Long-running Southern Californian death metal band SADISTIC INTENT will be performing live at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, December 2. Also appearing on the bill will be MORTICIAN and HIRAX.

In other news, SADISTIC INTENT have posted the following update on their official web site:

"To those of you who have gotten in contact about the recording, we simply have not been in the studio this year due to circumstances beyond our control. Like we mentioned before, studio engineer Bernie Versailles (AGENT STEEL / ABATTOIR) has been very busy and we have come to the point where we have to move on. Taking over the project will be our next studio engineer, longtime friend of Bernie's, Rudy PsykoPain, and we plan to get back to work in the studio by early next year. Reverend Begin Rehearsing w/ David Wayne's Brother

According to a posting on REVEREND's official web site, the surviving members of the group have begun rehearsing with vocalist Dennis Carnell, brother of the band's late frontman David Wayne (ex-METAL CHURCH). "All is going well. We will keep you up to-date. Still more to do Sunday [Nov. 6]," the group write.

Wayne's bandmates had previously stated about David's passing, "When a bandmate dies, the remaining members have to make a decision; continue on with the same beliefs, values, and direction, or stop playing together and pursue other projects. In our case, David left us specific instructions. After a period of mourning and in David Wayne's honor, we will follow through with the 'Godfather of Metal''s wishes.

"We are working on our older material plus the new collaborated songs with lyrics by David Wayne and are in search of a lead vocalist. We are not seeking a replacement for David Wayne, but a vocalist who wants metal to be metal and carry on the tradition and give justice to the lyrics and music of REVEREND!"

REVEREND 2005 is:

Davey Lee - Guitar
Nacho Vara - Guitar
Jesse Vara - Drums
Brendon Kyle - Bass

As previously reported, Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
