Daylight Dies Release Date Confirmed
Candlelight Records has confirmed March 7 as the US release date for "Dismantling Devotion" from Daylight Dies. It is the second full-length album from the band, currently headquartered in North Carolina, and officially ends a four-year recording gap.
The near hour-long Dismantling Devotion is a giant step forward for the already popular quintet. With album recording split between Volume 11 Studios and Techtronic Laboratories (North Carolina), mixing by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Sweden) and mastering by Thomas Eberger at The Cutting Room (Sweden), the album is already receiving rave reviews from early listenings. Katatonia guitarist Anders Nystrom says, "I really hope others will be able to share the experience that fills you up for the loss for words when listening to this album. If Dismantling Devotion would have been released in 2005, it would have been my choice for the album of the year."
Daylight Dies toured with Lacuna Coil (US) and Katatonia (Europe) in 2003 and are already in the planning stages to hit the road in support of Dismantling Devotion. Guitarist Barre Gambling says, "I look forward to hitting the road again and playing our new songs for people, especially after a long hibernation."
Confirmed track listing for Dismantling Devotion is: A Life Less Lived, Dead Air, A Dream Resigned, All We Had, Solitary Refinement, Strive to See, Lies that Bind, Dismantling Devotion. The album features compositions from photographer Jeff Brubaker.

Vicious Rumors All-Star Lineup For CD and Tour
Vicious Rumors, are in the studio recording their 9th studio album scheduled for release in May 06. Laying down the tracks on this release will be an all-star, veteran lineup: Geoff Thorpe (guitars), Brad Gillis (guitars), James Rivera (vocals), Dave Starr (bass) and Larry Howe (drums).
Brad Gillis (Ozzy, Night Ranger) returns to metal with Vicious Rumors for their new cd and tour. Brad entered the metal scene in 1982, stepping up to replace the late, great, Randy Rhoades on Ozzy’s “Diary of a Madman” tour. Brad left Ozzy following his electrifying performance on “Speak of the Devil – Live” and went on to multi-platinum success with Night Ranger. There is no doubt that Brad’s guitar work is sure to be a formidable addition to the VR guitar assault.
James Rivera (Helstar, Flotsam & Jetsam, Seven Witches) brings a true metal spirit to Vicious Rumors. With his powerful and dynamic voice, James has recorded and toured with many legendary metal outfits and now finds a new home in VR for their 2006 release and tour.
Dave Starr, VR’s original bass player, has rejoined the band. Dave performed on VR’s earliest releases including, “Soldiers of the Night”, “Vicious Rumors” self-titled album, “Welcome to the Ball” and “Plug in and Hang On – Live”. With Dave’s return, the band is now 3 original members strong reforming the very nucleus that originated VR’s classic style and sound.
“This is truly a very exciting time for VR. The chemistry between the five of us is very wicked!” says band founder, Geoff Thorpe.
Vicious Rumors is planning a worldwide tour in support of their new CD following its release this spring.
Metallica Begin Rehearsing For New Album
On November 29, 2005, METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich spoke to the Danish newspaper B.T. about his relationship with Danish Hollywood actress Connie Nielsen, in which he makes a brief reference to Metallica as well.
"Fuck, where do I begin? We have the language, the culture, the sarcasm and the irony in common. We have…yeah, the whole package, because she understands me," Ulrich told the newspaper in a phone interview while being driven from New York City to JFK Airport.
The couple had been in town to celebrate Connie's son Sebastian's 15th birthday and were now returning to the Ulrich's estate in the wealthy Tiburon district in the San Francisco Bay Area.
"Yes, it looks like Connie has moved in with me," the drummer confirmed. "We're taking everything day by day, but she's sitting next to me right now.
"Connie has been — how would you say it in Danish? — a pleasant addition to my life over the last couple of years. It's been nice to have had the Danish side of me become more prominent. To take short trips to Denmark and have a summer vacation with her family in Nordjylland."
Is it because you're afraid of losing touch with your roots that the "Danishness" has become more important to you?
"You know what? That might very well be the case. At any rate, it's something that you definitely want to hold on to and that becomes more and more important when you're a 41-year-old living abroad."
Upon Ulrich’s return to San Francisco later on November 29, METALLICA were due to start the very first rehearsals for the band’s ninth studio album.
"I wouldn't say that I have a plan or an idea of where we're headed, but to kickstart METALLICA once again makes me happy like a kid."
Lars and Connie will be celebrating Christmas in San Francisco together with Connie's son Sebastian and Lars' two sons, Layne, 4, and Myles, 7 (with estranged wife Skylar Ulrich). Joining them will be Lars' father Torben Ulrich, who will be accompanied by his wife Molly.
Do you want to get married again?
Lars: "Yeah, well, first I have to get divorced [laughs], so let's take everything nice and slow, OK? Very, very slow."
Your girlfriend has told one of the other [Danish] newspapers that she would love to have more children, so now you are forced to oblige…
"What? She has what? That pleases me, that pleases me," chuckles Lars.

Cronian Sign With Century Media
Borknagar members' side project CRONIAN ( formerly known as ION) have officially signed a worldwide record deal with Century Media Records. After several rounds of discussions we inked a 3 record deal which both parties feel comfortable with.
CRONIAN is a duo consisting of Vintersorg and Rystein G. Brun. Already back in 1999 we had plans to do a project together, something beside respective bands like Vintersorg and Borknagar. The idea floated around for a few years in our minds, but in 2002 we started the actual process of constructing a musical expression, then under the name Ion. We had a mutual agreement to only proceed with the band if we managed to establish a unique and original sound. That's what we have done and that's what we prepare to show the world....
The debut album will be released early next year, a more specific date will be announced soon. The title of the album will be "Terra" and the album will contain 9 songs. Some song titles are: "Cronian", "The Alp", "Iceolated" and "Nonexistence".
