Koshik Strikes Again - Bounced Checks And Threats

To date, Seven Witches has played three Koshick events and until recently, was always treated well. However, following this year's Milwaukee debacle, several payment checks, including the one given Witches' mainman/guitarist Jack Frost, bounced. A call to the promoter promised a (guaranteed) money order within five days. Yet, after the specified timeframe, still no money. Worse yet, Koshik didn't return any of the 35 phone calls from Frost, or his attorney. "If he had just picked up the phone," says Frost, "told me he was broke, maybe we could work something out, like $100 a month or something. I hear we aren't the only ones out money." In widely circulated reports, John Gallagher (Raven) claims his band is still owed money from Koshik's NJ Metal Meltdown, in March.

At this point, Frost contacted the Milwaukee police, to lodge a formal complaint. That did the trick, as Koshik was soon on the phone, but rather than make good on the debt, he threatened Frost, his band and family. "I just want people to know what kind of person they're dealing with," adds Frost. "He said, 'I know where you live. I've got some people that will come around and beat you up.' He said I don't have the balls to go to the press and tell everyone the truth. I'd heard the rumors, but now I know why people won't deal with him."
