UMC - promoters for the Original and World's Largest Cruise Festival, 70,000 Tons of Metal - broke its five month silence, announcing a slew of acts for the upcoming 2016 edition of the cruise. Bands announced thus far: Iced Earth, Lacuna Coil, Fleshgod Apocalypse, DragonForce, Delain, At the Gates and Firewind. Three more acts are expected to be announced today (completing the first 10 in 24 hours).
In 2016, 70,000 Tons of Metal will set sail on February 4th-8th from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. No destination has yet been announced. The festival boards a new vessel, The Independence of the Seas (via Royal Caribbean), which will accommodate four stages. The All-Star Jam band, which returned this past January will also be back, led by Annihilator's Jeff Waters and members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live.
All the information on the festival can be found at 70000tons.com.
