Bat Finishes Work On New Album
Today the filth-bangin' heavy metal squadron Bat announce the completion of a debut album for Hells Headbangers, titled "Wings of Chains," which is slated for release during the first quarter of 2016.
Says vocalist/bassist Ryan Waste: "We are louder and prouder than ever with the completion of 'Wings of Chains,' our debut full-length. It's been a long time coming, so we decided to put every song we've written to date in a heavier package as one recording. I just finished solely tracking all the vocals for the album in my house, which was quite a milestone for me. Nick and Felix crushed it as usual, and it’s safe to say these songs showcase Bat in our true live-sounding element. To commemorate the wrap up of the album, we’re unleashing the cover artwork today, illustrated by our German brother Chris from Infected Arts.”
Ryan Waste continues: "Before we mix and master the record, we’re heading out west to play some live gigs around the Frost and Fire Festival in Ventura, California. This will be our first time playing in southern California, and we hope the crowd can match up to the mayhem we received in Oakland at the Tankcrimes Brainsqueeze last year." More...

Divdes Posts Halsey Cover Video
Divides has decided to get a little heavy with 2015's most tweeted about indie-pop act: Halsey is given a metallic coat of paint in the band's dark and methodical cover of "Hold Me Down."
"We're all huge fans of Halsey and have been jamming to 'Badlands' a lot lately," says vocalist CJ Marie. "Her songs lend themselves to a heavier tone and it was insanely fun to put our own twist on it. We wanted to play around with the imagery of locking up your demons and hiding them inside the depths of your own mind. Halsey's lyrics really work with this concept, which helped create the really creepy-cool aesthetic of the video."
If you haven't heard it yet, you can also stream the full new Divides album "Brokentooth" over at this location. More...

Vorna Releasing New Album, Streams First Single
The Finnish pagan metal band Vorna will release second full-length album "Ei Valo Minua Seuraa" ("No Light Follows Me") on December 4, 2015.
The album will be released through Inverse Records and was mixed by Tuomas Kokko from Electric Fox Studios (e.g. Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade) and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde from Virtalähde Mastering (e.g. Black Crucifixion, Alghazanth, Ghost Brigade). Cover artwork have was designed by Jarno Lahti from Kaamos Illustration & Design (e.g. Pain, Hypocrisy, Before the Dawn).
Vorna's lead vocalist Vesa Salovaara shared a few words about the album recordings: |This year has most certainly been Vorna’s busiest one to date and the whole album making process was quite intensive experience as well. The song material was constantly evolving from the earliest demo sessions in April all the way to the mixing which took place in July. As a result we think we’re holding our most mature, diverse and also, in a way, darkest album yet.
"Still, neither risks nor untamed intuitive ideas were avoided and we believe that one might find even somewhat surprising shades from it’s depths. Lyrically 'Ei valo minua seuraa' is dealing with quite universal and timeless themes. More...

According to the band: "This song is about blind faith. The way Job or Faust were tempted by Satan while god agreed. In a way, this text is a way to highlight a certain credulity. While they were suffering they still thought god would bring them salvation. He was their persecutor instead."
The album's track listing is as follows:
I. L'Exil
II. A Sheep Among The Wolves
III. Embrace The Flames
IV. They Came...
V. ...To Take Us

Enslaved Announces "Enslaved 25" Events
Enslaved is very proud to announce the band will be playing three special shows entitled "Enslaved 25" as part of London By Norse 2016.
These special shows by the Bergen five-piece are to commemorate a quarter-century’s worth of cultural and spiritual invocations and ever-expanding musical horizons. The first show of "Enslaved 25" will be at The Dome on March 17, with support acts to be announced, and the journey will continue the following night at The Underworld. This rare event will culminate with a night at Shepherds Bush Empire on March 19, which includes a performance by Skuggsjá (the new band from Enslaved and Wardruna members) and feature Wardruna’s second ever appearance in the U.K. plus a rare art exhibition by former Gorgoroth and God Seed vocalist Gaahl.
On March 18, The Forge in Camden will see Enslaved’s Ivar Bjørnson presenting his immersive electro-ambient project Bardspec, while Einar Selvik will be presenting his workshop, a spellbinding solo performance and wide-ranging talk that takes in the philosophy of Wardruna, the background to the ancient instruments he uses, and on the historical background to Skuggsjá.
Enslaved guitarist Ivar Bjørnson had this to say about the events: “That London By Norse is taking place is just epic! It is truly a wish list of an event, encompassing all the elements I could hope for during the course of a London weekend: playing with my own band(s) and performing with my friend and brother-in-arms Einar Selvik and his Wardruna warriors. This will be one for the history books, I simply cannot wait!”
Wardruna’s Einar Selvik said: “The last time we performed in London was a fantastic experience, and so when finally returning to the British Isles we really wanted to do more than just play a single concert. So in the spirit of old Norse tradition on western travel and trade we hope to make more of a cultural imprint with the London By Norse event and can only hope that this time the tales of our visit will not only be recorded by Christian monks with a political agenda. I really look forward to celebrating the spring equinox in London and present a broad cultural event together with some of my favourite people!” More...

Twitching Tongues Streaming "Sacrifice Me"
Southern California’s rising underground metal/hardcore band Twitching Tongues has unveiled a new song called “Sacrifice Me” today. The track is featured on the band’s impending third studio album, "Disharmony," which will be released on October 30th with Metal Blade Records.
“Choosing the next song to release from the album was a difficult task, but we wanted to showcase something different from the title track that represented another part of the overall dynamic,” vocalist Colin Young tells NPR.org. “We chose 'Sacrifice Me' because something about it just felt like magic when we recorded it. It doesn't sound like any other Twitching Tongues song, and it's got a spirit of its own within the record. It's for those constantly affected by the negative actions of others growing up: The freaks, the nerds, the outcasts, the bullied. Always fight back. 'They deserve every second of pain'.”
Today’s news also comes on the heels of the band’s addition of lead guitarist Sean Martin (ex-Hatebreed) who joins Twitching Tongues just in time for an upcoming U.S. headlining tour. Dates are available below. More...
