Disillusion Update On New Record
Since February, Disillusion are working on their second full length record at their Salvation Recording studio in Leipzig and are now very close to finishing the songwriting process. As already presumed months ago: the new record will not be a follow-up to "Back To Times Of Splendor" - that is for sure. However, the new songs are much more Disillusion than ever before. The band is also looking forward to soon leaving "Back To Times Of Splendor" behind them, most of all live. Despite the constant attempts to shrink the monolithic material to a live-3-piece, it simply will not get any better.
Upcoming Disillusion German tour dates:
Nov. 19 Oschatz - E-Werk
Dec. 03 Aue - Winter's Dawn Festival
Dec. 10 Höchen - Glanhalle "Killing Santa Claus Party"
Dec. 16 Hamburg - Fundbureau
Dec. 17 Hannover - Underworld
Dec. 26 Bautzen - Power Of Expression Festival
Jan. 21 Bayreuth - KOMM.
Recordings of the new record will probably begin in February - where and how they will be done, will be decided soon. A first, tentative release date for the record has been set for May/June 2006.

Now Playing: darkstar's Playlist
Well, it is finally my turn to share my playlist. I'm not really good at keeping up with the new metal and most of the stuff I listen to may have been out for years before I buy them. Anyway, here's my playlist:
“All Against All” was the first ever The Haunted song that I have ever heard and I liked it. Then I heard the furious “99” and the haunting “Abysmal” and got hooked on the band. However, it wasn’t until 2 weeks ago that I actually picked up rEVOLVEr. I don’t know why it took me so long to do so but I’m glad I eventually did. In short, it’s an amazing thrash metal album.
I picked up Dark Tranquillity’s Character when it first came out at the beginning of the year and I still enjoy popping it into my cd player. This album is definitely one of my top 5 albums of 2005. I love just about everything on the album – every song from beginning to end, the raging riffs, Mikael Stanne’s rough death metal growls, the atmospheric and melodic electronics…everything. More...
Hoglan Says Dark Angel Reunion Will 'Never Happen'
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD drummer Gene Hoglan (also ex-DARK ANGEL, DEATH, OLD MAN'S CHILD) has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"We stopped by the Harley manufacturer in Milwaukee yesterday, and took a little tour, pretty cool stuff. Tour manager/drum tech Bryan Seely was quite disappointed, though. He thought it was boring. He's rides a '49 Panhead and a '51 Panhead, and we were surrounded by 'Banker Bikers,' as he refers to them. The tour guide went down the line and asked everyone what they ride, and I was kinda at a loss for words, so when he got to me, I just blurted out, 'Chicks!' If he had been drinking milk, it would have come out his nose...He told me later that he'd never got an answer such as that before, so I figured they probably don't have many puerile rock-dudes taking the Harley tour...
"The show last night was killer! Milwaukee has always been a great place to play for STRAPPING. I do believe we have lost IT DIES TODAY for the rest of the tour, however. That's a shame, They were cool dudes, and we all wish them well.
"I got to hang with my brother Cris McCarthy. He was DARK ANGEL's guitarist for our last year of existence, and he and I were writing the never-recorded 'Atrocity Exhibition' album together. It's a shame DFA [DARK FUCKING ANGEL] couldn't hold it together, 'cause that album was gonna rip. I think, anyway. DARK ANGEL reunion=never gonna happen. We are gonna leave it 'legendary.' Why blow the myth? And oh, we would, believe me...
"Peter from DARKANE finally got to play his own kit, and damn! He's good, too! DARKANE is really stormin'. Fast, meaty, aggro thrash metal, played really well. What else do you need? They go on first, so do not miss 'em. Burton [C. Bell, FEAR FACTORY vocalist] and I just did a quick radio interview together at WKLQ, here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a FEAR FACTORY interview that I just tagged along to. Burt did most of the talking, and I just pretty much said, 'Yeah, what he said,' in my best Barry White voice...
"Tonight's show should rock, and I'm sure we'll piss off all the rednecks...it's what we do..."

Green Carnation Acoustic Album Details Revealed
Norway's prog metal masters Green Carnation return to the music scene in 2006 on a much softer note when "The Acoustic Verses" is released January 24 th , 2006 in North America via The End Records.
"The Acoustic Verses" finds the sextet successfully maneuvering through acoustic realms, peppered with passionate guitar riffs and eloquent melodies. It's a distant step from their prog metal/hard rock ways of previous material, but in many ways, it's what you'd expect from a band like Green Carnation. Never one to stand still.
Green Carnation have changed things up again and this might send some previous listeners askew, but for the real die-hard fans of the band, they'll come to understand that with the amount of work that went into the production, lyrics and music of "The Acoustic Verses" that the music here is just as potent and expressive as any of the heavier material they have released.

Diecast Guitarist Checks In From The Road
Diecast guitarist Jon Kita checks in with the follow report from the road:
"So we've been on the road for almost a week now, and we have been overwhelmingly surprised by the support from everybody who has come out to the shows. We wrapped filming for our latest video in Brooklyn last Saturday with Dave Brodsky , and we want to thank Dave , Castro , Scarlett and all of the crew for their long hours and dedication to completing the shoot. Jack Nicholson as Melvin Eudaul said it best when he said, 'People who speak in metaphors should shampoo my crotch,' so I'll use a simile: The average temperature during the video shoot was like the weather one might expect when harvesting ice or hunting polar bear.
"Everybody was a good sport when it came to the cold, and we had a great time, so it was well worth it.
"Thanks are in order to Tom and all the guys from Vext and Brooklyn, Rob and Rick from Redhill, everybody else who came out to participate, to the squatters who let us use there house for the shoot, Eddie , Angel and the residents of Morgan St. for coming out to make sure things ran smoothly. And again to Tom and Luke who sadly fell victim to the watery depths of the moat.
"The tour has been so fun far, and we've been drunk. The shows have been great, and the turnout has been surprising for us, and it is nice to see a lot of familiar faces coming back to the shows. We've been switching up the set list a bit and playing out a new song that we wrote for the re-release of 'Tearing Down Your Blue Skies' . We've gotten a lot of vacant stares that turn into applause once we finish the song. We've been taking that as a good sign.
"Last night we played an impromptu set in a warehouse somewhere on the Ohio State Buckeyes campus. At about 5:00 a.m. we finished up and thanked everybody for having us.
"We are looking forward to getting back down South and playing as far down as Ft. Lauderdale in the next week. It's been far too long.
"Thank you to everybody that has been a part of the tour: BLEED THE SKY (sorry for kidnapping your guitarists), INDEX CASE and AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE . Until the next time, keep your finger off the trigger and don't make eye contact with bears. I hear they can smell menstrual blood from a mile away. Be safe."
Rammstein: "We Are Not Nazis"
Cult German rockers Rammstein have vowed never to let their home country's fascist past affect their music - insisting they can't be held responsible for the actions of previous generations.
The "Ich Will" hitmakers are frequently misunderstood by fellow Germans and insist fear of being associated with infamous dictator Adolf Hitler is to blame.
Guitarist Oliver Riedel says, "I would have to say Germany is the country that most often misunderstands us.
"Germans are repressed in a lot of ways. They feel a sense of shame about what happened in the war.
"This means a lot of bands and a lot of people are quite cowardly in what they do and what they say. So they'll pick up on the fact that our singer rolls his R's and say that he's imitating Hitler and that we're Nazis.
"This is nonsense but it is the way a lot of people in our country think. We are not responsible for what our fathers and grandfathers did. It was not our fault. We have no blood on our hands."
Film On Norwegian Black Metallers Due Next Year
A film company in San Diego, ZU33 is currently developing 'Lords of Chaos', a fictional movie based on the real life events that surrounded the Norwegian black metal music scene and the Church burnings associated with it.
Set in the in the early 1990s, the film goes into pre-production in November and should be filmed in Februrary 2006.
The film will be based on the book 'Lords of Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground.' The book looks at the events that characterised the black metal scene including the murder of Mayhem's Euronymous (Aasarth Oystein) and his murderer mastermind Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh).
