Kittie Turned Away At US Border

"Dave and Morgan Lander were turned back at the US-Canadian border just a few moments ago. This makes the appearance at Chicago’s Windy City Invitational extremely unlikely to occur at this point. The problem that necessitated the turn around should be resolvable before the Detroit show on the 15th. The band expresses its deepest apologies and we will keep you posted with more information and details as we are made aware of them"

Trivium Frontman Checks In From The Road

TRIVIUM frontman Matt Heafy has checked in with the following message to all their UK fans:

"Thank you all so much, our first ever headlining tour has been off the fucking charts - amazing - the tour has been sick! holy shit! we can't express enough how much the support means to us and truly how much fun we have had.

I don't even really know what to say other than - goddamn do the British know their metal.

I'm talking great moshing, air guitar-ing solos, soccer chants "TRIVIUM" "TRIVIUM" "TRIVIUM" thrown in, great pits, meeting as many people as humanly possible - all of it - it's been rad.

The crappy part about all of it... is that it's about to end, only 1 more show then the UK/Northern Ireland part of the ASCENDANCY TOUR comes to an end.

We plan on being back in the UK/Northern Ireland in March of '06 and by the looks of it next March will be sicker than the ASCENDANCY Tour, can't wait!!

Then we're off to Europe and back to reality supporting ARCH ENEMY and SOILWORK in Europe, we are definitely looking forward to seeing our European friends - here we come.

Then it is off to Japan - we can't wait to finally meet our Japanese friends and have some fun seeing what they are capable of - we have heard great things about the Japanese and their love of metal.

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts, emails, comments and support - we'll see you soon."

Eden Maine Go On Indefinite Hiatus

UK metal/hardcore/rock band Eden Maine have announced plans to go on an indefinite hiatus. Here's a statement from the group:

"Things haven't quite gone according to plan for us, despite awesome reviews for 'To you the first star' and 3 amazing months touring the UK and Europe, it's taken its toll on us financially forcing us to cancel any plans we had including a North American release. When you do so much off of your own back, follow the dream and take chances sometimes you just have to be realistic and for our own collective sanity we've taken this decision to take the strain off each other and get things straight. This isn't Eden Maine splitting up; this is just us going away for a while. We will still be getting together to write a new record, so we may just surprise you when you least expect it. Also, look out for other projects from each of us. It's a good time for us to experiment with other ideas and tread paths we may not have gone down as Eden Maine. We also hope to put the video for 'Cold Light' online in the near future. It was put together some time ago now but contains so many of the great times we've had together on tour that we'd like to share it with you."

Sepultura Post New Studio Report And Video Footage

Sepultura's webmaster has posted the following at the band's official website:

"Studio Report #6

8:30 PM, my cell phone rings, Andreas calling:

Me - "Hey Alemão!"
Andreas - "Hey man, can you come to the studio tonight?"
Me - "Sure.. what's up?"
Andreas - "We're recording the Horns today!"
Me - "I'm on my way!"

As a result, probably the most unexpected of the reports, download the video here. (Windows Media, 22MB).

This week they'll also record the Cellos, more guitar solos and finish the vocals. Keep checking."

This Week In Metal: September 29th, 2005

Top 10 Albums:

1. Opeth - Ghost Reveries, Last Week #1, Weeks on Chart 2
2. BTBAM - Alaska, Last Week #2, Weeks on Chart 2
3. Hypocrisy - Virus, Last Week #8, Weeks on Chart 2
4. Every Time I Die - Gutten Phenomenon, Last Week #4, Weeks on Chart 2

9. Biohazard - Means to an End, Last Week #9, Weeks on Chart 2
10. YOB - The Unreal Never Lived, Last Week #10, Weeks on Chart 2

As you can see Opeth is still holding strong among the top of the albums chart, a second straight week at #1 has Ghost Reveries looking great as their new album. Nothing new to the top 10 this week unfortunatly, they just shuffled around. There are however, some noteable new commers looking to enter next week, including God Forbids new effort, A Constitution of Reason, as well as A Dozen Furies - A Concept of Fire. Between the Buried and Me held strong at #2, but it looks like they may just be stuck peaking there. Hypocrisy was the big jumper this week comming from #8 to #3, and the bottom dweller of the week was Arch Enemy falling 2 spots to #5.

Top 10 Singles - (Last Week) (On Chart)

1. God Forbid - Chains of Humanity -- 1
2. Jacknife - Surrender Never -- 1
3. Matthew K Heafy - The End -- 1
4. Darkest Hour - This Will Outlive Us 9 2
5. Throwdown - We Will Rise -- 1
6. Byzantine - Taking Up Serpants -- 1
7. The Abscense - Necropolis 5 2
8. Every Time I Die - Guitarred and Feathered 3 2
9. BTBAM - Selkies -- 1
10. Soilent Green - Forgive and Regret 2 1

This singles chart jumps around alot more then the albums do, as of course its based on whats currently being played on the metal \m/ airwaves around the area. Only 4 songs remained on the chart this week, with alot of newcommers including God Forbids first single Chains of Humanity, which will see a video soon this week. Matthew K Heafy of Trivium had his RoadRunner all-star track all over the place and surprizingly was third most played this week in metal. Darkest Hour is still remaining strong and currently on the road everyday in support of their new album. Byzantines new album has been out a few weeks and is slowly gaining a big following, the album which carries the same name as the single can be heard all over metal satellite radios. Soilent Green is noticeable hanging on for the second week in a row, despite dropping 8 spots.

And thats all for this week in metal, keep the horns high \m/
