Pit Stories: Full Bowel Evacuation And Beyond
Vocalist Tom of Rochester-based outfit Allfather hits us up with a new Pit Story today, which actually turns out to be a rendition of all the craziest things the band has seen at a live show.
From Greg Puciato's infamous on-stage defecation in '02 to a less-than-genius metal fan breaking his legs, here's a run down of some of the most ridiculous things you'll see while moshing out a metal show:
What's the wildest thing we've seen in the pit? Well, between the five of us, we seem to have witnessed everything from permanent facial scarring to full bowel evacuation.
To begin with, Joe (rhythm guitar) was at Slipknot show at the old Astoria in London and someone jumped off the balcony into the pit, I saw the same thing at an Offspring show at Brixton Academy (way higher balcony). Joe also saw someone climb one of the huge tent poles whilst watching Arch Enemy at Download and then jump off. Dude broke both legs but apparently came back the next day to see Slayer.
Both Joe and I were at the Reading Festival and when Dillinger Escape Plan opened the main stage and Greg Puciato took a huge dump onstage, smeared his shirt with it and then threw the shirt into the pit. Alan (lead guitar) saw a guy get run over by his own wheelchair a Gallows show and finally Kieron (drums) saw a front man at a hardcore show throw a chair into the pit and hit a girl, scarring her.
Be careful in the pit kids!
Allfather's "Bless the Earth With Fire" album is coming April 29th and can be pre-ordered right here, with two advance songs available below. More...

The new violin parts are icing on the cake, creating an even more dramatic atmosphere!"
Composer/keyboardist János Mayer added: "With Krisztina joining the band I've got a new toy, and a totally new and unique way as well, to improve on the dramatic side of the songs, moving them to a completely new dimension. Volunteer Premieres "Wrong" Track
A cross-genre coalition of rock, indie, punk, hardcore, and metal musicians from Wisconsin has come together to release "Unintimidated," a compilation protesting the actions of governor (and former Republican presidential candidate) Scott Walker.
Officially due out April 8th, all proceeds from the sale of the compilation will go towards helping local soup kitchens and area Planned Parenthoods. Full details are available here.
Today we're bringing you an exclusive first listen to a track off the release. Whether you care about the political aspect or not, "Wrong" by noise outfit Volunteer is a track well worth hearing - check it out below! Volunteer commented on joining the project:
"We got involved with this compilation because Scott Walker doesn't care about folks in this state. He's had a direct negative effect on people we know. He's busted unions, gone after education and defunded Planned Parenthood. He's bought and paid for by the Koch brothers and the Republican party.
"He doesn't have public interest in mind. When he's written into history, he'll be up there next to McCarthy as one of this state's worst governors. I'm glad he didn't get too far with his presidential candidacy. What a joke. When DJ approached us to get involved, we didn't even have to think about it." More...

Wes Scantlin Abandoned By Band On Stage
Ouch, the sad Puddle Of Mudd saga continues (or maybe now comes to an end finally) as Wes Scantlin's band members abandoned him onstage during a set in Doncaster.
For some reason he decides to stay, sitting there staring at the crowd and occasionally mumbling incoherently. A video of the debacle has come online, courtesy of YouTube user mrmahoosive, which can be seen below.
Somebody in the crowd really wasn't pleased, repeating a constant scream of "Fuck you Wes, fuck off Wes, you're a disgrace!" (because apparently everyone didn't hear him the first seven or twelve times). The video's uploader comments:
"After a drunken start to a half gig in Doncaster, Wes Scantlin announced the band not playing together after he couldn't perform. He also kept waffling on about dan murano(?) stealing his house/money? He sat on stage trying to karaoke with the music after the band couldn't perform the rest of their set."
