Nasum's 'Grind Finale' Compilation Delayed
NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"I'm unhappy to announce that 'Grind Finale' [the NASUM collection] will be slightly delayed due to printing issues. I don't have the exact details, but apparently the printer sent the wrong templates for the artwork to Relapse, resulting in a complete set of artwork in the wrong size, so the Relapse guys have all worked this over and corrected everything according to the right templates, resulting in a slight delay in the release.
There are a lot of time, love and energy invested in this release already and we are certainly not going to damage all that with a bad printing, so we all just have to face the fact and wait a little longer for the release.
"The new release dates are as follows:
USA: November 15
Europe: November 21
Japan: During November
"I still haven't got the exact date for the Japanese release but right this moment George Seki of Howling Bull is translating the whole 80-page booklet to Japanese (the only bonus they will get)...
"Again I'm sorry for the delay. This is not ours or Relapse's fault, we should all just blame a clumsy printer who also happens to lack a lot of servicemindness, being a lazy-ass bastard! Hehe! So just wait for it a little longer, OK?"
You can download 21 samples from "Grand Finale" at this location. More information about the CD can be found here and here.
Dave Mustaine Posts Update From Chile
Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the forum section of the band's official web site: "Well, the Chilean show was fantastic! And except for the 500 people who rioted outside the venue, the 24 that got arrested, the wall that was pulled down and the car that was destroyed, everything went smooth as a baby's bottom."
"We are now in the VIP lounge at the Santiago Airport, getting ready to fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I can not tell you how excited I am to play here one more time. We are going to be filming this show as some of you may know, and visiting a lot of the city's sights and sounds.
"Tonight we are going to by far the best steakhouse in the world. My personal favorite — Happenings! And I have asked Glen [Drover, guitar] if he wants to go for a walk with me tomorrow or the next day to play some songs in the park outside our hotel. So if you see two Gringos with guitars singing heavy songs on acoustic (hehehe) you will know it is us.
"To all the beautiful people of Chile, I am glad I got to see you all once again. You are fabulous and we love you all."

Vision Of Disorder MiniSet During Bloodsimple Show
BLOODSIMPLE's September 24 concert at Club Voltage in Levittown, New York included a short reunion set by VISION OF DISORDER (V.O.D.), the legendary New York hardcore band which featured in its ranks current BLOODSIMPLE singer Tim Williams and guitarist Mike Kennedy. Opening the show was KARNOV, whose lineup includes two other former VISION OF DISORDER members, drummer Brendon Cohen and bassist-turned-guitarist Mike Fleischmann.
In a Billboard.com review of the show, music journalist Greg Prato writes, "Sounding amazingly tight and heavy, despite not having played a show together in four years, V.O.D. cranked out a short-but-sweet three song set, including 'Choke', 'Element', and 'D.T.O.' Unfortunately, unless you were right up front (and good luck attempting that without taking a boot to the head), you couldn't get a good view of the band, thanks to the constant presence of three burly bouncers who stood on the front of the stage throughout. Despite mass chanting of 'V.O.D., V.O.D.,' the band was off the stage in what seemed like a flash."
Writing to BLOODSIMPLE's official MySpace.com page, Williams said about the concert, "For all those unlucky enough to miss this, you fucked up!!! This was the best BLOODSIMPLE show to date in Long Island!! Thanks to all the fans for making it amazing... V.O.D. was just as fun!! Thanks again to all the kids."
Pictures From KoRns Video with Rappers
Wire Image has uploaded a number of photos from the video shoot for KORN's new single, "Twisted Transistor", featuring rappers Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and David Banner. Check them out at this location.
In a brand-new MTV.com interview, KORN frontman Jonathan Davis spoke at length about the video shoot, which took place Wednesday (October 5) at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California.
"It's basically a video with hip-hop stars playing us," Davis said. "And they're doing a really good job. They've done their homework. Such a good job, in fact, that it takes a few seconds before realizing, 'Hey, that's Lil Jon singing, not Jonathan Davis.' 'And that's Snoop Dogg in the dreads and bodysuit, not Munky.' 'And that's Xzibit wearing Fieldy's signature headband and David Banner banging on David Silveria's drums.' "
"He's got the Dickies and the chain on, it's hilarious," Fieldy said of Xzibit. "Just watching Xzibit holding my bass straight up and down and jumping around, he's really into character. They're eating it up, man. It's gonna be the best video ever."
Davis said the concept comes from being frustrated that rock videos don't get as much airtime as they used to. Director Dave Meyers (best known for Missy Elliott's masterpieces) refused to give up too much about what happens in the clip, but he said the rappers took a complete plunge into the rock world, "so it's a really surreal kind of mind-twisting video."
"It's like an alternate world," David Banner added. "It's a day in the life of the actual group, so they took little quirks about everybody's personality and amplified it a whole lot. David the drummer is the pretty boy in the group, so he keeps a mirror around, he has to make sure that he's tight before he goes onstage."
Rotting Corpse Named Artist Of Month
Reunited '80s thrash band ROTTING CORPSE, whose original lineup included current SOLITUDE AETURNUS mainman John Perez and former DEATH touring guitarist/roadie Walter Trachsler, have been named Artist of the Month for October 2005 by Stream of Consciousness.
The Artist of the Month package features an interview with bassist Steve Murphy, a review of the recent ROTTING CORPSE show from September 24, 2005 at the Phoenix Music Complex in Arlington, Texas as well as photos taken the same night.
The interview has Murphy giving insight on what events preceded the initial ROTTING CORPSE practice in July 2004 that led to the reunion, if the reunion could work or happen and how Murphy looks at ROTTING CORPSE as a business and not just a band.
Later in the month, ROTTING CORPSE will be sharing four Texas dates with the recently reformed Texas based RIGOR MORTIS with one of those shows consisting of RIGOR MORTIS, ROTTING CORPSE and GAMMACIDE which features Rick Perry from the industrial metal act PUNCTURE.

Hell-Born Extend Deal With Conquer Records
Polish black metallers HELL-BORN, featuring former members of BEHEMOTH and DAMNATION, have posted the following update at their official web site:
"A lot of time passed, we were very busy during these months, so now we have couple of news from HELL-BORN horde… As you already know, or not, in February/March 2005 the band went into Hertz Studio to record their third full-length album, titled 'Cursed Infernal Steel'. HELL-BORN recorded 10 new tracks which create 45 minutes of pure old-school death metal hell!!! Await the heaviest, the most kickin' ass and uncompromising HELL-BORN album ever!!!
"After the studio session, the band started to look for a new contract, because their old contract with Conquer Records was fulfilled. After couple of months and hard negotiations, HELL-BORN decided to prolong the record deal with Conquer Records for next two albums. In the meantime, in September 2005 album 'Legacy of the Nephilim' was released in USA by Ibex Moon Records. The album is available under the catalog number IMR006. Due to that fact and to avoid [flooding the market with new product], [the release date] of the new HELL-BORN album, 'Cursed Infernal Steel', has been postponed to January 2006. However, two new tracks from the upcoming album will appear in our 'Download' section soon. It will be 'Impaled Archangels' and 'Black Flag of Satan', so check out our site regulary!!!"

On October 11, IRON MAIDEN fans the world over will have something new to get excited about as the newly re-launched Restless Records releases "Numbers from the Beast: An All Star Salute to Iron Maiden", a tribute to the legendary band. The album, which features MAIDEN's own Paul Di'Anno and marks Restless' return to its metal and punk roots, is produced by Grammy award winner and tribute album pioneer Bob Kulick (KISS, METALLICA, AEROSMITH), along with Brett Chassen, and features appearances from current or former members of IRON MAIDEN, KISS, AC/DC, MOTÖRHEAD, ANTHRAX, DIO, JUDAS PRIEST, TESTAMENT, TWISTED SISTER, EXTREME, WHITESNAKE, SLAUGHTER, HELMET, DOKKEN and many others.
"It's a fitting salute to an awesome band and may be the best tribute I've ever produced. I really like what we've done to these amazing songs, and more importantly, the band approves," says Kulick of the album.
"Numbers from the Beast" features 11 classic IRON MAIDEN tunes revamped in honor of the band's 25th anniversary. The final track listing is as follows:

"Numbers from the Beast" marks the first release on the newly revamped Restless Records. William Hein, current president of Rykodisc and former head of Enigma Records, co-founded Restless in 1985 as a punk and metal sub-label of Enigma. Restless became a stand-alone label after Capitol-EMI acquired Enigma, and was subsequently acquired by Rykodisc in 2003. Now, back with a new sound and logo, Restless returns to its roots with the MAIDEN salute, as well as an upcoming reissue from California punk outfit 45 GRAVE.
