Brick Bath Cancel Remaining Tour Dates

BRICK BATH have posted the following message on their official website:

"Hey everybody we figured it was time to let you know what's going on...

Due to being stiffed by more than a few promoters and lack of support from our record label (not to mention the hurricanes and soaring gas prices), the band had no other options then to cancel the rest of our tour dates for the remainder of 2005.

We have been out on the road for three and a half months straight and covered a lot of territory in the US. Many of the shows were great and all our new friends and fans that came out to the shows all over the US were even greater. Thanks so much for your love and continued support. More...

Ordo Tyrannis Sign To Flood the Earth Records

Flood the Earth Records has announced the signing of ORDO TYRANNIS and the label will be releasing their debut album "Vasa Inquitatis." The band consists of Saint ov Gravediggers (Vocals, Lyrics, Incantations) and Akhtya Nachttoter (Instruments, Mutations), of BLACK FUNERAL, VALEFOR and a host of other projects. The music cannot be pigeonholed into one genre - ORDO TYRANNIS exists between the abyss of dark ambience, doom and black metal.

You can download two tracks from this album on Flood the Earth's site:

In related news, Flood the Earth Records will now be distributed in Europe exclusively by MASTERPIECE DISTRIBUTION. "The choice to work on an exclusive basis with MASTERPIECE was an easy one to make. They have proved to be honorable, trustworthy and professional in our past dealings, and have done an excellent job distributing our releases throughout Europe. We also admire that they focus on distributing excellent releases on all sides of the dark music spectrum rather than confining themselves to a specific genre (which you think would get rather boring)." Exclusive European distribution by MASTERPIECE will begin with the KARSTEN HAMRE album, followed by ORDO TYRANNIS and many other releases now in the works.

Intense Degree's 'War In My Head' For Download

Mansfield's Hardcore band of the late 80's shared countless stages with the leading lights of the newly spawned UK grindcore scene, Heresy, Napalm Death, Doom, Bolt Thrower etc all over the UK in the 86-87 period, and attracted the attention of famed Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who booked the band into the BBC studios for a well received session, first broadcast in March 1988. The band were less metallic sounding than their contemporaries, concentrating instead on super swift HC based material, and in drummer Frank they boasted one of the fastest in the scene. Intense Degree were also notable for having a female bass player, which was unusual for the time, Bolt Thrower aside.

Earache became good friends with the band and arranged for them to record their debut LP in Birdsong Studios, Worcester in October 88. Studio owner Steve Bird deserves an honourable mention in the history of Grindcore for recording the B-side of Napalm Death's 'Scum' and all of the 'From Enslavement' album- most engineers were perplexed by the unlistenable noise that grindcore bands unleashed in the studio, but Steve was actually encouraging and even made the bands vaguely listenable, all with a zero budget. The resulting album 'War In My head' became the 9th Earache release (mosh 9) and was originally available on vinyl LP only but is now online at metaltracks to download in mp3 format.

ex-The Black Dahlia Murder Drummer Comments

Drummer Zach Gibson, formerly of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, who was removed from the band on the last date of their recent US tour, has posted the following message on his MySpace page:

"Yes, the rumors are true, I AM NO LONGER THE DRUMMER FOR THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER........I was asked to leave the band after our last show on the BTBAM/CEPHALIC CARNAGE/INTO THE MOAT tour 10/28/05 in Detroit,Michigan, our home...I was quitting anyways and they knew it,they just wanted to save face and beat me to the punch.I'm gonna sound like a total asshole, but anyone that knows me knows that this is the truth and i'm very very far from being a dick head.....BDM is nothing without me,they were nothing until I joined.Had I not joined last year when I did, they never would've continued, and even if they did, half the shit they did with me in the band would've never happened, and Miasma wouldn't have turned out the way it did, they know all of this is true as well, because i've been told by them many a times.I want everyone to know that reads this that Brian from BDM is a total dickhead and doesn't care about anything accept making money, and on top of that, he is not half as good of a musician as you may think,he is one of the most un-talented musicians i've ever played with. He doesn't care about friendships, having fun(Basically really being in a band).....

Nocturnal Rites Update

Swedish melodic metal outfit NOCTURNAL RITES has successfully finished its tour throughout Europe with German speed metal act Gamma Ray. Bassist Nils Eriksson’s personal feedback:

“Just back from touring all over Europe with Gamma Ray. Weird - two days ago I was drinking beer without my shirt on in the sun in Kaufbeuren and when I get back home we have -10 Celcius. We had a blast in Europe and did some really, really fucking great shows. The new songs went down great and now we can\'t wait to start our headlining trek in Sweden. Now I have to sober up. I guess I can\'t drive my car until another couple of weeks... Hats off to all fans for showing up and raising hell with us. We love you all...“
