Korn's New York Show To Be Filmed For MTV2

MTV.com is reporting that KORN's one-off gig at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on November 29 will be taped for a half-hour special on MTV2 airing December 3 at 9:30 p.m. and December 6 at 10:30 a.m. KORN will also be hosting MTV2's "T-Minus Rock Countdown" December 6 at 11 a.m., and the Hammerstein show will be available online via MTV Overdrive in early December.

KORN frontman Jonathan Davis told MTV.com that the band will embark on a full-scale, two-month U.S. headlining run toward the end of February; an itinerary is still being confirmed, he said. "The cities we don't hit, we'll hit when we come back this summer" as part of a second U.S. trek, the frontman promised. "It'll be a world tour — we'll start in the States, go overseas to Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia. We're hitting the whole world."

Virgin will release two versions of the group's new album, "See You on the Other Side", including a deluxe edition featuring a bonus disc of five tracks: "It's Me Again", "Eaten Up Inside", "Last Legal Drug (Le Petit Mort)" and two "Twisted Transistor" remixes. The disc will also include live footage shot during a KORN show in Russia.

Davis said he and the rest of KORN are especially proud of "See You"'s art, which features a weeping child clutching a headless teddy bear.

"It was done by a friend of mine named David Stoupakis. He's a local artist here in New York and I first saw his artwork at the CBGB gallery, when we did that free show there," Davis said. "I gave him this lyric from one of the songs ['Seen It All'] ... 'I'm just a child with a tear in his eyes/ And I'm holding this gift that is broken.' And I go, 'Paint that.' And he came up with [the cover], and it really blew everybody away."

"See you on the Other Side" is due out on December 6. Prior to the album's release, KORN will perform "Freak" and their new single, "Twisted Transistor", on "Saturday Night Live" on November 19.

Nasum's "Grind Finale" Finally On Track

Nasum guitarist Anders Jakobson has posted the following message at the band's official website:

"Finally, I'm getting some good words from Relapse. Let me quote: "Good news about 'Grind Finale': The print samples came in today and they are actually correct, so everything is on schedule (finally)… "

I hope to have my personal copy soon and will share some photos of this mysterious package (that noone seem to get...). Unfortunately, it's not for sale until the end of January... But it's worth the wait.

Some more "Grind Finale" news: I've been asked to put together a timeline of the development of "Grind Finale" for an upcoming issue of Resound (Relapse's magazine/catalogue) and I figured it would be a pretty basic timeline like: 2000 - get's the idea, 2001 - starts to collect master tapes, 2002 - postpones the collection one year... and so on, but as I went through my personal archives I happened to put together a VERY DETAILED timeline that was a shock to see, even for me, in it's final form. Relapse will add some details from their front, and once the Resound mag is printed I will publish it on nasum.com. A nice addition to the discography page I guess."

Circus Maximus Part Ways With Keyboardist

Norwegian progressive metal band CIRCUS MAXIMUS have parted ways with keyboardist Espen Storø. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"After five years, Espen has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. After much consideration we also think that this is the right decicion by him and for the sake of the band. We wish him the best of luck with everything in the future. CIRCUS MAXIMUS is of course still alive and well and as of this moment the band is writing new ass-kicking stuff for all you metal heads out there. At the moment we’re trying out a new very skilled guy — but we need to see how he will function with us on the songwriting etc. We will keep you posted when we have found a definite replacement for Espen."

Espen issued the following statement regarding his decision to leave the group:

"After thinking about this for a long long time I have decided to leave the band. It was a tough decision, but I feel this is the right thing to do right now. I've had a great time paying in CIRCUS MAXIMUS, up until a while ago.

"I just want to say that I still look at the other guys as my buddies, and no one is mad at eachother. I wish CIRCUS MAXIMUS a great future, and I know that they will still make great music. Big thanks to everyone for your support!”

CIRCUS MAXIMUS released their very critically acclaimed debut album, "The First Chapter", on Frontiers Records earier this year.

GOATWHORE, the New Orleans-based band featuring vocalist L. Ben Falgoust II (SOILENT GREEN) and guitarist Sammy Duet (ACID BATH, CROWBAR), have issued the following update:

"We know it has been quite some time since updates were made so we wanted to fill everyone in on what’s going on with GOATWHORE. We have currently relocated to Phoenix, AZ for a temporary time to finish work on our next album to be released through Metal Blade Records in mid-2006. Things are pretty crazy in our hometown of New Orleans, LA still (since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina), so we decided to pack up and head out west to finish writing on the new material. We are currently staying with some close friends out here in Phoenix and we will have a few shows in the beginning of December to help our current situation out. Please come out and show some support and hope to see you while we are out this way. More information will follow once we have a scheduled studio date, which would be around the end part of this year."

Upcoming GOATWHORE shows:

Dec. 02 - Phoenix, AZ @ Metal Devastation 2
Dec. 03 - Scottsdale, AZ @ CHASERS
Dec. 04 - Hollywood, CA @ Whisky A Go Go
