Disturbed Drummer Proposes to Girlfriend Onstage
At last night's (Aug. 31) DISTURBED show in Milwaukee WI, drummer Mike Wengren proposed to his girlfriend onstage. Before the set closer, "Stupify", DISTURBED frontman David Draiman handed the mic over to Mike, who explained how he's spent a lot of time in Milwaukee recently and how he met his girlfriend here. He then invited her onstage and proposed to her (and, of course, she said yes). The band congratulated him, had some shots, and then proceeded to finish the show.
DISTURBED's third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", is scheduled for release on September 20 via Reprise. The album features the debut of new bassist John Moyer (ex-THE UNION UNDERGROUND).

Hey people...i was at that show and it was freaking awesome! i had no clue what Mike (the drummer) was gonna say and when he proposed the place exploded and everyone was yelling and clapping and got even louder when she said yes..it was awesome..congrats to you Mike. the show was f*ckin incredible.

Yeah i was at that show too, but unlike you metalman i believe the concert SUCKED. Disturbed has gone light as well as ill nino. Ill nino acting like hard asses on their set threatening someone in the crowd and telling people to mosh to "how can i live without you!?!?" are you kidding me. the only reason i went to the show is bc i got in for free, maybe if both those bands came out with releases like their first albums theyd be good again, but they wont do it, they will all remain mainstream so they can appeal to lighter audiences and make phat cash off it. Just like slipknot, staind, sevendust, korn, static x, mudvayne, ha even taproot, etc. All had heavy debut albums and SOLD OUT big time after that. My work here is done, nu "metal" can eat a d*ck.

Being from Chicago and all its hard for me to bash on Disturbed like that, but truth be told - the purpose of going to a "metal" show is to release stress and anger and being in a decent pit, NOT watching guys dancing and grinding with their girlfriends next to me, along with seeing moms with their kids in the crowd, the crowd might as well have stuck their lighters up for half the set - and that guy proposing top the cake that was weak... theres a time and a place for everything and there was nothing stress releasing about that love scene displayed on stage. Some of the new Sevendust songs are sort of heavy, but dude they already released an accoustic cd, i can never take them seriously again man, come on. Next time i wanna see Disturbed play live along with all those other bands i mentioned above, i'll just flip on the tonight show or conan obrien

hey kang, stress reliefe shouldnt be the only reason u go to a metal show..they are a band too not just some sort of strange stress releaving doctor..they have some great riffs and great songs. some people go to a metal show to actually hear the band because they like the band..but just cause its not double bass and the same f*cking riff over and over again u say their sell outs..they are musicallly talented people who are better than a lot of people at what they do.. i will say that the first album was much heavier but the second album is much better musically. and it shows that david can actually sing..im not not saying that the first album sucked because it was awesome but i think believe was awesome too. and when the drummer (mike) proposed on stage, (which i and pretty much the entire crowd thought that was awesome if u couldnt tell by everyone cheering and clapping) that wasnt weak at all..just cause hes in a band doesnt mean hes not a human being..

disturbed is so gay. so so gay!!! And metalman, the same riff over and over again is not musically talent. Too many bands do that sh**. And that's the problem with metal these days. Bands are too scared to experiment and their philosophy is the harder the better. Not always the case.

Never did care for Disturbed myself really..... but this is kind of what bands do.
They start out weird and heavy and nuanced etc (though Disturbed have never struck as anything other than the the mild-sauce of metal anyway) and then they "experiment", which means they add "normal" elements to their music that any average joe can say "HEEEEEY!....I LIKE THAT BEAT...I CAN DANCE TO IT"
and thus a cool band is lost too selling out.....but you have to start in some off kilter place to sellout at all and Disturbed hardly seemed to do that.

If anything taking a more traditional route may save Disturbed, or at least buy them some time......Disturbed arent selling out by being less nu-metal, they've always sucked.....Limp Bizkit is 10,000 times worse however....their metal like Toby Keith is metal.

I dont know Key. Seems like the riffs are more metal like and their are hints
of thrash in that single. Maybe they'll do some harmony and lead parts I would say
the next cd not this one. But they are heading in the right direction If they lean toward
a more metal approach I can see this band being a remotley power metal kind of
band.

I love Disturbed and always will! I just listened to their new CD and it totally rocks! Distubed is one of few bands that change how and what they sing about. That is not selling out! That just means that they have a open mind to what they want; not just playing what everyone is telling them sells!
I wasnt at the concert that mike proposed but i say GOOD LUCK! This is one of the reasons i love Disturbed! They dont treat the crowd like they are just there to watch and not really get involved with the band.

I mean I think Disturbed f*ckin rocked during The Sickness and they got less metal and they dropped dead...but just because someone else has another opinion than you doesn't make you lesser or better ok....
