Former Emperor Drummer Answers Fan Questions
Former Emperor drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun has answered a number of fan questions via his official web site. Several excerpts follow:
On the passing of Bathory frontman Quorthon:
Anyone who have had a relationship to extreme music in one form or another will have come across the death of Quorthon, the mastermind of Swedish forefathers Bathory. After his death, the hailing texts have been many. I will not be one of those who glorifies Quorthon and say how much he has meant to me. I never liked idolizing people. I happened to love the music of Bathory and the creepy and eerie aura that surrounded the band, but to idolize is not for me. Anyway, there is no doubt that one of the originators of the true black metal movement has died. As a result of this I will appear in an all-star cover band on the Bergen Hole in the Sky festival in August. Featuring people like Samoth, Apollyon, Grutle, Satyr, Abbath, Gaahl, Nocturno Culto and Ivar it is clear that it will be an honourable moment to perform the old Bathory classic tracks.
On upcoming projects:
I am still striving to get myself occupied musicwise. I am tired of people announcing different projects and name dropping the biggest stars just to get a 15 minutes of attention themselves. I don’t care about 'stars' as long as I know I cooperate with a bunch of good guys. The era of rock- and metal stars ended with the 80's.
On the possibility of a reunited Emperor with him in it:
I don't think so. Firstly, a reunion in itself is unlikely to happen. Secondly, if a reunion should happen by any chance it would be more right that it would be Trym because he can after all play the entire set of Emperor classics. Me, I can just do the tracks I participated on. Sometimes it`s better to let sleeping dogs still sleep. Why concentrate on the past when there is so much happening now?
On whether he will become a full-time member of any other black metal projects:
It's unlikely I will take part in a 100% black metal project, since the music and lifestyle doesn`t excite me as it once did. However, I like dark music with a twisted approach so something in the similar lines would be likely.

Seven Angels Recording Sophomore Album
Seven Angels is in the studio recording their second album, likely entitled 'Faceless Man', to be released December 2004. The band has been recording since Aug 23, at Nico's Studios ( www.nicosstudio.com.br ). Some special guest appearances on the album will be announced soon.
Scum Of The Earth Completing First Video
SCUM OF THE EARTH, the new band led by ROB ZOMBIE guitarist Riggs, have just begun editing the music video for their first single, "Get Your Dead On". The clip was shot over the course of a week on several locations in the Los Angeles area.
The main character in a unique horror film currently in pre-production will be the basis for this video and in an unprecedented move, the video will introduce the mythology of a villain before its appearance in a film, comic book, and video game —each scheduled for release next year, according to a press release.
From the twisted minds of reknown artists Paul Jenkins and Rob Prior comes the legend of the Shadow Walker, a violent creature that has the ability to move only within darkness. The story of its origins is based largely on the untapped early history of New Zealand.
Writer Paul Jenkins is best known for writing groundbreaking issues of the most beloved comic book characters in history. He's responsible for "Origin: The True Story of Wolverine", "Spider-Man: Return of the Goblin", "The Incredible Hulk", "Darkness:Resurrection" and "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Designer Rob Prior is the acknowledged master of photorealistic comic book art and has branched out into creature sculpting for shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel".
After collaborating on the script for "Shadow Walker" and beginning the early stages of production in New Zealand, Jenkins and Prior decided that music video would be the ideal medium to introduce what they hope will be the breakout monster franchise of 2005.
"Get Your Dead On" comes off SCUM OF THE EARTH's full-length debut, "Blah... Blah... Blah... Love Songs for the New Millennium", due on October 26 through Eclipse Records. The album was written by Riggs with collaborative help from his friends and recorded at Belt of Orion Studios in Los Angeles. Riggs produced the record, which was mixed by Frank Gryner (ROB ZOMBIE, A PERFECT CIRCLE) and Brandon Belski (VELVET REVOLVER, STAIND, STATIC-X). Guest musicians on the album include POWERMAN 5000 guitarist Mike Tempesta, Mike's brother and ROB ZOMBIE drummer John Tempesta, SYSTEM OF A DOWN drummer John Dolmayan, and old friends, bassist Clay Campbell and drummer Seven.

Evergrey Cancel Appearance, Open For The Scorpions
Posted on the official Evergrey website:
We are very sad to inform our friends and fans in Israel that we not will be performing at the Metalist Festival. The entire band had been looking forward to this event and it sounded like a dream come true to see Israel. Unfortunately there has been a lot of practical problems, and when the flight tickets were booked for the wrong day, there was simply no way we could travel to Israel. Please understand that this was totally out of the band's control and that we would do nothing rather than come to this festival. We will do our best to come to Israel in the autumn or the winter instead. The festival has also promised that they would explain to all at the festival that this was an error from their side and that Evergrey are not to blame. If this doesn't happen please let us know.
Sincerely,
Tom, Michael, Henrik, Rikard and Jonas
