"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Mythic Silence Records Formed

Mythic Silence Records has officially been launched. The label plan on using the music technology of today to bring European and American underground heavy metal to the American mainstream. A letter from label president, J. Hart, is as follows:

"We have a strong commitment to real music, and place much emphasis on the talent and musical integrity of our artists. We are a company primarily focused on the internet economy, as it is the fastest and most efficient way to reach our target market, and as one leader in the business world so put it, "the internet economy IS the economy." I believe we as a team can use this revolution as a stepping stone for a new generation of music, as well as music fans."

MSR specializes in progressive and power metal, but also plan to branch into thrash and melodic death metal. "We are currently in negotitions with several top bandsl whom I can't name for ethical reasons, but I can assure you, there will be no dissapointment from the Mythic Silence camp."

Many have tried...all have failed. Well, good luck to MSR, a mainstream of good heavy metal does sound like a plan...

To market a type of music to the mainstream, you will have to produce sh**. As 90% of people have no f***ing clue what good music is, you will have to create simple, slow sh**.

Metal is no place for the mainstream.

The way I see it, it'll be more good stuff on the market to dilute the amount of crap we have to deal with right now. Maybe having access to the good stuff will unclog the ears of the vast majority of "metalheads".
