Guitarist Justin Adams states: “We were on cloud nine, working with a well-known producer in a world-class recording studio. Tim’s approach to capturing our sound was so inspirational, and then life threw us some pretty significant detours… I got divorced, and shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with cancer.”
Vocalist Tito Quinones elaborates, “He was faced with some difficult decisions, and the lyrics for ‘Survive This’ were written about him. I was impressed with how he balanced the pain, faced his mortality, and was still able to write and perform some of the most powerful music that’s ever come out of him.” More...

Amenize Releasing "Black Sky"
São Paulo based metal band Amenize just announced a sophomore album titled "Black Sky" is set to release October 15, 2015.
Since the trio's 2010 release, "When Angels Turn Into Demons," exchanging members and several side projects kept the band quiet until newest drummer Danilo Cruz joined in 2014, giving the band a complete lineup.
Produced and engineered by Adair Daufembach, the eight track album "Black Sky" will prove the five year wait was well worth it. A lyric video for the lead single is available below and the band also comments:
”'Black Sky' is the title song of the album. As a concept album, the story takes place in an alternative world that’s dominated by an institution called Black Sky. The main character is someone like you, like me, like us who simply can’t stand living his life dominated by an invisible force that uses the alienation as it’s powerful weapon. It’s time to face the faceless.” More...

Jungle Rot Covers Hallows Eve
The natives are restless... for more Jungle Rot! The quartet makes its Decibel Magazine Flexi Series debut in the November issue with "Speed Freak," Jungle Rot's take on the 1988 Hallows Eve classic.
"We figured if anyone was gonna cover Hallows Eve, it would be a song from their first two albums," says bassist James Genenz. "But we chose to go with something from their third album, 'Monument,' as it's usually overlooked."
David Matrise (vocals/guitar) comments on the track, “’Speed Freak’ was the song that I would play over and over again and again in my first car going to school. It’s the song we always played hanging with my buddies years ago driving to party's and fucking shit up!” More...

Night Verses Inks Deal With Graphic Nature
Producer Will Putney (Northlane, Stray From The Path, Counterparts) has launched Graphic Nature, a unique new imprint label within Equal Vision Records, and has signed Night Verses as his first band on the label.
"Night Verses is a great flagship band for Graphic Nature," explains Putney. "They’re phenomenal musicians who write great songs, and they really have a style of their own. They are a band that doesn't fit well into the normal channels and needed its own home. We’re aligned artistically and musically with the band, and their new songs feel like a breath of fresh air."
Night Verses is currently in the studio with producer Ross Robinson (Glassjaw, At The Drive In, The Cure) recording a sophomore full-length. The new album will put an emphasis on presenting a fuller, darker ambience than the previous releases, with more effects, live electronics, experimentation and an overall massive sound.
Drummer Aric Improta elaborates, "Our instruments are sounding less and less like they're traditionally expected to. At times, even the vocal patterns have become more rhythmic, painted with a wider array of colors both lyrically and thematically. Our collective focus has been to create a record that feels cinematic, something to get lost in, like we so often do when listening to our favorite albums. Retro-Futurism has also had a huge influence on the sound of this record as a whole." More...

The Ocean Releasing Split Album
Mono and The Ocean: two bands from very different cultural origins, Japan and Germany, yet spiritually akin and connected by many similarities: a cinematic approach to music based on lengthy, escalating compositions, the fact that both bands have existed for more than 15 years, that they have toured many times around the globe, and finally their shared passion for double albums.
It only makes sense that these two bands will now tour together - and release new music just in time for their extended European run, in form of a split LP. Two songs, only one by each band – but 24 minutes of new music altogether.
The Ocean has gone through lineup changes since the release of the 2013 opus "Pelagial" (reviewed here): Drummer Luc Hess was replaced by Paul Seidel, and Australian guitarist Damian Murdoch took Jonathan Nido's place.
This recording is the band's first output featuring these new members, as well as cello player Dalai Theofilopoulou and piano player Vincent Membrez, who already played on "Pelagial." The band will take this extended lineup to the stage on the upcoming tour. More...

"Behold.Total.Rejection" will be released by Season of Mist on November 13 worldwide. Revenge's J. Campbell comments:
"'Behold.Total.Rejection' is arguably the most fervent release in the band’s catalog since its earliest material. Luciferian Light Orchestra Releases New Video Clip
Sweden's Luciferian Light Orchestra - the psychedelic rock side project of Therion mainman Christofer Johnsson - released a new music video for the track "Dante and Diabaulus." The song appears on the eponymous debut release, which was issued back in late April via Adulruna Records.
According to Johansson: "Luciferian Light Orchestra is a new band wrapped in a vintage spirit. The band is performing songs that Christofer Johnsson has written over the years but thought were too retro sounding for Therion. Christofer always had a big passion for the 70’s music. Luciferian Light Orchestra sounds like a 70’s version of Therion, mainly inspired by the 70’s occult vibes and themes."

"Like our first album, this one will be produced by Jens Bogren (Dragonforce, Angra, Amon Amarth) and [drummer] Ronny Milianowicz (Issa, Wolf, Carnal Agony).
