Child Bite Molests The Arts
With the imminent release of the "Strange Waste" EP now less than two weeks away, today Invisible Oranges hurls forth the tumultuous sounds of "Molestation Of The Arts" from Detroit punk/metal marauders, Child Bite. Check out the track below.
Captured at Russian Recording in Indianapolis, Indiana and produced by Child Bite, "Strange Waste" fuses all walks of extreme from metal, noise, and hardcore without falling squarely into any of one those genres.
Elaborates Child Bite vocalist Shawn Knight of the new track: "I am an artist and a designer. I often have internal debates about where the line is between the two; what is pure art, the difference between art and design, and is it ok for the two to blend. Sometimes it's clear, sometimes not so much.
"This song is a very cynical critique on the art director/ad agency side of things, coming from an artist's point of view. One way of looking at advertising is that it's pure manipulation; a commercial's job is to sell you a product or service; to make you want it more than the other options available. One tactic agencies use is hijacking whatever the latest trends are to seem hip... This way whatever they are selling comes off as 'cool.' Cool sells. That's what this tune is about; major corporations attempting to appear trendy in order to trick people out of their money." More...

Polar Releases New Music Video
Post-hardcore troupe Polar – currently amidst a European jaunt alongside Texan hardcore group Close Your Eyes – has unveiled a new music video for rallying single “Bloodlines” while the band is stuck in Nice, France awaiting repairs on the tour van.
"'Bloodlines’ really means a lot to me,” proclaims vocalist Adam “Woody” Woodford. “Lyrically, it comes from a hard time for me and my family. I won’t name names, but it turns out that one of the family members was stealing from another and then they became very hostile towards my side of the family and that’s where the line ‘living with a death wish’ comes from. On a more positive note, it’s one of my favourite tunes to play live, so come down and party with us on the BWP tour in December – we can’t wait!”

Khynn Announces New Album
Three years after the release of first album "Any Fear Calms Down," the French metallers from Khynn will be back very soon with a brand new full-length effort called "Supersymmetry."
The album is expected for early 2015 with two music videos, and the following press release was also issued about the band:
"Khynn was created in 2004. The band, based in Besançon (France), released a 7-track EP called 'Breakin' the Fury' in 2007. This first one delivers a heavy trash melodic debut record, allying power and emotion: a blast of energy serving a limitless spirit.
"Then, some changes occurred in the original line-up: further broadening its musical universe. In 2011, Khynn released 'Any Fear Calms Down' an introspective, epic but effective effort with some progressive rock parts and a varied scope of influences going from Scandinavian to American metal."

Callisto Releasing New Single
Since the band's 2004 debut, "True Nature Unfolds," Callisto has sought out new ground in the post-metal genre.

Nightwish Posts Seventh Album Trailer
The symphonic metal band Nightwish is currently working on an upcoming new album that will feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen and is set for a release in Spring of 2015 via Nuclear Blast.
Today the band releases the seventh album trailer online. In this episode the band recaps the Summer recording. Check it out below.
Commented keyboard player and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen: “We are actually ahead of our schedule. Incredibly, Floor has sung about two songs a day. Marco cut the final bass parts in 1.5 days and Emppu did the rhythm guitars in a week. I think it was because everything was so well-rehearsed this time. We’ve tried to work more like a band.”
Added vocalist Floor Jansen: “Tuomas challenged me, using everything I have to offer. High, low, soft, whatever, but definitely lower stuff and very soft and intimate things. Something that more by coincidence was something that I kind of missed doing. Something I haven’t explored much and Tuomas wrote parts where I have to use this completely, where I have to go into it entirely. I’m very happy with what came out there.”

Goblin Rebirth Signs With Relapse
Relapse Records is extremely proud to announce the signing of Italian progressive instrumentalists Goblin Rebirth.
A new incarnation inspired by the legendary Goblin (the 1970's horror-synth / film score icons responsible for such soundtracks as Suspiria, Zombi and Tenebre) Goblin Rebirth came together after a short-lived reformation of the original group in 2009.
The new group contains the rhythm section of the original Goblin (drummer Agostino Marangolo and bassist Fabio Pignatelli, who both played on the classic soundtracks to Zombi/Dawn of the Dead, Suspria, Profondo Rosso/Deep Red and more), with the addition of Aidan Zammit and Danilo Cherni on keyboards and Giacomo Anselmi on guitar.
The band formed in 2010 and started with a live repertoire of Goblin hits and some unusual songs from more obscure Goblin soundtracks. The band members soon began creating new material and decided to look to the future, creating songs that grew out of an organic process, through a combination of individual compositions and jam sessions.
Now the first new recordings from Goblin Rebirth will see the light of day via Relapse in the Spring of 2015. The group's debut album was mixed and produced by Fabio Pignatelli, and recorded in Rome at Greta’s Sound, Zamusic Studios and Cherni Studio. The drums were recorded in Trani by Ciccio "Frums" Dettole at Scuola Sul Mare. The album was mastered by Bob Fix at BobFixMastering.
The group commented on the new material: "It was clear to us from the start that we wanted to do an album that in some way evolved from the original Goblin sound but also took a new direction reflecting the personalities of all the band members. The pieces all fell together to make up a story that loosely describes the destruction and rebirth of a strange creature. This is itself a loose metaphor referring to the band history." More...
Thorr-Axe Streaming Album's Title Track

Enslaved Posts New "Diary Of Mad Men"
Checking in once again from the studio, members of the Norwegian extreme progressive outfit Enslaved today offer a fourth installment in the seven-part “Diary of Mad Men” series, giving fans an insight into the orthcoming as-yet-untitled thirteenth studio album, set for an early 2015 release.
“Wow, time flies when you’re having a magical time,” states Enslaved guitarist & composer Ivar Bjørnson. “Already Friday, and Cato [Bekkevold, drummer] is doing his last tracking already. It will be a lot more quiet around the studio from now on. Doing stuff live has the benefit of several things being done at the same time, so Grutle [Kjellson, bassist & vocalist] is beginning to move on to some double bass (!) additions and we’re getting Ice Dale’s guitars over from his studio and added to the main sessions. This is shaping up big time. Tomorrow is a day off, kind of. Me, Cato, and Iver [Sandøy, co-producer] are using the up-and-running studio to record drums for another project – more on that another time.”
Enslaved bassist & vocalist Grutle Kjellson adds: “It is always a bit difficult - and that’s the beauty of it - to exactly pinpoint the direction of a new album before the final mix is done! However, I feel that this one will be quite the darker effort compared to our latest releases. It is leaning towards both our heavier albums and the darker side of ‘70s Rock, long and interesting songs with a laser-sharp edge. I hope and believe our fans will embrace it.”
Main recordings for the new album are taking place at Duper and Solslottet Studios in Bergen, Norway with additional recordings done at Conclave & Earshot Studios and Ivar Bjørnson’s Peersonal Sound Studios.
Additional experimentation and sonic exploration will be conducted deep in the woods of Valevåg south of Bergen.

Fun Fun Fun Fest Day 2: King Diamond
Austin was buzzing with chatter about King Diamond ever since Fun Fun Fun Fest announced he would be on this year’s bill. This performance marked the end of his “Halloween 2014” tour so many of these fans had followed his shows on You-Tube, social media and in various ‘zines. Friends on social media recalled their experience with KD in Houston and Dallas. His stage set up was no secret as was his sound, but this didn’t make it any less exciting. Watching a You-Tube video is no where near as satisfying as hearing him live in person. One could make a cursory glance through the audience and find fans with black-and-white painted faces, inverted crosses and other symbols worn by the King. More...
Opeth Announces 25th Anniversary Show
Opeth is set to celebrate the band's landmark 25th anniversary next year with a very special event at the London Palladium on October 18th, 2015.
The unique show, dubbed "An Evening with Opeth," will feature two sets from the retro rocking Swedes, including 2005's "Ghost Reveries" album in its entirety (which in turn is celebrating its 10th anniversary), plus a second set of tracks from the band's 25-year career.
Frontman Mikael Akerfeldt is looking forward to the show, and had this to say:
"The forces that be put up a very mystical and subtle little advert on the so called internet. Yes, we will celebrate 25 years of being Opeth in 2015 and this is reason enough to gather up the forces and play. For you. At the Palladium in London. Not sure if they have a dress-code there, as it is a posh little place. Do we care? No we don’t. It will be a pretty unique evening I reckon, hopefully free of technical difficulties. No thanks to Baal! With that said, we are a live band in the true sense of the word and you can never be certain. Regardless it will be a blast and I strongly advise you to think about attending. But don’t think for too long. It might cost you your seat! We’re currently on tour (Hey! Thanks European progrockdeathmetalheads! You are absolutely fantastic and we love you!) and I’m being called for, so gotta dash. Ta-ta!"
