Fates Warning Album Details & Release Date

Metal Blade have confirmed that they will release Fates Warning's new album, "FWX," on October 5th. "FWX" was recorded in Stamford, Connecticut at Carriage House and will include the following song titles:

Helloween Sign With SPV

Helloween signs a new contract with Steamhammer / SPV The Hamburg, Germany native band which began in the 80's is one of the world's most successful acts, and their style has influenced countless bands over the course of 18 album releases. Helloween is one of the world's biggest live acts, and once again proved it at the Wacken Open Air in front of 40,000 excited fans. In 1987/1988, Helloween were under SPV distribution and brought Manfred Schuetz and SPV the house's first Gold albums for German sales - for 250,000 sold - for the metal masterpieces "Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1&2."

Original band member Michael Weikath: "SPV was our cornerstone and that is the basis of a successful partnership." SPV Managing Director: "Helloween is one of the first metal acts that brought the high standard of German heavy metal to the entire world. The amazing success of the first two Gold albums has stayed with me as one of my happiest memories and I'm proud that Helloween have signed directly to us at SPV/Steamhammer for the world."

The band will enter the studio together with producer Charlie Bauerfeind at the end of 2004 and begin the new album. The release is planned for Summer 2005, followed by a world tour for October 2005.

Children of Bodom EP Details Revealed

Finland's Children of Bodom will issue their new single, "Trashed, Lost & Strungout," on August 31 through Spinefarm Records. The CD-EP and DVD-EP versions of the single will follow in September in Finland and October in Germany. The complete track listing for the different formats is as follows:

Drowning Pool Chooses 'Love & War' As Next Single

"Love & War" has been chosen as the new single off Drowning Pool's sophomore album 'Desensitized', and it'll hit the airwaves later this month. Instil And Byzantine To Tour Europe This Fall

Dutch metal/metalcore band Instil (NL, Garden of Exile) are going to tour Europe with Byzantine (USA, Prosthetic records) in November. Byzantine are first going to do a few shows with Eden Maine and later on from the 17th Instil will hook up for 11 shows in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and maybe Denmark till the 28th of November. This tour is booked in cooperation with Glambookings.com and Loud Noise Bookings. More information will be available soon.

Festivalbussen Arrange Busses To Metalcamp

The Swedish company Festivalbussen.com will arrange busses to the Metalcamp festival in Slovenia. Some Swedish metal bands will be playing at the festival: Hypocrisy, Dark Funeral, Katatonia and Vintersorg. There will also be other bands like Danzig, Apocalyptica, Sentenced, Primal Fear, Destruction, Dew Scented, Fleshcrawl, Finntroll and more.

The location is situated in the Julijske Alp National park, in the city Tolmin, close to the beautiful surroundings of the Soèa river. The possibility to chill out on a sand beach or to swim in one of the purest rivers in Europe is unique in the European Festival history.

There will be 2 outdoor stages, camping ground inside the festival area, low-priced beer (1,5€), cheap food (hamburger about 2€), and of course some of the best metal bands on earth! So just everything what a Metalhead needs for the party of the year!

Rotting Christ Reveal New Album Tracklisting

ROTTING CHRIST, now a three piece following the amicable departure of guitarist Costas, will be releasing their new album Sanctus Diavolos through Century Media on September 20th. The album has been described as “the band going back to their darker, more savage musical roots and attitude” and was mixed by producer to the gods and DREAM EVIL guitarist Fredrik Nordstrom. Vocalist/guitarist Sakis produced the album.

National Napalm Syndicate Adds New Singer

Reunited Finnish speed/thrash metal pioneers National Napalm Syndicate have announced the addition of singer Ilkka Järvenpää (ex-Solution 13) to the group's ranks. The band are currently in the studio finalizing demos for the new album. National Napalm Syndicate wish "to thank Altti Veteläinen (For My Pain) and Aki Häkkinen (Perfect Chaos, Grinister) for their help with the vocals," reads an official statement from the group.

National Napalm Syndicate's current lineup includes the original guitar duo — Markku Jokikokko and Jukka Kyrö (Burning Point) — responsible for composing all of the group's early material. The band were one of the first speed/thrash metal acts to emerge from Finland. Their first album, "National Napalm Syndicate," came out through EMI Records in 1989.
