Dimmu Borgir's Simen To Guest On Dagoba CD

DIMMU BORGIR bassist/ARCTURUS frontman Simen Hestnaes (a.k.a. ICS Vortex, ex-BORKNAGAR, LAMENTED SOULS) has recorded a guest appearance on two songs on the sophomore album from French metallers DAGOBA, tentatively due in February 2006 via Season of Mist. "Shawter's vocals mixed with Vortex's voice sound amazing!" the band write on their web site.

DAGOBA's follow-up to their self-titled debut album was recorded at Antfarm studios in Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, MNEMIC). The group made name for themselves in France, where their EMI-distributed debut was a chart success. The buzz quickly spread, and step by step, the rest of Europe started responding (DAGOBA opened for MACHINE HEAD in Brussels, FEAR FACTORY in Amsterdam, and did a North European tour with SAMAEL; more recently they opened for KORN in France).

ex-NIN Drummer Dillon Clarifies Somewhat

It turns out Nine Inch Nails drummer Jerome Dillon, who was replaced three weeks ago by Alex Carapetis after leaving the band following its October 1 performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, isn't sick at all. On his Web site on Friday, Dillon, who was said to have been undergoing treatment for an unspecified heart condition and was previously supposedly diagnosed as suffering from exhaustion and fatigue, revealed he's perfectly healthy. "Contrary to many published reports in the music press, I want to make it clear that my departure from the band has absolutely nothing to do with my health," he wrote, adding that he's no longer a member of Nine Inch Nails. "I've learned much about myself — and those around me (particularly in the last month) — and it's brought about many positive changes. Although I appreciate the concern, I am not sick or recuperating. I feel great (physically and otherwise) and am playing the best drums of my life right now."

Ozzy's 'Crazy Train' Certified Gold Digital Single

Twenty three years after erupting around the world, OZZY OSBOURNE's signature song "Crazy Train" has entered the digital age with a bang by being certified as a gold digital single. The legendary track — featuring Ozzy's inimitable vocals and Randy Rhoads' blistering guitar leads — has now been certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

As previously reported, Osbourne has lined up the following TV appearances to promote his upcoming "Under Cover" album:

Nov. 02 - "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (ABC)
Nov. 04 - "Showbiz Tonight" (CNN)
Nov. 11 - "Last Call with Carson Daly" (NBC)

Ozzy will also be a guest on an upcoming episode of "Too Late with Adam Corolla". More information will be made available soon.

Ozzy's new collection, "Under Cover", is scheduled for release today (November 1) as a DualDisc via Epic. The set includes newly completed covers of JOHN LENNON's "Woman", JOE WALSH's "Rocky Mountain Way" and the MOODY BLUES' "Go Now" along with 10 other cuts that were released earlier this year on the "Under Covers" disc of the Ozzy boxed set "Prince of Darkness".

On the DVD side, fans are treated to the featurette "Dinner With Ozzy and Friends," which finds him regaling his son Jack and MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister with tales of rock 'n' roll excess, according to Billboard.com. A video for Ozzy's cover of THE BEATLES' "In My Life" is also included.

Drummer Officially Quits Nine Inch Nails

Jerome Dillon has now officially left Nine Inch Nails. He's been unable to play live with the band for some time due to health problems, but insists this isn't the reason for his decision.

Dillon was hospitalized more than once during the current Nine Inch Nails tour and underwent tests for an undisclosed heart condition. He was hospitalised previously after complaining onstage of chest pains. At the time he was diagnosed as suffering from exhaustion and fatigue.

Alex Carapetis stepped in for Dillon when he left the tour about 3 weeks ago. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Candlelight To Release Candlemass Catalogue

Candlelight Records today confirms the US license for six back catalog titles from Swedish doom legends Candlemass. Set for release in February, the titles include four currently unavailable albums, a live record and the band's cd/dvd collection.

"Epicus Doomicus Metallicus" stands as one of doom metal's true milestone recordings. Originally released in 1986, the record has been completely remastered and will include a live bonus disc circa 1988 clocking in at over 51 minutes. In stores February 7, Stonerrock says "it defined a genre and still remains a well-loved and esential metal album more than sixteen frigging years after it came out."

"Ancient Dreams," also remastered and featuring live bonus material, saw original release in 1988 and was the second album to feature vocalist Messiah Marcolin. Album opener "Mirror Mirror" with "Darkness in Paradise" and "The Bells of Acheron," now all fan favorites, further extended the band's genius epic signature. In stores February 7, All Music Guide calls the album "compelling."

"Doomed for Live" features seventeen songs recorded during the band's 2001 reunion tour (that further led to their current reunion). The hugely successful European run celebrated the band's legendary status. The record also hits stores February 7.

"Nightfall," the band's brilliant second album, introduced Marcolin to the world and today continues to be one of the band's most popular records. Originally released 1987, it has been remastered and features a bonus disc including rare demo plus studio and additional live footage previously unavailable. In stores February 21, an interview with the band as well video for "Bewitched" has also been added.

The conceptual album "Tales of Creation" found original release in 1989. Including "The Edge of Heaven" that Doom-metal.com calls "one of Candlemass' best songs ever," the reissue features more rarere demo material as well video for "Dark Reflections." Also in stores February 21, the album with the cd/dvd Essential Doom (featuring nearly 20 Candlemass classics!) nearly complete Candlemass' respected and prolific recording career.

Formed in 1985, All Music Guide says, "Candlemass helped reintroduce the lumbering power chords of Black Sabbath to an entire generation of post-New Wave of British Heavy Metal and post-thrash metalheads, almost single-handedly writing the handbook for the modern doom metal movement in the process." The band's latest album, simply titled "Candlemass," was released earlier this year via Nuclear Blast.
