Abhorrent Decimation Posts New Lyric Video
Just last month the spiritually irreverent death metal outfit Abhorrent Decimation revealed details for the release of new album "Miasmic Mutation." Mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Aeon, Apostasy, Bodyfarm, Krow), "Miasmic Mutation" is the band’s debut full-length and will be unleashed in various formats worldwide on September 25, 2015.
Over the last few weeks the Londoner’s have been teasing fans, releasing snippets of material but all of that culminates with the release of the first full song, the album opener and an absolute death metal beast of a track entitled "Glaciate The Servants." Listen in below.
Vocalist Ashley Scott comments: “We actually finished the music for this one quite early into the process and I knew from way back then that it had to be the opening track to the album. It comes out at you in such a way, with that ripping drum fill… we felt it set a great tone for the album. No nonsense and heavy. We tried a few different things on this track riff wise and I think the main success in structure is the juxtapose of the complex verse riff and the simplicity of the chorus riff.
“Lyrically, because I had it marked as the opener, it needed to be a scene setter. So from a concept point of view, this song is the soundtrack to a holy cull. The message is simple, ‘eradicate faith’ and ‘obliterate belief.’ Bring forward the death of the billions who are still worshiping the ancient prophecies. Of all the things we could channel our energy, focus and love towards people still revere doctrine? It also explores the widely quoted statement that ‘God is dead.’ You cannot kill that which has not lived, however you can terminate an ideology by opposing it.” More...

Grime Posts Full Album Online
"Circle Of Molesters," the second LP by Italian sludge mongrels Grime, has just been released as the maiden title from Argento Records, and the low-end scourge of the album can now be experienced in its entirety below.
Enlisting the recording and mixing work of sound engineer Lorenzo Stecconi (Ufomammut, Amen Ra, Zu) and mastering duties of Brad Boatright (Sleep, Corrosion Of Conformity, Nails) at Audiosiege, Grime's most sincerely grueling work is captured in perfect disharmony on the follow-up to the band's 2013-released debut LP, "Deteriorate."
The grotesque wrap-around cover artwork and layout for "Circle Of Molesters" was aptly handled by Jason Barnett / Cursed Death. Listen in to the full album here: More...
Vantablack Warship Streaming "The Pit"
Vantablack Warship from Montreal will release a self-titled EP on October 9 via Bandcamp and iTunes, but prior to that release the band is now streaming first single "The Pit." Check it out below.
Like the slow churn of a mechanical wheel grinding metal, the warship produces a punishing onslaught of sound from start to finish. Lyrically, the dreadnought writing forces are their bassist and vocalist, who focus on themes surrounding current events, horror, and politics - sometimes all rolled into one song.
For those living in the Montreal area, the band's EP launch show will be held on September 26 at Atomic Cafe. The full track listing is as follows:
1. You'll Burn For This (2:30)
2. The Pit (3:02)

Destrage Posts New Drum Video
Italy's Destrage has launched a brand new drum video for "My Green Neighbour," as performed by dexterous drummer Federico Paulovich.
Watch how the song is played in exceptional detail below. It should be noted that what fans are seeing here is a fresh studio recording, not a video simply synched to album audio. The video was recorded at RecLab studios, and audio was mixed by Adam "Nolly" Getgood from Periphery. Paulovich offers his thoughts on the video:
"It's been a while since we've been talking about making a drum video of a song from 'Are You Kidding Me? No.' The choice of the song came up pretty easily, since 'My Green Neighbour' seems to be one of the most interesting from a drummer's perspective, as well as one of the most entertaining for non-drummers in general.
"The idea was to make a fun sequel of the previous drum video we did in 2012 for the song 'Double Yeah,' so we just put together that concept with the zombie theme, to better fit with the mood of the song. We had tons of fun shooting this video, plus it's always a great pleasure for me to work in a such high-level studio environment, with great pros such as Larsen and, last but not least, our friend Nolly from Periphery, who did an incredible job mixing this track! I can't wait for the video to come out and hope you enjoy it!" More...

Cynic Disbanding Over Creative Differences
Update: The situation has taken a turn for the ugly, with the band members now bickering back and forth on Facebook about whether Cynic is actually broken up or not. The latest in the drama fest is online now over here.
Although the band had tour dates lined up in October to continue supporting the prog rock comeback album "Kindly Bent To Free Us" (reviewed here), Cynic has decided to disband and cancel all upcoming shows. Sean Reinert posted this message online via the group's Facebook page:
"Cynic is no longer an active band. Due to artistic and personal differences, the second chapter in the ‘Book Of Cynic' has come to an end.
"I will say the last shows we played in Japan have left me with a positive charge, even though they were the last live performances with Paul, Sean Malone & I on the same stage. My longstanding creative partnership with Paul, which started when we were very young kids in south Florida, has simply endured so much friction that there is no way, from my perspective, that Cynic can be salvaged, repaired or kept afloat by any means.
"I profusely apologize to the fans who were not only expecting us in China & Taiwan (that was not our fault), but to the fans who were planning to see us in Europe next month. These things happen, unfortunately, to bands. There can be differing levels of conflicts and/or differences in opinions, musical directions, or perspectives. Sometimes these things are insurmountable, and no amount of time or effort can resolve them. This is the case with Cynic.
"I wish all of you love & peace." More...
