Draconian To Record 'Bonus' Album This Fall
Swedish gothic doom metal band DRACONIAN have posted the following message on their official web site:
"DRACONIAN is about to record a bonus album this fall. Note that it's NOT the follow up to 'Arcane Rain Fell'. The album will feature three new songs, two or three demo songs in new versions and three covers. As for the new songs; we can promise heavy and truly tearful songs in dark gothic splendor. Prepare to weep! The working title is 'The Burning Halo' and the album will be released through Napalm Records at the end of the year."
DRACONIAN's sophomore album, "Arcane Rain Fell", was released in January 2005 through Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Where Lovers Mourn" was recorded at Studio Underground in V?ster?s, Sweden and contains more than 60 minutes of music, including the 16-minute epic "Death, Come Near Me" (previously released on the 2002 demo "Dark Oceans We Cry").
Esoteric Seek New Drummer
British doomsters ESOTERIC are currently looking for a new drummer following the recent departure of Andy Semmens. All applicants must be experienced and have an open mind. The band has been in existence for 13 years, and are currently preparing their fifth album. For more information, contact greg@bereft.co.uk or esoteric@bereft.co.uk.
ESOTERIC's most recent album, "Subconscious Dissolution into the Continuum", was released in June 2004 via Season of Mist.
Shining Reforms w/ New Lineup, Plan Tour and Album
Reactivated Swedish Black Metal'ers SHINING have returned. SHINING are now officially allied with the highly repected French record label Osmose Productions.
SHINING leader Kvarforth last year announced the death of the band due to many unpleasant circumstances which have been prominent the past years, both within the band and around him personally. It was said that their album "IV - The Eerie Cold" (Avantgarde, 2005) would be their last. Shortly after the CD's completion, members Phil A. Cirone and Hellhammer (MAYHEM) left the band. Now SHINING return with a basically entirely new lineup consisting of Ludvig Hvit (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, FIREBIRD) on drums, John Doe (CRAFT, TWIN EARTH) on guitar, Hallander on bass and Casado on guitar. The reason for this new lineup is simply because there is a need to play live, which never would have worked out in the long run with the previous members considering the distance between them. A new era has begun to take shape.
SHINING recently played their first three shows ever (one in Sweden and two in Norway) and are currently planning on touring until early 2006, when they will comence the recordings of "V - Besvikelsens Dystra Monotoni" (Osmose, 2006), the follow-up to 2005's "IV - The Eerie Cold". The group's official web site has been updated after a long time of silence from the SHINING camp. Included are new promo photos and live photos from the three recent live performances.

New Blaze Lineup Complete
The following press release from Blaze manager Neil Marklew has been posted at Blazefans.com:
"Hi Metallers,
It gives me great pleasure to make the following announcement as I believe it has been long overdue. As you may be aware, we have not had a 'permanent' band line-up for some time now but I believe we have always had good quality musicians in the line-ups at past Blaze shows and would like to thank Phil Greenhouse, Wayne Banks, Jason Bowld, Dave Knight, Nick Douglas, Dani Loeble and the original four members for all their hard work during their time in the band.
Since the departure of the last two original members (Steve Wray and John Slater) in September 2004, we always knew that 2005 was going to be the year to start to put things back on track, and, we wanted to put together a band again. Now, I believe we have, although due to the commitments that each of 'the new guys' have, we cannot be certain that we will not have to use stand-ins again as they are all in demand. However, every effort will be made to ensure that this is not the case, but, you can be sure that in the event we do a good quality stand-in will be used.

Twisted Method Guitarist Found Dead
Former TWISTED METHOD guitarist Andy Howard was reportedly found dead in his bed Friday afternoon (September 16). He was 23 years old. Howard left TWISTED METHOD back in May, citing his desire to take care of his twin girls at home as the reason for his departure.
According to The News-Press, TWISTED METHOD were one of only two rock acts to originate in Lee County, Florida and go on to sign national recording contracts. The band were signed to MCA in 2002 and released "Escape from Cape Coma" the following year. In 2003, the band were tapped to perform on the second stage at Ozzfest.
Over the past two years, TWISTED METHOD continued to tour and and bring new "inmates" (as they called their fans) to their asylum of sound. Their first show back home after Ozzfest at the defunct Neptune's was sold out and their performance at radio station 99X's X-Fest stole the show from more popular bands such as PUDDLE OF MUDD and TRAPT.
Following TWISTED METHOD's split in June, the group's vocalist, Derrick "Tripp" Tribbett, formed a new project called MAKESHIFT ROMEO with ex-TWISTED METHOD bassist Derek DeSantis (who plays guitar in the new band). The new group also includes ex-MOTOGRATER bassist Jonny Nailz and former SLITHERYN drummer Tom "T-Bone" Burke.
