Child Bite Streams "Video Blood"

In just two weeks, "Negative Noise," the impending new full-length from Detroit act Child Bite, will see official unveiling via Housecore Records. As a precursor to its release, today fifth movement "Video Blood" comes online and can be heard below.

Issues vocalist Shawn Knight of the track: "'Video Blood' is a bit different from the rest of the batch. We wanted to counter the more complicated tunes on Negative Noise by having some simpler ones. Everything from the bass lines to the repetitive lyrics to the overall structure are paired down from what we tend to do.

"Lyrically, it's about violence in entertainment. It's the antithesis of thinking that these types of films and games are bad for kids; my stance in the song is that it's good to be exposed and desensitized to that stuff. It has as much to do with the PMRC/Parental Advisory stickers as it does Columbine as it does that scene in A Clockwork Orange where Malcolm McDowell has his eyes forced open. Obviously, my references are of immediate relevance. All kidding aside, it can be summed up by this line from the song; 'Artificial violence satisfies the dark urges within.'"

You can also see Child Bite live with Voivod and King Parrot on these dates:

Montreal black metallers Éohum unleashed their new EP "Ealdfaeder" today via Mycelium Networks. Recorded at Chris Donaldson's (Cryptopsy) The Grid, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with the addition of seducing French Horn.

The follow-up to debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” features a line up of band founder Jeremy Perkins (guitar) who birthed the band from a poetic project, the return of Annie Perreault (French Horn/Flute), Sylvain Dumont (Guitar), Barrie Butler (Vocals), plus new comers Cesar Franco (bass) and Luca Belviso (drums), along with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist).

Band founder Jeremy Perkins comments: “The EP speaks generally about the lost voice of past cultures who were colonized and the decaying relationship humanity has with nature due to the societies we live in. The loss of traditions we held and relationships we had with nature.” More...

Full Of Hell / The Body Releases New Video

Next week will see the release of "One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache," the fittingly-titled, collaborative debut between apocalyptic doom duo The Body and grindcore/harsh noise sculptors, Full Of Hell.

Set for release on March 25th via Neurot Recordings, the offering came together during last year's massive North American trek, which united both bands. Amidst the chaos of tour life, the two groups found time to record together at Machines With Magnets in Providence, Rhode Island.

The session eventually culminated into the harrowing sounds found on "One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache," which is ultimately an audio reflection of their surroundings and their inability to cope therein. Check out a new video for the collaboration's second movement "Fleshworks" below.

"We went into this track wanting to create a song that was mellow yet driving," elaborates Full Of Hell vocalist Dylan Walker, "We were certainly channeling a lot of what The Body has been moving towards and a lot of what Full Of Hell has been into for some time. Dave, Lee, Seth and Keith [Machines With Magnets] all played drums on this track at the same time. It was a great feeling to have Chrissy Wolpert of the Assembly Of Light Choir singing on the track as well. Our friend Mitch Wells [Thou] created the video with only the lyrics and basic album themes to guide him. He made something that is very different for both bands and something we are very proud of. He captured what we were writing about from an angle that we hadn't even considered." More...

Dead Cross Streaming New Track

New supergroup Dead Cross - consisting of ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and members of The Locust, Retox, and Head Wound City - is streaming "We'll Sleep When They're Dead" online today.

Check it out below, courtesy of Rollingstone.com. The song, produced by Ross Robinson (The Cure, Sepultura, Slipknot, At the Drive-In), will appear on the band's debut album, coming up later this year.

Lombardo originally met his Dead Cross bandmates Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian when his group Fantomas toured with their band The Locust. He says, "With this band, I play harder, I play faster, and I play with the fury that this music demands. Each member brings a great deal of intensity and skill to the table. It's invigorating to work with them."

Serbian, frontman of Dead Cross and drummer of The Locust and Head Wound City, says, "The whole reason I turned my back on school and a 'normal' future was because of Lombardo's drumming."

You can see Dead Cross live on these upcoming dates:

Apr 9 - Vancouver, BC @ Rickshaw Theatre - Modified Ghost Festival w/ The Dillinger Escape Plan

Gloria Morti Posts "Executioner" Video

In conjunction with today's release of "Kuebiko," the new full-length from Finnish death metal culprits Gloria Morti, today the band unveils a video companion to eighth track, "Executioner."

"'Executioner' is a song about the dualism of doing something that has a negative net effect in the world," reveals guitarist Juho Räihä. "Good and bad are just our evaluations of a deed from our perspective. A terrorist, for instance, sees his acts as divinely mandated and inherently good, while the rest of the world sees the same act as evil. It all comes down to perspective and thus enables people to do evil things. This point is wrapped up in a story about an executioner who is just following orders, and thus doesn't do bad from his own perspective. All atrocities are done with 'good intentions.'"

Adds drummer Kauko Kuusisalo, "'Executioner' is definitely the most epic song on the album together with the final track. Once again, guitar melodies play a significant role in the song and there's actually a solo which is not that common for us. After the intro, the song starts to roll really smoothly until the 'grand finale,' the final riff/part of the song, which in my opinion is one of the greatest moments in Gloria Morti history. The video was filmed by Valtteri Hirvonen and OneManArmy. Production and editing was done by OneManArmy and it was filmed at Deep Noise Studios." More...

Ashcloud Finishes New Album

The second album by Sweden's filthy and crusty death metal beast Ashcloud is now finished and will drop May 1st via Xtreem Music. The label comments:

"We can assure you that this work is a huge step from their acclaimed debut and will settle the band as one of the most serious Swedish death metal forces! 'Children of the Chainsaw' was recorded, mixed and produced by Jonny Pettersson at Unbound Studios during late 2015 / early 2016 and mastered by Dave Rotten at Sanctuary Studios.

"The 12 songs included on the album have a far superior production than its predecessor and new songs keep a perfect balance of Swedish heaviness, crusty rawness and awesome melodies that are perfectly complemented by vocal duality between Jonny & Gareth, the main members behind Ashcloud. Any lover of bands like Carnage, Vomitory, Entombed, God Macabre, Bombs Of Hades... will love this new album!!" More...
