Contaminates All Of Metal
The Brooklyn-based black metallists from Mutilation Rites have unveiled an explicitly grim and dismal music video for “Contaminate,” a track from last year’s release “Harbinger.”
Directed and produced by guitarist Michael Dimmitt along with assistance editing from Mitchell Luna (Meruta), the video can be seen below. Dimmitt discussed the video’s creation process, stating:
“Coming up with the concept for the music video for ‘Contaminate’ was quite simple. The subject matter of the song deals with impending doom of the apocalypse, radiation sickness, and the suffering that war brings about in general. We combined disturbing archival footage from atrocities committed in the last century with a live show we played at Saint Vitus, in Brooklyn, to create a visual aesthetic to match the bleak subject matter and overall feeling of despair that we attempted to create when we wrote this song.” More...

Reverie Wants To Give You "Bliss"
Invictus Productions is proud to present the debut album of a new band that will soon be spoken of far and wide: Denmark's Reverie and the "Bliss" debut. Invictus comments:
"The band's odd choice of the moniker Reverie speaks volumes about their singular, idiosyncratic songcraft, and the title 'Bliss' even more so. Far from 'tech' death metal and yet also realms removed from 'epic metal' cliche, the nine songs across Bliss burst into being and then billow into myriad, mesmerizing shapes.
"The rush in which Reverie plays is exciting, urgent, fiery beyond compare; not yet age 20, each member's abundant energy shines through. But despite their collectively young years, Reverie have already absorbed an ageless wisdom in their songwriting, layering nuance upon nuance, detail upon detail, whilst ever mindful of a sharp, scintillating hook.
"It's a sound that stacks up well alongside other young mavericks like Morbus Chron and especially Tribulation, for whom Invictus released the transitional landmark 'The Formulas of Death,' but Reverie well and truly have nailed down their own sound with 'Bliss.' The bandwagon begins now, and 'Bliss' is the first ride into the unknown..." More...

Avulsed Erects The "Altar Of Disembowlment"
Two years after "Ritual Zombi," the Spanish death metal mongers from Avulsed return with a new recording - a five song EP entitled "Altar of Disembowelment" that marks the band's recording debut with new drummer Erik Raya.
Stylistically, "Altar of Disembowelment" continues the unmistakeable sound of Avulsed, forged over almost 25 years, but this time a bit heavier and darker than before. The EP was recorded in three different studios and mixed at Overhead Studios by Raúl Fournier "Furni," the ex-drummer of Avulsed between 1994-2004 for a later mastering at Unisound Studios by Dan Swanö.
Besides four original songs, the EP also includes a cover of Black Sabbath's "Neon Knight" that was initially recorded in late 2010 for a tribute album to Dio, re-recorded for this release. Due out September 9th, the track listing is:
1. To Sacrifice and Devour
2. Red Viscera Serology
3. Ceremony of Impalement

Desolate Pathway Heads "Into The Realms"
The traditional doom merchants from Desolate Pathway have unveiled plans for new material exploring a different direction than their debut album "Valley Of The King."
This upcoming release will be a two-track single, entitled “Into The Realms.” Guitarist Vince Hempstead has called it “a foot into our journey of Greek mythology.”
The A-side, entitled “Into The Realms Of Poseidon,” features Sorrows Path guitarist Kostas Salomidis for a dose of Greek authenticity. On the B-side is a five-minute instrumental entitled "Tales Of Glaucus," a prophetic sea-god who came to the rescue of sailors and fishermen.
Along with the usual digital formats, there will be a limited amount of CDs available at the Fest Of Hades performance in Wakefield, UK. In addition, the group's second album is on the horizon, with a tentative deadline of early 2016.
“Into The Realms” has a release date of October 31st, 2015 to tie in with the Fest Of Hades performance that day. See the band live: More...
Venomous Concept Signs With Season Of Mist
Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of international grind collective Venomous Concept. The band, featuring members of Brutal Truth and Napalm Death among others, will release a new album via Season of Mist in 2016. Regarding the signing, the band comments:
"It's been a long time coming, distractions happen, chaos happens… life happens… But hey, still here - still killing it… still grinding... couldn’t be more happy to be with Michael and Gordon and the Season of Mist people.
"Couldn’t think of anyone better suited to get our friends and family the attitude adjustment they needed… so I hope you guys check it out, throw a few pints down and smash, we sure did. Be sure to bring your drinking money to the show!"
Paying homage to the legendary Poison Idea amongst other hardcore/punk stalwarts, Venomous Concept was conceived as grind/punk collective featuring two of the genre's leading figures: Brutal Truth vocalist Kevin Sharp, and guitarist Shane Embury of the iconic Napalm Death.
Rounding out the lineup, the band enlisted the talents of Danny Herrera of Napalm Death on drums, Dan Lilker (Brutal Truth, Anthrax, and more) on bass, and Corrupt Moral Altar's John Cooke on guitar. More...

My Dying Bride Wants You To "Feel The Misery"
Legendary U.K. gothic doom act My Dying Bride announced that the forthcoming 13th full length studio album will be entitled "Feel the Misery." The album drops on September 18th via Peaceville Records.
With crushing epic doom spanning eight tracks, and featuring the return of original guitarist Calvin Robertshaw to the fold, this is undoubtedly amongst the band's heaviest, darkest and most majestic works to date, marking My Dying Bride's 25th anniversary in punishing style, with the title track also set to feature as the album's debut video.
"Feel the Misery" sees a notable return to the band's old haunt, Academy Studios in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, for recording where all of My Dying Bride's classic early albums were produced. Mixing once more takes place at Futureworks in Manchester, U.K. with the band's long-time studio engineer/producer, Mags.
The band commented on the themes of Feel the Misery: "Contained within are all the grandeur and mastery of the melancholic one would expect to find on a recording from this group of musicians.
"The crushing of hearts and the solemn farewells to friends and lovers twinned with the destruction of flesh and the passions of cruelty are laid neatly for the listener to devour and savour.
"Eight new compositions detailing the path of life through dark doors and the burdens we all must endure simply to make it to the end, My Dying Bride have returned with a foreboding new album which may enlighten, delight and consume the soul in one epic sitting."

Caligula's Horse Signs With InsideOut Music
Brisbane based progressive alternative tour-de-force Caligula's Horse are on course for a stellar finish to 2015, with the huge announcement that they have signed with record label InsideOut Music (of the Century Media family). The band's latest release is "The Tide, the Thief, and River's End," released in October 2013 via Welkin Records.
Founder and CEO of InsideOut Music, Thomas Waber had this to say about the signing: "Australia is home to many great bands and we are thrilled and excited to start working with Caligula's Horse, one of the most exciting Australian bands we have heard in quite a while!"
Vocalist Jim Grey echoed Waber's comments, "Over the moon, man! Over the moon. This is a huge step for us - we're thrilled to be working with Inside Out, not to mention the honour of sharing a roster with some of our musical heroes...we're all absolutely stoked!".

Witchsorrow Announces "No Light, Only Fire"
U.K. doom metal act Witchsorrow, returns after three years removed from the lead-weight doom of 2012's apocalyptic "God Curse Us" with the new album "No Light, Only Fire." The album is expected to drop on September 18th via Candlelight Records.
The album was recorded once again with Skyhammer Studios producer Chris Fielding (Electric Wizard, Primordial, Winterfylleth, Serpent Venom) and features the eight tracks of bone-shaking doom that picks up right where its predecessor left off. But where that album called for Armageddon, "No Light…" is the grisly horror of survival.
"On our last album, I was hoping for a catastrophe, for something enormous to come and end everything. But there was no final ending, we're left just picking through the ashes," explains frontman Necroskull. "The people from 'God Curse Us' have got worse, everything's become more weakening, but I've stopped hoping for everything to end. I can't even hope for that anymore!"
As ever, Witchsorrow's trademark mix of Sabbath-worshipping true doom, heavy metal thunder and misanthropy rings throughout the whole album like a funeral bell. Comparison's to Saint Vitus, Electric Wizard, Reverend Bizarre and Trouble are all valid, and indeed welcomed by these doom fanatics.
The track list for the album is:
1. There Is No Light, There Is Only Fire
2. The Martyr
3. Made of the Void
4. Negative Utopia
5. To the Gallows
6. Disaster Reality
7. Four Candles

Graspop Metal Meeting: Day Two
Following an excellent start to the festival the day before, it was exciting to wake up to another day of metal music in Dessel. There was once again plenty on display for head bangers of all tastes, from legendary bands to current favourites. There were also plent of cult heroes performing on this day, one of which was the first band on the agenda.
Formed in 1991 under the name Resurrection in Israel, Orphaned Land have gone on to become one of, if not the premier metal band from the Middle East. Part of what makes them such an endearing group is their constant devotion of their music to peace, particularly between the Abrahamic religions that clash more than anywhere around their homeland. They were a great way to start the day, possessing a fantastic energy that got plenty of the crowd moving, which is quite an accomplishment for midday at a festival. Opening with the title track to their latest album, "All Is One," they oozed a positive atmosphere and most heads that were banging were also smiling. Having only a forty minute set, it was impressive that the band were able to fit seven songs into their schedule, with the excellent "Separi" being a particular highlight, in part due to the guest appearance of a Dutch Muslim belly dancer, who also joined the group for their finale, which was a medley of "Norra el Norra" and "Ornaments of Gold." Like several bands the day before, Orphaned Land were highly impressive and one that needs adding to the metal fans list of bands to see live. More...

Urizen Parts With Drummer
Texas band Urizen just issued the following statement online about parting ways with the group's drummer:
"Friends, it is with sadness that we announce that we are parting ways with our long-time brother, drummer, and co-founding Urizen member Julio Escamilla. We have reached a point where our lives are leading us in different directions, and it is no longer possible for Julio to continue on with the band.
"We are parting on good terms, and there are no words to express the value that Julio has brought to this project with his skills as a drummer, his friendship, and his commitment to furthering the UriCause throughout the years. Be on the lookout for his insanely fast feet to show up in new and exciting musical projects very soon!
"We would also like to announce that we will be joined on all upcoming endeavors by our good buddy Nolan McCormick, who filled in behind the kit for Julio during our 25-date tour with Psychostick and Downtown Brown this past spring. Nolan brings his own set of killer skills to the table, and we're looking forward to continuing to rock with him as we barrel down this crazy robo-filled path we're on!
"We've got lots of fun stuff to share with you all soon, but for now, please join us in thanking Julio for everything he's done for this band since we first jammed on Dimmu Borgir covers with him all those years ago! Never stop a-rockin', dudes and dudettes!"
Act Of Defiance Posts Music Video
Act Of Defiance (Chris Broderick, Shawn Drover, Matt Bachand, and Henry Derek) is gearing up to release debut album "Birth and The Burial" on August 21st via Metal Blade Records.
After streaming the first track "Throwback" yesterday, a music video for the track is now online and can be seen below.
Shawn Drover comments: "Making the video in LA for 'Throwback' with Corey was the easiest and most focused video shoot I have ever been a part of. The concept was very 'old school metal' In nature with just smoke, lights, the band and METAL! What a concept. We all shared the common vision of just being a Metal band captured on film and Corey got it right away. Corey and his entire crew were a sheer joy to work with."
Chris Broderick adds: "It was awesome working with Corey Soria on the music video. He had the same vision as us and understood immediately what the song was trying to say and how it should look. Along with the insight he had, there was a tireless work ethic, doing different angles, pans and trying new ideas as he conceives them is an art in itself. When we looked at the first edit, my jaw dropped and then he came back with more that included post editing FX that added to the mood. From the camera angles, to the lighting and editing this video far surpassed what I hoped for." More...
