In other news, GORGOROTH have revealed that it is still uncertain when the video footage recorded at the group's infamous gig in Krakow, Poland will be returned. The tapes, which were meant to be used for future DVD release, were confiscated by the local police after the band were accused of "offending religious feelings" during the early February concert. GORGOROTH were also suspected of breaching the Polish law on protection of animals by displaying the severed and impaled heads of sheep as part of their stage act.

The Polish prosecutor has asked the Norwegian police for help in questioning members of GORGOROTH in order to determine whether Article 196 of the Polish penal code (concerning offense to religious feelings) has been breached or not during the band's concert in Krakow. The maximum penalty for breaching the article is five years in prison.

Derek Roddy has finished recording the drum tracks for the upcoming HATE ETERNAL album at guitarist Erik Rutan's Mana Recording Studios in Tampa, Florida. Derek, who is known for laying down extremely fast and complex drum tracks in one take, reportedly completed the recordings in five and a half hours. The sessions were also recorded on video for a future DVD, which may be included in the new album or for Derek's planned instructional video. Eidolon Sign To Escapi

Toronto, Canada's EIDOLON have inked a new record deal with Escapi. The CD/DVD agreement, which was made possible with the help of manager Ole Bang (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, FORCE OF EVIL), "is a worldwide deal, so finally our music will be released in proper fashion in America, which has always been a problem in the past for us," EIDOLON drummer Shawn Drover writes on the group's web site. "Escapi has top-notch distribution as well, which is always a big help. The DVD end of it, should feature future live performances (festivals, etc.) studio stuff, a performance video and things of this nature. All in all, we are extremely happy that Escapi is really going to bat for us!!!!!!

"The recording of the new record will begin around the 1st week of October. I will be venturing to Gothenburg, Sweden to record my drum parts at Los Angered Recording (owned by Andy LaRocque). Guitar and bass tracks will be recorded at Glen's recording studio (Eclipse Recording) in Toronto, while Nils will record his parts just outside of Oslo, Norway. At this point, we are shooting to have the new record in Escapi's hands by the end of April, if all goes according to plan.

"As well, we will be recording 'The Oath' by MERCYFUL FATE, with Michael Denner playing his lead sections in the song!!!!!!! Although I cant 100% confirm this, it is looking pretty good at this point (amazing what a cigarette can get you) Speaking for myself, Michael Denner is 1 of my favorite guitar players of all time — his lead playing is so unique , it just kills me!!!!!! Having Andy LaRocque play a few solos on our last record was amazing enough — to have Michael Denner do this will be amazing!!!!!!

"As for the music end of it, the record is 100% written now — I can assure you that this is the most diverse record we have made thus far!!!!!! This record is a bit more progressive, but in a very heavy-dark way. The music is very dynamic, heavy, melodic in parts and more speed oriented in others. With Nils K. Rue in the band, the musical boundries have been expanded. All of us are very, very excited about the new record, and our future with Escapi."
