Los Angeles outfit I, Omega has been tracking debut album "Transients" in Southern California with producer Daniel Castleman, who has done recent albums for As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, Trivium, and more. Castleman comments:
"I am grateful to be a part of the latest work 'Transients,' by I, Omega. I feel that the band has challenged themselves as musicians and artists to bring something fresh to their fans and reach out to some new ones."
The "Transients" album will be released on Bullet Tooth in early 2014 to coincide with U.S. touring. I, Omega released 5 song debut EP "The Ravenous" last year and you can listen to the title track below.
Singer and lyricist Clay Nevels commented on the upcoming album, "Transients just seemed like the appropriate title for an album describing the past two years of our lives. We don't have any misconceived notions about who we are nor do we think what we're doing is important in the grand scheme of the world. We're not doctors, firemen, scientists, etc.... We make music, we scrap by, we struggle for everything we have, but it's a deliberate struggle and we appreciate the opportunities this life affords us."
Guitarist Tommy Borboa adds: "We really tried to push the technical side and our abilities as musicians while still focusing on melody and memorable parts. After spending the majority of a year working on this record, I think we've come up with something unique and I'm beyond stoked on what we've created." More...

European metal outfit Nami has revealed a video for the song "Ariadna," taken from the recently released album "The Eternal Light of the Unconscious Mind." Check out the clip below, and the band also comments:
"The song 'Ariadna' is based on the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. In our own vision, Ariadna is the main character of the story and she's trapped in a labyrinth instead of Theseus. To reach the exit, she has to follow the light, the sun. She already knows the way, but she needs to rediscover it again to be free. The common thread is that the myth is represented by the alchemical symbol of gold or the sun. Ariadna finds these signs all around the maze she has created. The maze itself is an analogy of all the barriers and challenges that life puts in front of us and we need to overcome.
"The way Nami presents itself visually is something we deem to be really important and it was imperative that we take care of every detail. That's why we decided to shoot the video with Ibon Antuñano Totorika, a prize winning director, and for him to be involved in all stages of the production of the clip. With his guidance we feel we managed to transmit all the energy and emotions we put into this song in a visual way with this video. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!"
"It's not very often you meet a young band who appears to be an established one. That happened to me with Nami," comments director Ibon Antuñano Totorika "In my opinion, the video is following the same structure as the song itself, heavy parts and mellow moments with a kind of progressive atmosphere. Kicking off with frenetic breathless rhythms followed by slowed down parts and long takes, telling the story of Ariadna. Throughout the video I was looking to capture the individual and personal emotions through details, low-key images and creating an intimate look. I am very happy with the result and this is definitely one of my favorite videos." More...

Following the recent unfurling of the mammoth new "Drifting Towards The Edge Of The Earth" 2xCD full-length, Connecticut doom metal trio When The Deadbolt Breaks has released a brand new video from the album.
Directed/edited by Charlie Winthal and the When the Deadbolt Breaks' founding guitarist/vocalist, Aaron Lewis, the more than eleven-minute-long video tells the harrowing story for the third track of the album's first disc, "Sleeps In Burning Hills."
Just in time for the holiday season, Hate Eternal bass maverick J.J. Hrubovcak vomits forth Death Metal Christmas' "Hellish Renditions Of Christmas Classics," a twistedly unholy rendition of some of the season's darkest hymns.
Composed and produced by J.J. with vocals and artwork by brother/Monstrosity vocalist Mike Hrubovcak, "Hellish Renditions Of Christmas Classics" was engineered by Hate Eternal mastermind Erik Rutan and J.J., mixed and mastered by Brian Elliott at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, and boasts five deformed Christmas classics.
The following press release was issued about the album:
"Far from a campy holiday metal record, Christmas - Hellish Renditions Of Christmas Classics comes replete with updated arrangements, blast beats, double bass drum battery, hellbound guitar solos and new lyrics with a purpose. A death metal record first and Christmas album second, the themes of the hymns were used as a foundation for the music and can mostly be heard in the right channel. Everything else was built around the theme -- solo sections, intros, outros, harmonies, etc. It was important from the start that this album not be a joke, but a serious record that could survive outside of the Christmas season and thus the resulting symphony of sickness. Pentagram Chile releases new album, "The Malefice," today (November) 12th in North America. Last Rites is also now hosting a stream of a new track, "The Death of Satan," which can be heard below.
Guitarist/vocalists Anton Reisenegger comments on the song: "The Death of Satan is one of the most complex songs on the album. I really love the fact that you never know where it's going to take you next, musically speaking. It also has all the trademarks of our old demo material, but I think it sounds fresh and is totally relevant for today's metal scene, where artificial speed and technical trickery has become more important than real feeling.
"Lyrically, I think no one is shocked by satanic themes anymore, so I thought we might as well shock the metal community by proclaiming the Death of Satan. But the lyrics are actually about the philosophical contradiction and artificial construct that is the notion of good against evil." More...
The Kennedy Veil's new album "Trinity Of Falsehood" will be released worldwide on January 21st, 2014 via Unique Leader Records. Further info will be announced in the weeks to come. The band comments:
"We all feel that this album is exactly how we intended it to be and carries a much greater weight and impact which will lead us to be a formidable band in the death metal community and we, as The Kennedy Veil, stand firm in the belief that our disciples will enthusiastically devour this new evolution of our sound."
The following press release was also issued about the band:
"In 2009, the world bore witness to a whole new brand of brutality. Ascending from the depths of the Northern California Valley, The Kennedy Veil unleashed upon the scene their own fanatical perspective of American death metal.
"A quartet composed of Casey Childers (ex-Forktung), Gabe Seeber (Alterbeast, Decrepit Birth, ex-Wretched Dawn), Cody Walker (ex-Skribble) and Shawn Peterson, The Kennedy Veil recorded their first album, The Sentence Of Their Conqueror, with engineer Josh Williams at Metal Works Studios, and released a compilation of eight visceral tracks which quickly grabbed the attention of the metal underground. Indoctrine will release "Unto The Fall" digitally this coming November 29th, 2013 by Inverse Records. You can check out a video for the track "Fall" in the player below, and Inverse Records comments:
"Indoctrine is a 4-member metal band from Finland. While the band hasn't been around longer than since 2012 they have already established strong vision of what they want to do: to take the listener on a musical trip from Gothenburg to Oslo while giving them an honest Finnish ass-whooping. In other words, Indoctrine plays melodic death metal with strong influences of black metal - metal with great deal of intensity, melancholia and catchy melodies. That's the concept of Indoctrine's second EP 'Unto the Fall.' Enjoy the ride!"
