Disturbed Drummer Proposes Onstage

At last night's (Aug. 31) DISTURBED show in Milwaukee WI, drummer Mike Wengren proposed to his girlfriend onstage. Before the set closer, "Stupify", DISTURBED frontman David Draiman handed the mic over to Mike, who explained how he's spent a lot of time in Milwaukee recently and how he met his girlfriend here. He then invited her onstage and proposed to her (and, of course, she said yes). The band congratulated him, had some shots, and then proceeded to finish the show.

DISTURBED's third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", is scheduled for release on September 20 via Reprise. The album features the debut of new bassist John Moyer (ex-THE UNION UNDERGROUND).

Obituary Guitarist Back On Board

Shortly after guitarist Allen West announcing his departure from Obituary, the following message has been posted on the official Obituary website:

"First I need to say how much we feel for the people of New Orleans, Mississippi and Florida!!!!! Living in Florida my whole life I am well aware of what a storm like this can do, but it seems like everything time it happens you are once again amazed by the power of mother nature. We are in VA and Napalm showed up last night! We had a few cool ones and it is good to see them. We are ready to take the roof off Jaxx tonight! Rumors have been flying all over the place and our message board and fans email have been blown up with people asking about Allen West and whether or not he was going to play tonight. Once again, if you do not read it here then maybe you shouldn't believe it. Allen will be here tonight and we will get it done! DT and I sat down last night a put together a viscous set list!!!!!!!! Dry Kill Logic Announces New Tour Dates, Info

Dry Kill Logic has been on the road for the last seven months. In Cliff's Rigano's own words, "There's no rest for the wicked." The bad are currently on the east coast, heading up towards Canada, where they will finish the last few weeks of the Gigantour. In early September, DKL will launch the New Level of Aggression II tour, a fall headlining tour presented by Vestal (watches), where they'll be taking out their good friends in Five Bolt Main and Alston. Dry Kill Logic are also plannging a possible European and British tour in late November and early December and possible Australian dates with Megadeth.

DKL recently put online for sale a poster pack which includes all past and present posters, a Dry Kill Logic sticker and a Jager guitar pic all rolled up and shipped to you in a tube. Also find online, for sale, the album: The Dead and Dreaming, hoodies and t-shirts designed by their own Jason Bozzi.

Dimebag's Guitar Enshrined At Hard Rock Cafe

For heavy metal fans, the violent death of Pantera and Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott in Dec. 2004, ranks among rock's greatest communal losses: Buddy Holly, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain.

But if "Dimebag's" murder at a Columbus, Ohio concert marks the day the metal music died, his rowdy spirit lives on as was evident at Hard Rock Cafe on Wednesday.

Abbott's live-in girlfriend, Rita Haney, and his brother and band mate, drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, were on hand to unveil an electric guitar belonging to the murdered guitarist, among new memorabilia items installed at the restaurant.

About 150 fans clamored near the Hard Rock stage for the afternoon presentation to make a connection that even they couldn't always quite explain. "Dime," as he was known, was a different kind of rock god — accessible and down-to-earth.

"I had to be here," said Rocky Rios, 22. "He was so ... cool. At a thing like this, he'd just shake your hand."

Jessica Martin, 23, and Elliot Henry, 22, arrived together wearing Pantera T-shirts. "I'm here pretty much in tribute to him, just to show respect," Martin said.

"He's just everything to me," said Henry, who plays guitar. "I've listened to him since I was 9. The reason I love music is because of him."

Introducing Deafening

Hey guys,

I finally got round to introducing myself, my name's Sean , I'm 21 and I am a university student based in Johannseburg , South Africa. After listening to metal for many years I am glad to actually be part of a team that brings the news to all the fans out there. Being based in Africa I know exactly how hard it can be to get decent metal news , so it will be my job to not only shed some light on international news but that of the developing South African metal scene as well.

My metal taste is pretty broad and includes such bands as Black Sabbath , Judas Priest , Megadeth , Sepultura , Soulfly , Fear Factory , Arch Enemy , Dark Tranquility and yes In Flames to name but a few. That's the short list , after all this is only an introduction.
