Nightwish Vocalist Kicked Out Of The Band

Finland's NIGHTWISH have posted the following message on the band's official website:

"Dear Tarja,

It's time to choose whether the story of NIGHTWISH ends here or whether it will still continue an undetermined period of time. We've been working with this creation for 9 years and we are not ready to give up yet. Nightwish is a way of life, something to live for, and we're certain we can't let it go.

Equally certain is the fact that we cannot go on with you and Marcelo any longer. During the last year something sad happened, which I've been going over in my head every single day, morning and night. Your attitude and behavior don't go with NIGHTWISH anymore. There are characteristics I would never have believed to see in my old dear friend. People who don't talk with each other for a year do not belong in the same band. More...

Mythic Silence Records Formed

Mythic Silence Records has officially been launched. The label plan on using the music technology of today to bring European and American underground heavy metal to the American mainstream. A letter from label president, J. Hart, is as follows:

"We have a strong commitment to real music, and place much emphasis on the talent and musical integrity of our artists. We are a company primarily focused on the internet economy, as it is the fastest and most efficient way to reach our target market, and as one leader in the business world so put it, "the internet economy IS the economy." I believe we as a team can use this revolution as a stepping stone for a new generation of music, as well as music fans."

MSR specializes in progressive and power metal, but also plan to branch into thrash and melodic death metal. "We are currently in negotitions with several top bandsl whom I can't name for ethical reasons, but I can assure you, there will be no dissapointment from the Mythic Silence camp."

Remembering Never Recording New Album

Remembering Never has just begun work on their next album to be titled "God Save Us" and will be released on Ferret Music in Feb 06. The Ft. Lauderdale based band made up of Mean Pete (vocals), Grease (guitar), Aldo (bass), Norm (guitar) and Danny (drums) are known for their sound incorporating chaotic hardcore, shards of melody and strong political and ethical lyrics. The band has sold over 35,000 copies of their previous album "Women & Children Die First," which they toured non-stop over the last two years to support with such groups as Terror, The Acacia Strain, Throwdown, Most Precious Blood, Eighteen Visions and many more.

The group are locked in the studio with famed producer Zeuss in his Massachusetts based Planet Z studios for the next month. Known for his ability to create some of the loudest and fullest albums including work with Madball, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed and Throwdown, it was actually his work on Blood Has Been Shed's recent album that won over Remembering Never to working with him. The vocalist of Blood Has Been Shed is Howard Jones who also sings in a little band called Killswitch Engage and also manages Remembering Never. When asked about the new album, Mean Pete responded "Well everyone progresses, so there are definitely natural changes in the music over time, but it's Remembering Never. In the lyric department it's the most personal album I've ever written." That means furious things are in store as Remembering Never is at the fore of bringing the message back into hardcore. The album booklet for "Women And Children Die First" ends with the statement from Mean Pete: "Being in a hardcore band, it is my privilege and my responsibility to share ideas."

FASSW Back From Canadian Tour, Work On New Album

From a Second Story Window have just returned from their Canadian tour and have issued an update:

"Back from tour in lovely Canada. We had no problems at the border, except having to pay some extra cash thanks to one of us having a shady past. Whatever. We also got fucked completely by the kid in Oshawa who was supposed to do that show, but decided to cancel on us. Apparently there might have been a show that day in Oshawa? If there was, please know we had no idea that it was still going on and we haven't been paid for the show at all. The kid won't pick up his phone. Typical. Also, the manager for MAE wouldn't let us play the Circa Survive show in Toronto, so we deeply apologize to anyone who came to that show and expected to see us rock out in true emo fashion! We were taken off the bill the night before the show. I think it's really shitty of Mae's tour manager to do that to us, but we hold no hard feelings against the band. Other than this, the tour was fucking amazing and we can not wait to hit up Canada again in the future! A huuuuge special thanks to MARIE in Ottawa for helping us with all our paperwork and being a wonderful host and partying with us two nights in a row! You rule and we had tons of fun hanging with you and Martin and everyone else. People in Canada seem to just be so laid back and different than what we are like here in the United States. We were really impressed by everyone's kind attitude. Also, a special thank you to Johnny O.C. and the boys in Ion Dissonance. You guys get more sick every time we play with you and I truly feel like you are real brothers to us. We will always be friends in this world and the next. Thank you. And um....Beneath the Massacre tore everyone up in Ottawa. Those guys just recovered from a terrible van accident and if you get a chance, check them out and give them your support. They were nice guys. So now what, well... back to the grind for us. We are continuing to work on the new album and have about two more songs to go with principle guitar work before we really dig in and put all the finishing touches on the album. We also are actually playing a show NEAR HOME IN AKRON OHIO ON NOVEMBER 4TH!!!! I hope all the Cleveland kids and AKRON crews come rock out with us that night! I can't wait. In the meantime, email us and let us know how things are in your world... we miss you all. Much love and respect, fassw."

From a Second Story Window has a few tour dates coming up still:

11/04 Akron, OH The Orange Street w/ Skies Bleed Black and Bend the Sky
11/19 Poughkeepsie, NY The Chance w/ Converge, THE RED CHORD, Shai Hulud and many more!
11/20 Queens, NY Redzone Martyr Festival w/ Ion Dissonance and many more

Nasum Members Form New Project

Nasum drummer Anders Jakobson has revealed that he and other former Nasum members Urban Skytt and Jon Lindqvist are starting a new project, which will ultimately include Jesper Liveröd, another Nasum alumnus. Here's what Jakobson had to say about the development:

"It's all ex-Nasum members in this project, and yes, there will be a great amount of grinding done, but no - this is not Nasum part 2, this is just a couple of friends who happen to like playing together catching up and making some music at the same time.I'll tell you more when there is something more to tell, this weekend we'll just write some songs I guess and see what happens. A recording is planned sometime, but nothing more than that."
