Psychostick is also gearing up for a tour, with the band commenting: "Like Bruce Campbell fending off the Deadites, we have to load our van up like a boomstick and unleash jagged, chunky musical shards of METAL upon the country with Wolfborne. We're even headin' up to Canada this time! First they'll wanna kill us, then they'll wanna kiss us." More...

Relapse Records is proud to present "Forgive Yourself," the debut album from Publicist UK, a post-punk four piece comprised of members of Municipal Waste, Revocation, Goes Cube, Discordance Axis, Burnt By The Sun & more. The label comments:
"As one of the most intriguing cross-genre debuts in recent years, 'Forgive Yourself' is a nine song showcase sounding like Michael Gira (Swans) on a Saul Bellow bender whose dark and cerebral mood is lifted by the booming baritone of vocalist Zachary Lipez. Check out a stream of the album’s first single, 'Levitate The Pentagon,' below. 'Forgive Yourself' will be released on Friday, August 21 and digital pre-order for the album can be found via Bandcamp and physically here now.
"Originally conceived as a long-distance experiment, Publicist UK quickly and effortlessly became a fully functioning band. Featuring Dave Witte (Municipal Waste, ex-Burnt by the Sun, Discordance Axis, Melt-Banana), Zachary Lipez (ex-Freshkills), Brett Bamberger (Revocation, ex-East of the Wall), and David Obuchowski (Goes Cube, Distant Correspondent), many expected speedy, aggressive metal. Instead, the band defied expectations with 'Forgive Yourself' by creating nine rousing songs that are as moody and melodic as they are heavy and driving.
"After writing and rough-recording songs from the band members’ respective homes in Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Colorado during its early days, Publicist UK released two demos that went on to be featured by both Decibel and Noisey. Shortly thereafter, the band signed to Relapse Records and recorded its full-length in New Hampshire at The Wild Arctic Studio with producer Dean Baltulonis." More...
Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Miami, FL noise rock quartet Wrong (not to be confused with the Spanish black metal band of the same name signed to Xtreem Music).
Formed in 2014 from the ashes of Capsule, Wrong consists of Eric Hernandez - Guitar/Vocals, Brian Hernandez - Drums, Andres Ascanio - Bass, Ryan Haft - Guitars and released debut EP "Stop Giving" last October via Robotic Empire.
The band hit the road in the spring with fellow Relapsers Torche and Nothing and quickly caught the label's attention. Now Wrong is preparing another run of U.S. dates with House of Lightning set to kick off June 19th in Orlando, FL. A complete listing of dates is available below.
Wrong will enter the studio August 18th at the recently relocated PineCrust studios in Gainesville, FL to put the finishing touches on a debut full-length, which will see it's release next year via Relapse. Additionally, vocalist/guitarist Eric Hernandez commented on the signing:
"We have way too much fun. We all grew up together listening to the same music, playing in the same bands, talking all the same shit, etc. So when we decided lets just get together and play what we've always wanted to play, it's just fun . We really like what we do. All of sudden we 're hitting the road for a second time in late June 2015, and it's with our boys House of Lightning.
"Relapse has been around almost as long as we've been into music. Not just putting out the some of the most extreme riffs out there, but working with some of the best bands doing it then, and right now. In other words, it feels right going with Relapse for our first LP. They get what we like to do, so we 're going to keep doing it. After all, it's damn good fun." More...

2015 sees Portland trio Rabbits celebrating ten years of antagonizing audiences with diseased auditory droppings, with a new pile of live shows locked up and plans of an extremely limited 8-track retrospective release.
The news of Rabbits' tenth anniversary is met with equal amounts of riotous ovation as it is with hurled rotten cabbage and jeers, as the infamously loathed/loved horde gets gnarly this summer. A tenth anniversary show is set to go down on July 1st in Portland; for this extravaganza of idiocy, the band is creating special merch and swag, including an exceptionally limited run (12-ish) of 8-track cassette retrospective release collection.
Early Eolian Empire act Gone To Croatoan will also perform, and the event will feature cuts by longtime compatriot DJ Wroid Wrage who will bust out the turntables again. The event will be filmed/recorded for posterity. What could go wrong?! $5 entry lands you a free copy of the band's first 7" or Flexihead postcard.
A week following the gala, Rabbits will play the band's hometown with Arabrot, Ghold and Towers, and later in July and August sees the band hitting Portland and Seattle several more times.

"Got a new album coming your way in September called 'Innocence & Decadence.' It's gonna be an album filled to the rim with a little bit of this - and for all of those who might wonder or worry - there will be quite a lot of that on it as well. We've had a great time recording the album at the 'gemytliga' Atlantis Studios in Stockholm together with Janne Hansson and Johan Lindström. And after kinda being away from our daily routine as a touring band and the thrill of a new album on its way ..... we wanna leave you with. Good to be gone, great to be back and let there be September!“ More...

Only a few days left until the masters of cinematic metal - Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody - will release new album "Prometheus - Symphonia Ignis Divinus" via Nuclear Blast (June 19th in Europe and June 30th in the U.S.).
Today, the band releases the first part of a series of trailers, which includes album excerpts and can be heard below. You can also read our review here. Luca Turilli comments:
“The music and lyrics of Rhapsody are generally inspired by science, metaphysics, myths and legends, the mysteries of the universe and much more. All these topics are related with one basic and fundamental source of inspiration that I would define as 'spiritual evolution.' In my life experience I felt always attracted by what hides behind the miracle of creation. I always tried to find an answer to all the common philosophical questions: from where we come, where do we go and which is the sense of all this, what really hides beyond the illusion of space and time, what happens after our physical death and all that.
"In particular I was very interested in understanding more about that primordial original spiritual source that was later manipulated by man, in a more or less wise way, and that gave birth to all religions. I started finding the first important answers to this kind of questions in the second part of my life, after some particular events happened to me and that changed my life vision once for all. From that moment, mainly thanks to the constant practice of yoga and meditation, I started exploring the possibilities of the human brain and the relation between the material world and the spiritual dimension surrounding us, finally starting to understand where the key lies for the comprehension of all things.
"As these subjects became fundamental in my daily life, it is natural I felt the need to express all this also through the music and lyrics of my Rhapsody band. The song 'Il Tempo Degli Dei,' in particular, is very special for me as in the middle section of the same track you can hear the real voice of the greatest Italian psychic, Gustavo Adolfo Rol (1903-1994), reading from the pages of his diary the famous words of what he defined as 'The tremendous Law,' that quantum gate discovered by him in 1927 and allowing him to gain access to a set of supernatural 'possibilities' that he used in the name of light and love. That song is dedicated to him as he is one of my greatest inspirations.” More...
Opensight has new material just around the corner - the London-based quartet has today dished the dirt on new EP "Ulterior Motives," a twisted blend of versatile influences that stretch far beyond the boundaries of metal, and even music. The following press release was issued about the EP:
"Dancing gleefully around pigeonholes, 'Ulterior Motives' draws from an eclectic lists of names: Devin Townsend, Opeth, Cynic, and various Mike Patton projects all have a hand in this whirlwind. The band are also inspired by film, as can be felt by the inclination towards composers such as John Barry and Ennio Morricone among others, as well as the movie poster feel of the EP cover below - designed by frontman Ivan David Amaya - and that’s not the last you’ll hear of the filmic side of the band either."
"Ulterior Motives" is due out September 9th and the track listing is as follows:
2. The Chase
3. Vanishing Point
4. Ulterior Motif
5. Antagonist More...

"All of the material was shot during our tour with Impalers this spring. If you were at one or more of the concerts, maybe you can spot yourself in the video?"

It will feature over 30 minutes of music which across three new tracks, scheduled to be released via Pagan Records in the autumn of 2015. The album artwork will be handled by Black Moon Design. Guitarist Static comments:
“This is the darkest and rawest Mord’A’Stigmata material to date but at the same time it features huge musical contrasts. It led us to places we have not visited and would have not dared to before. There is no return from this road, this is the next violent step into ruin.”

Refused has released "Dawkins Christ," a new song from upcoming album "Freedom" due out on June 30th via Epitaph and the band's first new album since 1998's "The Shape of Punk to Come." According to drummer David Sandström:
"The title refers to the famous biologist whose atheist theology has inspired a semi-cult who in turn sees him as a messianic figure, an irony that partly inspired the lyrics. The music draws from the film scores of Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone as well as pre-'Reign in Blood' Slayer."
Seventeen years ago Refused played a "final" show in a basement in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The show was shut down by police in the middle of that final set and days later the band published a manifesto online proclaiming: "Refused is fucking dead." Thus the legacy of Refused was born. This spring, in an unexpected turn, Refused announced the release of a new album. Hear what's in store below. More...
To be featured on forthcoming second full-length album "From The Shadows," South Carolina thrashers Prowler posted a new single and tribute to iconic punk rock outfit The Ramones. Check out "Pet Sematary" below.
The band comments: "This is the perfect punk song for us as a band to cover and crossover (punk metal) being that we write songs about classic horror movies. 'Pet Sematary' the movie, by Stephen King, is a classic in itself and since the last original Ramones member, Tommy, passed away back in 2014, we figured what a perfect tribute to give to the band that basically defined the punk rock sound, The Ramones!
"The Ramones influenced not just only the punk genre, but metal and other genres as well with their melodic and hooky choruses along with the raw energetic, distorted, blistering sound of their early years. All of us in Prowler are influenced by The Ramones in our own way musically. That raw live feel comes out in our live music as well as on our records. So what better song for us to cover than 'Pet Sematary'? We sincerely hope that Ramones fans will appreciate our version just as much as the classic!" More...

While staying on course with all traditional Royal Hunt´s musical values this one contains quite a bit of variety – from an up-tempo, double kick driven 'May You Never (Walk Alone)' to the bluesy 'Heart On A Platter' and probably our best ballad to date – 'Until The Day.'
