Wire Image has uploaded a number of photos from the video shoot for KORN's new single, "Twisted Transistor", featuring rappers Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and David Banner. Check them out at this location.
In a brand-new MTV.com interview, KORN frontman Jonathan Davis spoke at length about the video shoot, which took place Wednesday (October 5) at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California.
"It's basically a video with hip-hop stars playing us," Davis said. "And they're doing a really good job. They've done their homework. Such a good job, in fact, that it takes a few seconds before realizing, 'Hey, that's Lil Jon singing, not Jonathan Davis.' 'And that's Snoop Dogg in the dreads and bodysuit, not Munky.' 'And that's Xzibit wearing Fieldy's signature headband and David Banner banging on David Silveria's drums.' "
"He's got the Dickies and the chain on, it's hilarious," Fieldy said of Xzibit. "Just watching Xzibit holding my bass straight up and down and jumping around, he's really into character. They're eating it up, man. It's gonna be the best video ever."
Davis said the concept comes from being frustrated that rock videos don't get as much airtime as they used to. Director Dave Meyers (best known for Missy Elliott's masterpieces) refused to give up too much about what happens in the clip, but he said the rappers took a complete plunge into the rock world, "so it's a really surreal kind of mind-twisting video."
"It's like an alternate world," David Banner added. "It's a day in the life of the actual group, so they took little quirks about everybody's personality and amplified it a whole lot. David the drummer is the pretty boy in the group, so he keeps a mirror around, he has to make sure that he's tight before he goes onstage."

Granted most of the bands above are past their prime, some more than others, but there is no Led Zepplin anymore, no the Black Sabbath, the Doors, The Beatles, Stones, etc to keep the world interested in rock enough to keep enough money in the market so that smaller bands get the money they need to start up and rise. The rock landscape is brutally bleak, and excepts for maybe Lamb of God, and they are not even half of what early metallica was, there isnt much left out there to carry the torch. Whatever. You all are gonna b**** no matter what i say, so f*** it. Maybe i could just have saved myself a lot of time ripping on you and simply stated something like "wait till it is actually realeased or leaked before you trash it (the korn album)". and for the record, i didnt like Twisted Transistor on first listen, nor even really the second, but once i heard a clear version of it i kinda dig the industrial feel to it and dont think it is anywhere near as pop as "Word Up". I personally can't stand ozzy, black sabbath or iron maiden but I understand what they have done for music and what they continue to do. Knowing that they are from Bakersfield….there are a lot of Mexicans who live there. To me they looked like Mexican “homies” when I first saw them in the Blind video…with the khaki pants, the bandana around Fieldy’s forehead. And as far as the hip-hop influence…when I first heard Korn’s song Blind and their debut album….where are these hip-hop influences that you speak of? What I heard were these down-tuned guitars that were distorted, some weird off-beat drumming(isn’t hip-hip a constant beat? Hmmm), and a growling voice that would scream and rant and sound psychotic and would slow down to a sort of angry evil whisper….it was awesome because you could hear and feel the passion of his emotions…something real and honest….something that was never heard before. They created an original sound and there is no denying it. Oh…and there was not one rap or hip-hop track on that album either. In fact…to this day…no one, not even the music industry, have been able to put a definitive label on their style of music.

There is no denying what they brought into the music world.....a new sound, a different sound, that stood on its own apart from the rest. Its Korn's sound and they should be acknowledged and respected for that. During this short period before Life is Peachy, the period in which the only glimpse of mediocrity escaped, (and such a minute glimpse at that!) they seemed to be unaffected by the hip-hop influence that is all too appearant on the next three atrocities.

KoRn uses them to get a lower tone, a tone with heavy distortion, no bite, no edge, just a flat, low, sh**ty, disgusting tone. Riffs by these 2 stooges can be made by dropping that big bad Ibanez on the floor. "Ok, now for this riff, what you gotta do is, pull the strap off the strap button, and very precisely with your right hand, grab the neck about where it meets the body, and fling the guitar across the room. For a better tone, if you're lucky and on tour with Slipknot, you can fling it at number 8." Their noise is horribly unintelligent simple sh** that is good for just about one thing: making money off the mindless. And it works great. No talent guitar bullsh**.
The drums are tuned with the slack of your average, everyday lawnchair. But eh, they're low! Cool right?! Right guys?! Huh guys?! Yeah...it has no strength, no balls whatsoever. Real drums can be heard in songs with Dave Lombardo, Vinnie Paul, and Lars Ulrich. They have more balls that KoRn's drums ever will, Lombardo especially.
KoRn is sh**, there's no two ways about it. With their sh** came more bands, helping to carry on the sh** tradition, and the universal movement for the f***ing stupid of the world....

Fieldy’s amateurism serves him well in Korn, where his heavily distorted slapping and popping has redefined the low end for contemporary metal. But it’s another story on the mike, where he can barely keep up with the elementary b****es-and-weed shtick that dominates the disc. The beats split the difference between standard SoCal pimp strut and up-tempo Southern bounce — nothing adventurous enough to bail out the struggling MC. The lone highlight, Korn singer Jonathan Davis’s paranoid cameo on the chorus of "Just for Now," barely makes sense in the context of Fieldy’s wanton braggadocio. Korn attract the type of high-school burnouts who pride themselves on their idiocy, but Fieldy’s Dreams isn’t competent enough to keep even those fans from buying the new Nas album instead.

Korn is entirely mainstream, they are played all over the radio, have a huge moronic fan base, obviously, the korn threads are the 2nd most popular on the site, so how the fukk can u say they arent mainstream. Before Run DMC and Public Enemy there was the Sugar Hill Gang(and a few others)…you did know that…didn’t you? These are the people who bring acts like NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys to "fame". But why did I quote "fame"?
Because that is not fame, IT IS MASS PROMOTION.
First, they create them. It has to be a group with "commercial potential". They hire great songwriters like that traitor-to-metal Max Martin to write 100% guaranteed hits for them that are payed to play CONSTANTLY, EVERYWHERE!! Then, they pay millions of dollars to promote, show, and publicize the "hot new act" as much as possible. Radio brodcasts that last forever, displays in stores, hell, even T.V. commercials when you need them (remember Master P?? How do you think Rap THAT BAD could sell?).
Does your music industry suffer from Mass Promotion?? Here are the signs . . .
1.Giant, never-ending displays in music stores about a groups new album, even in places where you would not expect them (bus benches for God's sake, a la Limp Bizkit and Busta Rhymes)
2.T.V. commercials and appearences most notably during the adolescent television hours in your area
3.Overexposure on radio, magazines, and everywhere else Marketing a band because of its fashions (a la Korn)..YES A-S-S-HOLE KORN!!!!!!!!!
4.Paying money for more promotions for the album for people to see it more to be in the Top Ten as long as possible (until another band like them comes along)
5.Giving a group critical favoritism so they can get an A in the critic's review and especially not caring about the music, but the looks instead

This is ok for Vai, who plays...what is it...neoclassical? I don't know. Anyway, they are gravely misused in the "metal" scene.
It is a quite common misconception that lower means heavier. People say to me, "Now way man! Korn's heavy they tune down to A!" NO d***sh**! Lower doesn't mean heavier! The heaviest songs that I have ever heard are in E, Eb, D, or even C#, depending on the mood. It's total bullsh** to put a low B on your guitar to get low. The only band I've ever heard that has used the B tuning (on 6 strings) with talent is Carcass, although their vocals kick way more a$$ than Korn's ever will....EVER....
Then, trying to sell this Slipknot bullsh** to me, the first time they hear that Slipknot doesn't use seven strings they come running, "Dude, Dude! Slipknot said and I quote 'Seven strings are stupid and for the trendy' And dude they use 6 man!" Now I'm going to tell you why seven strings in Slipknot's position is actually better. If they used seven, they'd still have the high E. Basically, by using 6 and tuning down as if they had seven anyway, they are just eliminating the high end. But that doesn't matter, you'll never hear a Slipknot solo, everyone knows how gay solos are...I mean come on...
