Into Eternity Return Home After Year of Touring
Canada's INTO ETERNITY have wrapped up a solid year of touring North America. Covering metals musical spectrum, the band have had the honor of sharing the stage with several of the genre's top heavyweight bands. Talking about the band's year, mainman Tim Roth said, "Our touring cycle for 'Buried In Oblivion' has finally come to a close. We've had a great year and would like to thank all the fans, our label, our agent, and all the promoters for the best year of our metal career. It has been a band goal to finally tour the U.S.A. properly, this year we have had the chance to make that happen not just once, but five times. Thank you to all the amazing bands that we toured with KATAKLYSM, GRAVEWORM, MYSTIC CIRCLE, AMORPHIS, BEYOND THE EMBRACE, SINGLE BULLET THEORY, NAGLFAR, HATE ETERNAL, KRISIUN, INCANTATION, HAMMERFALL, EDGUY, STRATOVARIUS, NEVERMORE, and OPETH.
"INTO ETERNITY, now home in Canada, will go into winter hibernation. The plan is to write and record our fourth album, and then tour again in spring 2006. Our lineup has solidified after 140 shows together, so we're in full gear for the new album. With the new members the sound will be a bit different, but we will always remain INTO ETERNITY. I know we can count on all of our amazing fans to support us. Keep it metal!"
Goatwhore Confirm End of Year Gigs
GOATWHORE have issued the following update:
“We know it has been quite some time since updates were made so we wanted to fill everyone in on what’s going on with Goatwhore.
We have currently relocated to Phoenix, AZ for a temporary time to finish work on our next album to be released through Metal Blade Records in mid-2006.
Things are pretty crazy in our hometown of New Orleans, LA still (since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina), so we decided to pack-up and head out West to finish writing on the new material.
We are currently staying with some close friends out here in Phoenix and we will have a few shows in the beginning of December to help our current situation out. Please come out and show some support and hope to see you while we are out this way.
More information will follow once we have a scheduled studio date, which would be around the end part of this year.”

The recording sessions for the second Cloudscape album will start the 26th of December in the Roasting House studio. We do not have an exact release date yet but, the European label (Metal Heaven) will release it during June 2006 for sure. In Japan/Asia the album will be released during spring 2006. An album title is also decided but, Cloudscape will wait a month or 2 to reveal the title since it's nearly 8 months left to the European release. The sales of their debut has been very good and they of course hope that their second album will sell even more;). Once again the producers will be Anders "Theo" Theander and Pontus Lindmark. Mattias Norén will handle all artwork. More...

Mnemic Guitarist Issue Report On US Tour
MNEMIC guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie has posted the following tour report on the group's official web site:
"So we're back! I dont know how to put this, but the MESHUGGAH tour is unfortunately over.
The last week or so has been nothing but fragments of memories merging into one big pile of imagery. If we rewind a bit, I remember St. Louis; we played a venue called Pops. A humongous place which could hold at least 2000 peeps, and the place was packed. It was MESHUGGAH, MNEMIC, and a dozen of local support acts. Both bands had the best time on the whole tour on that stage, at Pops. The crowd was into every band, and the moshpit looked like something I haven't seen in a long long time. Once again fists and elbows smashing into everybody and people stagediving and getting in trouble with the security, it was beautiful.More...
Metal Podcast Announced At Macandrollpodcast.com
A recent press release talks about podcasting and a new metal podcast:
Podsafe metal bands have gotten a lot of support lately from podcasters around the world but now they have a weekly show that showcases the best in metal bands from the podsafe music network and garage band.
The term podsafe was introduced by former MTV VJ and self proclaimed Pod Father Adam Curry as a form of music that can be played on podcasts with out repercussion from the RIAA. When bands sign up at sights such as music.podshow.com or garageband.com they sign a agreement that says they agree to allow podcasters the right to play the artists music, which not only gives the artist a outlet to showcase the music but also allows podcasters a way of playing some well produced music on the podcasts.
Podcaster Brent Bradley of macandrollpodcast.com which normally does a daily show which involves looking over the days stranger news, talking about dead people and playing podsafe music from Metal to Rap decided that it was time to go full blast with a show that plays only podsafe metal music. Metal music has had a special place with me since my teenager days listening to bands such as Iron Maiden, Pantara and Metallica. You hear all kinds of podsafe music on other podcasts, but metal seems to be left in the back corner.
Adam Curry has a podsafe Christmas song in the works which includes varies podsafe artists, but to my knowledge it does not include any metal bands. I am just a outlet for these bands to get out podsafe metal, you would not believe the talent that these bands have, they can give the bands on the radio a real run for the money, says Mr Bradley. With satellite radio such as Sirius and XM taking off and Ipods going through the roof, podcasts are just another inovative way of finding some of the best new music out there. Podcasting, some say, will be the demise of radio as we know it. The podsafe metal mania show can be heard Saturday nights and Brent's regular podcast can be heard on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Mac And Roll Podcast is one of the few straight podcasts that can be found on the Qpodder Podcasting Network and can be found at macandrollpodcast.com.
In case you're not up to date on the latest terminology, you can learn more about podcasting at Wikipedia.

In the words of the band, "We been influenced by Judge, Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, Killing Time, Burn, Strife and the Cro Mags. All of us listen to metal and have been known to steal some stuff from Slayer, At The Gates, Iron Maiden and Obituary." They will enter the studio in early-2006 to begin recording their Indecision debut.
Haste The Day Frontman Quits
Haste The Day vocalist Jimmy Ryan has left the group on good terms. He has released the following statement:
"So, I've decided to leave the band. Before anyone jumps to any conclusions, it was my own decision. I feel like this chapter in my life is coming to a close and it is time for me to move on. The guys in my band are my best friends and my brothers and my decision to leave has been a difficult one. I will miss them quite a bit as they continue on and as the band continues to grow as I am confident it will. The past 4 years have been some of the best years of my life. I want to thank everyone that I've met while traveling all over the nation for sharing your lives, your homes, your cities, your emotions and your love with me and the band.
I have a list of people about 10 miles long that I want to thank but I could go on for days about how you all have affected my life so positively. So let me thank you all here, you know who you are.
I'm stoked to move on but sad to say goodbye after these last few weeks on tour as I finish out the year with the guys. My last show will be December 30th @ The Knights of Columbus in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you can come out, please do so we can have one last dance."
Hammerfall Guitarist Checks In From France
HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"We're currently in Lyon, France, after having spent the better part of a week in Spain. This tour has been one of the very best ever for us! I really think we have a tremendous package that attracts people and leaves them satisfied. The audience numbers and reactions is a testament to this, literally everywhere we go. It feels grrrrrreat!
"As some of you long-time web-followers might have noticed, there is a lack of the regular tour diary I usually do. This is because I have been asked by the biggest magazine in Sweden, Sweden Rock magazine, to do a comprehensive diary of the entire tour. In addition to this, Anders is writing something for Metal Hammer in Germany, so I thought it would be a bit of overkill to have one on the web as well. I think you understand.
"Lastly, the Swedish award Rockbjörnen is coming up in January, and as usual it’s up to you, the people to decide. Please be sure cast your votes quickly, because the finalists move on to the next round in a matter of days. We thank you for your support! Cheers!"

Unearth Frontman Talks About New Album
UNEARTH vocalist Trevor Phipps has checked in with the following update:
"It has been an amazing couple of years for us and we are just blown away by the overwhelming response we have received around the world. We are about to go into writing hibernation and pool our collective experiences together to make another bad-ass record. So far what we have written is faster, heavier and darker than anything we have ever done. We will unleash the best record of our lives next summer. With us a ton of touring is imminent when we put out a record, so we will be back to all the places we traveled to the past two years and even add a few more countries and continents to the list in 2006 and 2007. Beatallica Bassist Sits Out Fall Tour
Bassist Kliff McBurtney of the Milwaukee-based BEATALLICA, a satirical mashup act whose hilarious schtick marries the songwriting prowess of the BEATLES to the deep-throated rock growl of METALLICA, has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"At the beginning of November my wife, daughter and myself made a big jump and moved to the Seattle, WA area. This is something that we have been talking about doing even before I was in BEATALLICA. Due to a certain turn of events and family obligations we decided that the time was now or never. We really enjoy it out here and look forward to getting to know the people and area more. However, we do miss all of our family and friends back in the Midwest and there's no doubt about that.
"Which brings me to the important issue. Between just getting off the road/plane, trying to get my family's move completed and trying to get everything settled here in the Northwest I will not be able to go out on the upcoming late fall tour here in the States. It saddens me that I can't be out there, not only for the band but for all of the fans and friends that I was so looking forward to meeting. But when it comes down to it, family comes first, always. The Gathering Enter Studio To Record 9th Album
World renowned Dutch act The Gathering entered the studio today (November 21st, 2005) to commence work on their 9th studio album.
For this recording the band has built a professional homemade studio inside an old church in the small town of Maurik, located in the south of Holland. With the help of producer Atti Bauw (producer of the band’s 1998’s "How to Measure a Planet?") the band plans to work there for a month before heading to Bauw’s studio to mix and master the music.
Comments singer Anneke van Giersbergen about the constructed studio and working with Bauw again: “We built our own studio there because we wanted to do something different and create a new atmosphere. As for working with Attie Bauw, he is a very inspirational man with great ideas and we were very anxious to work with him again.
“I like being in the studio especially because we are then together for a vast period of time as a group and we create something entirely new. It's always amazing to participate in this process and to finish with a brand new album. That sense of accomplishment is truly wonderful.”
She adds, “We would hope to see the album get released sometime in March (on Psychonaut Records in Europe, The End Records in North America). We plan to start touring in March and come over to tour in South America and the U.S.A. once again.”
In February van Giersbergen gave birth to her first child, a boy named Finn. The singer welcomes the changes being a mother brings to her and her songwriting.
“Being a mother has changed a lot for me and obviously everything I do or go through will somehow end up in a lyric or a song, but I haven’t written any mother-baby songs --- yet!” she laughs. “My views on life are the same as before I had my baby boy, they are now just so much stronger. So if anything, my contribution to the band’s music and the music we create together will be more powerful because of these new experiences.”
In other recent news The Gathering just released their double-DVD, "A Sound Relief", in the U.S./Canada via The End Records. The two-disc set features a live concert the band recorded on May 23, 2005 at the famous Paradiso in Amsterdam, plus bonus extras like the band's own tour impressions caught on video, video interviews and a bonus disc showcasing a collection of beautiful 3-D animation clips.
Old Falconer Vocalist Re-joins Band
Falconer have posted this message on their website:
"Well, once again the line up of Falconer is changing. Now again, you might say. It does sound a bit unstable to do this every once in a while I know.
"After changing the new music into a more folkish style (and loving the sound of it) Karsten and I thought, why not go "the whole way" and get Mathias back in the band, it would really fit the music. That is the style people got to know us by, and that is the style that is best for Falconer in all ways.
"It´s back to the original style, leaving experiments and changes to act under a different moniker (may be).
"So hereby we present you the return of Mathias Blad.
"We would like to thank Kristoffer for the years in the band, it´s been a great time we always will cherish and we assure you all that this has nothing to do with personal matters.
"We wish Kriss all the best for the future.
"This kind of thing is about the worst things you can do to a bandmate if you are all friends but in the end, this is not a sand box it´s a band.
"A slightly sad but optimistic Stefan, Karsten, Jimmy and Magnus"

Maiden To Auction Items For Clive Burr MS Fund
Iron Maiden have arranged with Ebay to auction some specially signed items to raise money towards the Clive Burr MS Fund. This follows their special one night performance in September at the Hammersmith Apollo which raised over £120,000.
The Fund was set up in 2002 when the band discovered that their ex-band mate, drummer Clive Burr suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. The band then performed three sell out nights at the Brixton Academy with all proceeds being used to help Clive and other MS sufferers with their treatment and care and improve the quality of their life. The fund has helped with specialist equipment, transport and essential living expenses.
Many fans have also performed their own fund raising activities with special gigs of their own and numerous other contributions via the website and fan club.
The items included in the auction are a Fender Stratocaster donated and used by guitarist Dave Murray, tour programmes and rare special event shirts from the night at Hammersmith all signed by the band and Clive Burr himself.
The auction starts on 8.00pm (GMT) November 24th and runs for ten days so get those bids in. The winning bidders on each auction will be contacted to arrange delivery once the auction has ended. Payment can be made via Paypal or by cheque or International Money Orders made payable in Pound Sterling to the 'Clive Burr MS Trust' although no items will be dispatched until the cheques have been cleared. Details will be made clear on each auction page.
Menawhile on Tuesday, November 29, there will be a special event being held at the London Hard Rock Cafe. Clive Burrs drum kit will be being presented to the Cafe to be added to their collection of memorabilia. Clive will be there to be presented with a cheque donated to the Clive Burr MS Fund and many other Rock N Roll luminaries both in terms of fellow players and the media. The event is to celebrate the release of a Hard Rock DVD charting the history of much of the memorabilia that they are famous for in each of their cafe's around the world. The event was organised by Sam Hill who some will know as the organiser of the special Maiden Days at The Ruskin Arms to help raise further money for Clive's Trust. The newly refurbished vault at the London Hard Rock Cafe has numerous treasures including guitars from Hendrix and John Lennon handwritten lyrics.
