Dark Order Announces New Guitarist

"Yes folks, after 2 years, we now have a permanent second guitar player! It's Doug Dalton, formerly of many bands, including Grungeon. Full power has been restored to the Dark Order sound, as we continue to write the third album/DVD, which should be out June 2005. Doug's experience in the world of metal should prove invaluable. Doug's first gig was a surprise shocking appearance on the Metal for the Masses gig at the Annandale Hotel, last Friday night, where 400 metal maniacs witnessed Dark Order and its new power. The band received allot of great compliments that night, some people even commenting that Dark Order was the band of the night!

In other news, Dark Order's plans for an international tour for 2004 have been moved ahead to 2005, after the third album release, due to financial constraints suffered by singer Raul (shit happens!).

Also, Dark Order has a new web address: www.darkorder-metal.com

So from all of us, to our latest new brother, Doug...
FFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUURRRGGGHHHH ! GOOD BOY FUCKEN!!!!!

Gene Simmons' Lawyer Raids N. Carolina KISS Expo

Gene Simmons and Company raided Sunday's North Carolina KISS Expo looking for illegal DVD's and Videos along with various other bootlegged KISS material on Sunday, Aug. 8th. According to various sources Gene Simmons is trying to root out a notorious bootlegger. In attendance was Special Guest, Gordon G.G. Gebert, author of the books KISS & Tell, KISS & Tell More, and Rock & Roll War Stories. Gebert states, "At first I didn't know what was going on. When I realized they were confiscating bootlegs I watched the drama unfold. Then some guy claiming to be Gene Simmons' lawyer came to where I was signing my new book and we had a heated exchange. He tried to stop me from selling merchandise until he checked it out. I told him he had no authority to stop me from selling legal merchandise. The exchange was interesting to say the least. After he realized I had nothing illegal they left the venue."

KISS Expo Organizer is due in court Friday, August 13th.

"Official statement: Stefan Says Goodbye!

After 6 years as the vocalist of Morifade, Stefan now has decided to leave his position in the band. His own statement follows:

Due to personal reasons I have decided that my days in Morifade are over. I would like to thank the guys in the band, it´s been a wonderful journey! Best of luck in the future! Stefan's decision to leave the band did not come as a shock to us when he broke the news a couple of months ago, we had felt this coming for about a year and a half.

We thank Stefan for his long time in Morifade and wishes him the best of luck in the future!

All this means that right now we are searching for a new vocalist and we have several singers waiting to be auditioning for the band, in the meantime, ALL SINGERS are welcome to send us demos and info about themselves if you are interested to be the lead vocalist in Morifade!"

Satyricon Reports On WOA, Set List Revealed

Norwegian black metallers Satyricon have posted this report from Wacken Open Air 2004 on their official website:

Today there is a lot of tired and happy people out there. It's the same for us. We put a lot into preparing this show and the weekend itself was one facing many challenges of practical nature. But, the show went well and we were very proud to see how far this genre has come. How far? 43,000 people, they told us! INSANE. All there throughout the entire show, loud and proud. Perfectionists as we are, there were things that in the bigger picture is not important that we let get to us. Then we decided to go for a walk to talk to fans and press to see how they felt. It was such a good move because it helped put everything into perspective. People said they felt had witnessed a historical moment and that this would go down in history as a legendary concert. Thank you for reminding us about what is important! And thanks to Nocturno Culto for the strength put into the show and Zephyrous for helping create the right vibe in the hours before the show. Last salute goes out to the several hundred who lined up for the signing session with Frost, Nocturno Culto and Satyr.

Nightwish Forced To Cancel 3 N. American Dates

Nightwish have had to cancel the first three shows of their upcoming North American tour after failing to secure their visas in time for the tour's kick-off date on August 16. The cancelled dates are:

Aug. 16 - Toronto, ON
Aug. 17 - Montreal, QUE
Aug. 19 - Philadelphia, PA

Our US Visa applications were filed early enough at the end of March 2004, so the U.S. Immigration Office is the one responsible for not being able to handle these applications within this 4, 5 months of time. There was never anything we could have done but wish for some co-operation from their side. The result is as seen.

We are very sorry for this and we understand that many of you are pissed. So are we. Big time. Naturally we will do everything we can to make this up and as soon as possible. The rest of the U.S. shows will happen as scheduled.

Road Rage '04 Report: Aug 9 In Washington, DC

CorrosiveMind just reported on the August 8 show of the Road Rage '04 tour, but what the hell - I'll give you my opinion of the August 9 show as well.

When I heard about the Road Rage 2004 tour, I decided well ahead of time that I had to go. Despite being one of my favorite bands, and back in the top ranks of favorites after their unbelievable comeback album ‘Through The Ashes Of Empires,’ I had never had the chance to see Machine Head live. Being a fan of Chimaira and hearing good things about Trivium as well, I had to go to this show. “Had to” meaning, yes I would go even on this Monday night of August 9, 2004, which many people apparently would not do, as the crowd was smaller than expected for such a great billing and a great venue. The 9:30 club in Washington, DC is my favorite place in the area to see a good metal show, despite the location in DC and usually long drive or metro ride from where I live. More...
