Onslaught vocalist Sy Keeler will sit out the band's upcoming "THRASH INVASION TOUR" of the U.S., Canada, and South America, featuring Artillery and VX36, due to health issues with his son.
Sy Keeler comments:
"I know you are going to be disappointed with my decision as am I, but I sincerely hope you can understand our situation.
"My reason for this is the ongoing health issues with my son who has been suffering with a debilitating illness for some time, he is still on a downward path with no sign of any recovery on the horizon, therefore to be away for 2 months will put a lot of pressure on the family and increased anxiety on my son. We also have regular visits to specialists coming up during the next 6 months.
Therefore at this time I am having to think of my family first and sadly I am unable to be away in the Americas for the duration intended.."
Onslaught guitarist Nige Rockett adds:
"We’re extremely gutted that Sy cannot make this tour and of course we wish Sy’s family all the best in this difficult time, we are positive things will improve in the very near future and look forward to having Sy with us back real soon...
"It was a really tough decision for us to make also, but Sy was very supportive that we take out a replacement vocalist to make this tour happen.
"So much work had already been carried out by our management, booking agents, and promoters behind the scenes. It would have been unfair to let our team down, the other bands down and most importantly our fans.
"On a positive note, It’s gonna be awesome to have Neil Turbin on board for the tour, for me he’s always been one of the best Thrash Metal vocalists out there no question, his work on the Anthrax album ‘Fistful of Metal’ was simply amazing and I believe he’s one of the only guys in the genre who could step into Sy’s shoes. I think It brings a unique edge to this tour and I’m sure the fans will really dig what they hear..!!"

The second of seven episodes of "NOLA: Life, Death And Heavy Blues From The Bayou" is now online and can be seen below, courtesy of Noisey.Vice.com.
The series examines the people and the culture that helped spawn bands like Down, Eyehategod, Crowbar, Acid Bath and so many others.
In part two, Mike IX Williams discusses finding kindred spirits in Jimmy Bower and Joey LaCaze and creating a band, "that's like Sabbath, but a punk band," with EyeHateGod. Enduring hardships like drugs and Hurricane Katrina, EyeHateGod persevered into 2013, only to have tragedy strike yet again.
Australia's Dragonsclaw posted a preview clip for the band's upcoming third album entitled "Moving Target." The clip features rough mix clips of new tracks "Road Beneath Your Wheels," "Survival," "Cry Wolf," "(Tell Me) All Your Lies," and "Shadowfire" (featuring Riot/Reverance vocalist Todd Michael Hall).
The clip also features a preview/reveal of the album's artwork. The release date for "Moving Target" has not yet been announced, but the album is expected soon.

Suicidal Records is proud to announce plans for re-releasing the entire collective works by crossover outfit No Mercy this October.
Founded by Mike Clark in the mid-'80s, before he became a part of the dominating Suicidal Tendencies, No Mercy only released one album amidst touring regionally on the West Coast in the band's short-lived history.
With Clark handling all guitar duties, joined by bassist (and O.G. Suicidal artist) Ric Clayton, drummer Sal Troy, and Suicidal's Mike Muir on vocals, "Widespread Bloodshed (Love Runs Red)" was engineered by Palm Neal and produced by Mike Muir, and after being originally released on LP and cassette by Suicidal Tendencies' own Suicidal Records in 1987, now, over two-and-a-half decades since it's been available, the label will re-issue these timeless anthems in upgraded quality. The Louisiana volume visionaries in EyeHateGod are pleased to announce their next run of live demolitions this Fall.
The band's latest itinerary includes a short rash of one-off dates in Denver, Orlando, and Miami as well as an appearance at Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin. From there, team EyeHateGod will head west razing stages alongside Power Trip, Iron Reagan, and Today Is The Day on select dates.
Comments frontman Mike IX Williams: "New Orleans sons of the hurricane and battered filthy communists, EyeHateGod, will embark on a severely damaging run of US shows this October 2014 that are guaranteed to please the dirt starved masses of nasty rock 'n' roll tenfold. See ya'll on the railroad tracks!"
Additional live incursions from EyeHateGod will be announced in the coming weeks. The band is currently working on a brand new picture disc version of the "New Orleans Is The New Vietnam" seven-inch, which will be released soon in an extremely limited leather cover edition on A389. Stay tuned. More...
Unsacred Seed has checked in with the following announcement about recent lineup changes within the abnd:
"Big changes coming! We have currently cleared our schedule for October as we are in the process of going through some line up changes. For personal reasons, we have unfortunately lost our bassist Eric Gallivan and drummer John Burden.
"We will miss sharing the stage with you guys and best of luck with everything! Fortunately, we have found a beast of a drummer and a solid bassist to join the team.
"We will release the identities shortly, and we look forward to hitting the stage again soon." More...

Estonian pagan metal band Urt just released a new music video for "Ise / Self," which can be seen below.
The song comes from the band's fifth studio album "Ixi," released on physical and digital formats this June through the group's Bandcamp page. Urt comments:
"Self is a symbolistic music video about the dream of Poly-demon with its 4-winged primeval elements and 3-headed worlds of time. Our rise and fall - the paganic Cosmic Tree growth and wavy off burning of 12 gods on the vast ocean of darkness. When the vertex of existence witnesses it all." More...
Australian groove metal band Cryptic Abyss has released a new video for song "Throne Of Hatred," which can be seen below.
"Throne of Hatred" is taken from the Cryptic Abyss EP "Into The Abyss," released May 21st, 2014. "Into The Abyss" was produced, mixed, and mastered by Chris Themelco at Monolith Studios, with artwork by Pzychopart/Abyss Designs, and can be heard in full at this location. More...

Death Wolf just launched the first glimpse into "III: Östergötland," the upcoming new studio album, which is scheduled to be released via Blooddawn Productions/Century Media Records in 2015.
Check out the brand new track "Today King, Tomorrow Dead" through the SoundCloud player below. Century Media also comments:
"Death Wolf has moderately added some new elements to their deathly blackened punk rock widening the band's musical horizon and guaranteeing some surprising twists and turns. The new track with its hard rocking main riff and ominous heaviness is a pretty fine example for Death Wolf's new found variety.
"On 'III: Östergötland' you will find the band's by far most captivating and diverse material, ranging from the well-known Samhain-influenced punk rock to the post-apocalyptic crust of Amebix and Bathory/Celtic Frost-like blackness spiced up with a good dose of straight-forward metal.
"The vinyl-only 'Liksjöns Drickare' EP, that was released as a foretaste to the new album, can still be purchase at CM Distro."
The upcoming album's full track list and the exact release date will be announced soon. More...
Today the third in a never-ending series (OK, there's apparently going to be five) trailers has been posted online for the bonus making-of DVD titled "Blood Upon The Goat" to be included with the new Exodus album "Blood In Blood Out."

With the release of "Imperium," the first new album in over a decade from New York City-based death metal institution Internal Bleeding, now less than one week away, Cvlt Nation is pleased to spew forth the debilitating rumble of the eighth cut, "Placate The Ancients." Listen in below.
Comments bassist Jay Liff of the tune: "'Placate The Ancients' has kind of an old-school Internal Bleeding vibe to it -- I think that's because of how the song flows from one riff to the next. It always reminds me of some of the band's demos from the 1990s. The riff and tempo changes are pretty dramatic in parts, yet they still have that patented IB groove that flows through it all. I think that's the key to this song; the flow."
The album was produced by the band and Joe Cincotta at Full Force Studio (Suffocation, Dehumanized, Mortal Decay) in Ronkonkoma, New York and engineered by Cincotta and Derek Boyer. A full list of upcoming Internal Bleeding tour dates can be found after the stream. More...

Goatsnake came to life in 1996, and released two EPs, two LPs, two 7" records and a split between 1998 and 2000. In 2010 the outfit returned as a live band, playing a handful of shows in the U.S. and Europe in the years since.

Lansdale, Pennsylvania-based hardcore outfit, CDC, has announced the band's upcoming return to the European continent next month on a two week tour.
Initially formed as a studio project in 2003 with members hailing from Southeastern Pennsylvania towns Lansdale, Doylestown, and Perkasie, with an instant local buzz surrounding them, CDC began playing shows all over the East Coast and dropped several smaller releases over the next five years.
In 2009, CDC took everything to the next level, releasing the five-song "Burn" EP on Filled With Hate Records, at the same time beginning to tour extensively across the globe. Since 2010 the band has been mildly dormant, only surfacing every couple months to play a hand full of shows and a few scattered tours throughout the years.
However, earlier this year CDC recorded five new tracks with Vince Ratti at Skylight Studios and mastered by Will Yip at Studio 4, now coming together for release at the beginning of 2015 in the form of "End," the band's first new release since 2009. "End" will come out as a split label release between European label Beatdown Hardwear and Pennsylvania-based Get This Right Records, which is partially owned/operated by CDC drummer John Bowes. "'NOW WE DIE' HAS OFFICIALLY LEAKED.
"And why am I telling you this information?
"Information that just a few years ago, labels and bands would have been trying their hardest to pull down from torrent sites and flag YouTube channels?
"Because in 2014 you just have to own shit like this. Own it…and move on. John Lennon once sang 'life is what happens, while you’re making other plans…'
"That’s right my friends, 'Now We Die,' the first track and lead single off of 'Bloodstone & Diamonds' has officially leaked, 3 weeks ahead of its originally scheduled Oct 10th release date as a digital single. More...
After cancelling a North American tour to finish work on the band's new album, Machine Head has released the fifth in a series of video blogs documenting the creation of eighth album "Bloodstone & Diamonds."
The band’s Nuclear Blast debut will be released on November 7th (Europe) and November 10th, 2014 (N. America/UK) on several physical and digital formats.
“I cannot even begin to tell you how proud we are of this album,” comments frontman Robb Flynn. “It's been a heck of a ride, but man, this album is a milestone for us. You're going to love it Head Cases."
He goes on to say, “Without getting too philosophical on ya, »Bloodstone & Diamonds« represent two of the hardest materials on earth, it is also a lyric from the opening track of the album ‘Now We Die’. In many cultures the bloodstone has been used as an amulet to protect against evil, and is the symbol of justice. Diamonds and are hardest natural material on earth (which is how we feel about our music), and it also represents the diamond logo I drew 22 years ago (in my wife's apartment on Dover St. in Oakland) that has become the symbol for the band.” More...

Spinefarm Records is thrilled to announce the signing of New Jersey quintet Toothgrinder. The band will release its label debut in the form of the "Schizophrenic Jubilee" EP, which was produced, mixed, and mastered by Taylor Larson (Periphery, Darkest Hour).
The release date is set for November 4th. For a taste of what's to come check out "The Hour Angle" below. Additionally, Toothgrinder is on tour with Periphery, The Contortionist and Intervals through October. Spinefarm Records also had this to say:
"Toothgrinder will continue to push heavy metal into the future with unusual song structures, torrents of riffs and scaled-the-bowels-of-hell vocal attack. But it's not all metallic fists and fury; the band's music is smartly crafted and it is sonically provocative. In fact, their music sounds like the result of spending too many Friday nights in July in bottlenecked, bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Garden State Parkway. You've got to let that frustration out somehow and it's as though Toothgrinder took their frustration out on their instruments."
Toothgrinder vocalist Justin Matthews said, "Toothgrinder were birthed from a brotherhood of musicians who wanted nothing more than to create aggressive energy and deviate from the status quo. The bond that five best friends initiated through childhood will forever last a lifetime. Through blood, sweat and tears, our family has taken on an endeavor that was never thought possible. Our perseverance and tenacity would not be shown to the world without our good friends in Outerloop and Spinefarm. We could not be happier." More...

One of the major draws of the fifteenth ProgPower USA festival was the opportunity to get to see Sweden’s super-prog gents in Seventh Wonder perform their album “Mercy Falls” in its entirety (minus the awkward voice acting) for a live DVD. Judging by the crowd that they drew for that night, it was glaringly obvious that the fans had been wanting this. It was to be a fine performance, and neither Seventh Wonder’s first in the states nor their last of the 2014 festival. The band played again to a crowd of gold badge-holders and VIPs on Saturday morning, just hours later, which was also filmed for the DVD. These boys had some kind of crazy endurance!
During their first performance, members of vocalist Tommy Karevik’s other band Kamelot were in attendance, supporting Tommy’s first love in a gesture of solidarity and genuine enjoyment. After Seventh Wonder were through, MetalUnderground.com writer Frank Serafine was able to sit with them for a short time to get some answers that fans have been eager to dig up: Is the new record going to be a concept album and is “Inner Enemy” going to be on it? Will the new songs be more like “Inner Enemy” or is it just an exception? Will you come to Chile? How about an American tour? Charismatic bassist Andreas Blomqvist, eager drummer Stefan Norgren, quiet keyboardist Andreas "Kyrt" Söderin, guitarist Johan Liefvendahl, and the ever-smiling vocalist Tommy Karevik gladly revealed a few things while lunching backstage. Poland's Vesania, the symphonic black metal act that features current and former members of Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Vader, and Decapitated, have been toiling for over a decade. Their roots are firmly planted in Poland, but their reach has been expanding throughout the years across the globe.
The collective experience of the members of the band speaks volumes of their knowledge and ability to craft world class albums. The band's fourth full-length album "Deus Ex Machina," the first since 2007, is finally scheduled for release on October 24th (G/A/S), October 27th (EU) and October 28th (North America) via Metal Blade Records.
There's no singular unifying lyrical concept on "Deus Ex Machina," but there's a main theme, a coherent and deliberate thread running from the title through the music. The title of the album is a term from ancient Greek tragedy and translates to "god from the machine." The idea for the concept was that a machine, typically a rudimentary crane, would lower a thespian playing god onto the stage to solve the seemingly unsolvable conflict in the plot. In modern entertainment, the term has evolved to primarily refer to a cheap solution in a poorly written script or novel.
Alternatively, Vesania's "Deus Ex Machina" is a call for any kind of help or intervention because all of the lyrics on the album are hopeless and show characters in situations that leaves them powerless. One of the tracks tells the story of the lowering of an actor, supposedly the god, onto a stage before a corrupted man searching for answers. Instead, that actor is lowered by a noose around their neck, having already died. The lyrics paint a drab picture, particularly when paired with equally bleak music. Recording was completed at Sound Division Studio, with mastering by Scott Hull at Visceralsound Studios.
The track listing for the album is:

The announcement from guitarist/composer Olaf Thorsen reads: "As everybody already knows, Roberto has decided to part ways with the band in order to start his solo career. We wish him all the best and we thank him for the long walk we have had together. At the same time "the show must go on", as somebody said, and the good news is that we have started working on the new album. This is not the only good news, anyway, 'cause we are incredibly excited and honored to announce that our new singer is none other than a top-notch artist and a piece of history in the metal world: we warmly welcome Mr. Mark Boals on board and we can't wait to let you all listen to some of the new songs we are working on!
