Child Bite Checks In From The Road
Detroit's Child Bite is currently monopolizing stages across the U.S. supporting KEN mode. The latest trek follows the band's North American expedition supporting Superjoint and King Parrot on the It Takes Guts Summer takeover as well as a short followup run opening for Down. Comments Child Bite vocalist Shawn Knight from the van of inequity:
"I type these words while bouncing inside our rattling cargo van going 80 mph, listening to fucking U2, heading east out of Colorado toward Kansas City. We are about a week and a half into our month-long trek with Canadian power trio KEN mode. They are surprisingly sweet boys and haven't beaten any of us up yet. What a disappointment.
"Tour highlights so far include visiting the lighthouse from the Temple Of The Dog 'Hunger Strike' music video in Seattle as well as staying up til 5:30 am playing blackjack at the Hooters casino in Las Vegas. With a track record of zany antics like that, who knows what kind of terrible memories we will rack up over the next couple weeks? Child Bite thrives on shame."

Winterhymn Reveals New Album Details
The American heathen metal overlords from Winterhymn have unveiled the artwork, track list, and a preview of the track “Dream of Might” from their sophomore album "Blood & Shadow," which is currently in the final stages of production at Hofmann Studios in Germany.
The twelve-track saga follows their 2011 debut "Songs for the Slain" and is comprised of both never-before-heard material as well as four songs fans will recognize from the 2014 Paganfest sampler EP.
“The only issue we’ve encountered with the title ‘folk metal’ is that it’s one that’s very resilient to change,” says violinist Umbriel. “Many people have a fixed conception of what that means – what’s allowed and what isn’t. With this album we’re hoping to help change that.”
The preview of “Dream of Might” showcases a distinct shift in the band’s sound. “It’s straightforward, barbaric metal with half the pomp and twice the balls,” adds singer/guitarist Draug. “It’s darker and more expressive, without sacrificing any of the guts and glory. It’s the purest our voice has ever been and speaks to what we are: A metal band that made a folk album, not the other way around.”
The album's full track listing is as follows:
1. Blood of the Moon
2. The Summoning
3. Huntsman
4. Dream of Might
5. The Wolf’s Head
6. Blood Burner
7. In Shadow We Ride
8. Seafarer

"'Hidden Revelations' is the start of the whole story to us, the first song we had composed for the record and lyrically it was at the basis in the concept genesis of 'New World Order.' It represents very well the entire mood of the album; it's aggressive, occult and claustrophobic but melodic and progressive at the same time...in just three words: we love it!" More...

“The reality that Carnifex has been a band for ten years is still something I can't quite grasp,” comments vocalist Scott Lewis. “I've felt we've always been outsiders from the start, even in the metal world. But what separates Carnifex from everyone else is all of you have joined us on the outside, keeping each other alive and stronger than ever.

We look forward to seeing all of you and sharing this once in a lifetime experience.” More...
Leviathan Announces Double Vinyl Art Box
For the better part of two decades, Leviathan has been at the forefront of American black metal with a constantly evolving approach but an unwavering dedication to a core of sheer negativity and darkness.
Over the course of several full-lengths, sole member Wrest has continued to push boundaries within the genre but few were prepared for 2015's "Scar Sighted."
Spread across ten tracks, "Scar Sighted" incorporates elements of harsh death metal into Leviathan's already layered approach. Devout, the label manifestation of Wrest and partner Stevie Floyd, will be putting this terror to wax in a deluxe vinyl version worthy of the music it contains.
Set for release on November 11, 2015, the "Scar Sighted" limited edition vinyl/art box finds the offering on double white vinyl within thick, white printed chip board sleeves, eleven double-sided, framable, 12" x 12" traditional off set press, lithograph art prints and lyrics on heavy weight 100lb textured felt, cover stock paper all housed within a white linen-wrapped thick chip board box with a die cut crescent moon & black foiled leviathan logo on the lid, all hand numbered.
Pre-orders are up now at this location and Neill Jameson of Krieg comments on the album: "This is a fucking Beast of a record. Every repeated listen pulls you in and shows you something new about it and ultimately about yourself. This is black metal 2015's finest moment and should be praised for its adventurous spirit for years to come." More...

Crematory Checks In From The Studio
Crematory just entered the Kohlekeller Studios to record new studio album "Monument," which will be released through Steamhammer/SPV just in time for the band's 25th anniversary in spring of 2016. The label comments:
"On the musical side the album is going to be harder and darker and a return to the band's roots! With their new effort 'Monument,' Crematory are taking four steps back, but at the same time, one step forward. They are returning to their good old gothic metal days in combination with the new established twin-guitar attack and their well-known talent for composing catchy tunes with keyboards and samples.
"On the lyrical hand, there will be the usual mix of German and English lyrics. Singer Felix went above and beyond on his vocal duties and the clean vocals will be handled by one of the new guitarists. This vocal co-operation will create a stir; as such a mix has never been heard in the scene or on any Crematory album!" More...

"We think it should be received as another solid attempt to raise awareness of the wrongs of society and another conscience effort to make change along with wanting new fans to listen to our music and enjoy the quality of musicianship, engineering and lyrical content. We chose our favorite 5 tracks out of the first 7 we wrote to put on this self-titled EP.” More...

Blood Feast Signs With Hell's Headbangers
Blood Feast is reborn into the metal underground with the signing to Hells Headbangers Records for the release of the third full-length album (and first since 1990), "The Future State Of Wicked." Fans old and new will not be disappointed, as the "holy trinity" of releases from the band’s early days – "Kill For Pleasure" (1987), the "Face Fate" EP (1988) and "Chopping Block Blues" (1990) – inform much of the new album.
All the speed, brutality, and twists ‘n’ turns Blood Feast is known for are intact and in your face (nine of the 10 songs being written by original guitarist Adam Tranquilli), yet updated with modern production. Joining Adam are vocalist Chris Natalini and bassist Tom Lorenzo, along with some new blood in Joe Moore (drums) and CJ Scioscia (guitar).
Blood Feast was formed by Adam Tranquilli, Gary Markowich (vocals), Kevin Kuzma (drums), and Lou Starita (bass) in 1985 as Blood Lust. The band quickly wrote and recorded the classic four-song demo, "The Suicidal Missions." Shortly after, came the upgrade to a five-piece with the addition of Michael Basden on guitar. The band was then approached by New Renaissance Records to contribute songs to the infamous Thrash Metal Attack (“Menacing Thunder”) and Speed Metal Hell 3 (“The Suicidal Missions”) compilations. This prompted the name change to Blood Feast. New Renaissance then offered a record deal, which led to the recording of the classic "Kill For Pleasure" album and a US tour with Death Angel. The "Face Fate" EP quickly followed suit. More...
