Cattle Decapitation will be appearing on 2 different benefit compilations from Koi Records next month... The first being the Friend In Need double 12" vinyl/DVD compilation aiming to increase awareness about cancer and treatments for cancer patients. Featured track is "Reduced To Paste" and the brand new video for the same song appears on the DVD!

The second being the New Orleans SPCA Benefit Compilation. This will feature a live in-studio track recorded at KXLU last year. Lamb of God Takes Break For Euro Shows

LAMB OF GOD have scheduled a brief break in their current writing sessions for their upcoming CD in order to head back to Europe for several select concert appearances. The stint will consist of 16 shows only, all in December of 2005. Support for these appearances will be provided by DEVILDRIVER and THE AGONY SCENE.

"This select run will represent the final concerts of the 'Ashes of the Wake' touring cycle," notes drummer Chris Adler. "It's been an insane year for all of us in the the LAMB OF GOD camp and there is not a better way to end it than to visit Europe again then spend the holidays with our families. We've been writing like crazy since returning home from headlining the Sounds of the Underground Tour and things are coming together very well. I'm not sure if we will be playing any of the new material in Europe, but I won't rule it out. Thanks to everyone who has come out to see us or in any way supported us — we are fortunate to have you on our side and we're looking forward to these upcoming concerts as well as delivering an amazing album in 2006."

More Gigantour DVD & Cd Combo Details

Image Entertainment, Inc., a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, today announced it has secured worldwide DVD, CD and broadcast rights to Gigantour, one of the most successful heavy metal concert tours of 2005.

Gigantour kicked-off on July 21 in Fresno, Calif., and hit 39 cities in the U.S. and Canada and ended on September 11 in Portland, Ore. The tour was a seven-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER, featuring ANTHRAX, FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, NEVERMORE, LIFE OF AGONY, SYMPHONY X, DRY KILL LOGIC and BOBAFLEX. Several of the bands performed only at specified cities on the schedule. The tour was the brainchild of MEGADETH frontman/guitarist Dave Mustaine, who handpicked the bands for the tour.

"Gigantour is one of the most significant heavy metal events in recent years," said Barry Gordon, senior vice president of worldwide programming of Image Entertainment. "All of these bands have great appeal to the progressive metal crowd, which will give the DVD and CD a tremendous reception at retail."

The DVD and CD will feature highlights from several concert stops, with the DVD also including exclusive backstage video footage. Both are scheduled for release the first half of 2006.

"There are a few very successful tours out each summer and in order to be significant, I knew the first Gigantour had to make an impact with top bands like DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE," said Dave Mustaine. "I wanted to put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high energy environment."

Maryland Death Fest Loses Two, Adds Five Bands

Two bands have dropped off next year's Maryland Death Fest, scheduled to take place May 27th and 28th 2006 at The Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Those bands are FISTFUCK and FRIGHTMARE. The following explanation has been posted on the Maryland Death Fest website:

"A band member in FISTFUCK had a personal matter come up and won't be able to travel to the US next May. It is not the bands fault, nor is it ours. The band has stated they will play shows in the US as soon as it is possible again.

Also, although FRIGHTMARE was the first band we confirmed for MDF IV, they have canceled. Now they don't want to make their appearance exclusive to MDF and that's the only explanation we can provide you. As frustrating as this for us, that's all we're going to say. "

The following five bands have been added, in addition to replacing FRIGHTMARE and FISTFUCK:

CLITEATER (Netherlands)
ROMPEPROP (Netherlands)
BURNT BY THE SUN (New Jersey)
MUCUPURULENT (Germany)
EMBALMER (Ohio)

They join the following list of previously confirmed bands: More...
