The symphonic metal band Nightwish is currently working on an upcoming new album that will feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen and is set for a release in Spring of 2015 via Nuclear Blast.

Today the band releases the seventh album trailer online. In this episode the band recaps the Summer recording. Check it out below.

Commented keyboard player and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen: “We are actually ahead of our schedule. Incredibly, Floor has sung about two songs a day. Marco cut the final bass parts in 1.5 days and Emppu did the rhythm guitars in a week. I think it was because everything was so well-rehearsed this time. We’ve tried to work more like a band.”

Added vocalist Floor Jansen: “Tuomas challenged me, using everything I have to offer. High, low, soft, whatever, but definitely lower stuff and very soft and intimate things. Something that more by coincidence was something that I kind of missed doing. Something I haven’t explored much and Tuomas wrote parts where I have to use this completely, where I have to go into it entirely. I’m very happy with what came out there.”

The previously posted sixth video clip can also be found over at this location.

Oh, great! I hope they release like 20 more of these completely useless videos! At least show some clips of you guys recording the new album or don't even bother, seriously. This is just getting stupid now.

It's true they are really hyping this (Over-hyping?). Maybe five would have been enough. Still, I've found it interesting to see the step by step of their creative process. Plus anything Floor related has my interest. After seeing her perform flawlessly live with ReVamp earlier this year and the way she totally owned "Ghost Love Score" in the Wacken DVD, I'm completely sold on her impressive skills as a singer and a Frontwoman. I'll be anticipating this album regardless.

I've watched the full Wacken Performance multiple times. She does a far better job than Anette ever thought of doing of Tarja's songs and, sadly, her own songs live.

She had a good voice for the "folksy" style the band was going for at the time but was far from prepared for the live environment.

Floor is hard to displace as the perfect replacement.

^Agreed, though I'd even dare to add that she's overall better than Tarja as a consummate frontwoman. Tarja was an operatic singer who got involved in metal almost by accident (nothing wrong with that). Floor is an actual rocker who has the chops of both Tarja AND Annette.

I definitely like her better than Tarja. Floor is much more expressive with her voice than either Tarja or Annette. Plus, something about a woman windmilling her hair really does it for me.
If you haven't seen her live, by all means do it.
